Hey, I thought I would just make a thread in here letting you guys know about some post skip stuff and then just update it when I found out more from admins.

So as I've talked to guys so far from what I have been told, into a pseudo-exile and they'll be in hiding basically. The Galactic Alliance will have been dissolved into small rebel cells located around the galaxy, both in free space and Sith space, not sure about Chiss space yet. From what was passed onto me, is that these cells and the Jedi will all be operating separately and part of the story is going to be getting everyone to work together on the same page while growing and gaining support from local governments.

I got a peek at the draft map and there's no more blue (us), however, as we gain support, that will change and blue will be added. There's a lot, I mean lots of free space that isn't occupied by other factions which is plus.

As for the Jedi themselves, there still will be an acting council, as I've mention previously the roles will change a little, but not a lot. The faction itself, if you guys have seen Cassa's thread on 'what do you think the Jedi should be like', pretty much its going to a little of all scenarios he had suggested: enclave, scattered, etc, etc. The code and tenets shouldn't change, just how we go about doing things will though.

Nothing, I haven't heard a thing lately. I asked Boli if he had anything new, but he's been busy with Uni lately.

Ok, just figured I'd ask and see if there's an update on what's going on with the Jedi and such. Btw how much time do you think we'll have after the Coruscant battle to wrap up all our threads?

Hey guys, so a little bit with things coming up during the skip for the Jedi.

Sigur is dying during the Battle of Coruscant in the duel with the Dark Lord, this was suggested by the staff and I agreed with it. With this, the Jedi council will dissolve and the Jedi will be in exile. It will hold a lot of story potential come post skip as we see that during this time without direct leadership, a suction of power occurs, formation of dark Jedi cults, etc. Should be pretty cool.

So with that in mind, the Jedi will be without a Grand master or council for a good amount of time, talking years. This will allow for me also to switch out my characters, Sigur for Ebberla. I've wanted to do this for a while and Brandon gave me the ok' to switch them out during the skip. We will need to get together to discuss where and what your councilors will be doing during the skip in order to tie in your stories with mine as well for the overall story of the Jedi coming back for post skip. I think that's where I'm getting held up when it comes to getting it completely put together. If you guys have ideas please, please don't hold back, Skype it or post it here and we can discuss it and do what we can to see how we can work parts into the story.

As so far, also, our temple: The Light of the Force will be the only surviving temple. The LOTF will locate to Anoth in a dead orbit; its isolated and hidden, not to mention a great metaphor for the broken order, as it being a broken world. But I want to make the LOTF a type of top down hierarchy, councilors and masters, and trusted knights will be more able to move more freely to the hidden ship than padawans. With this system we can keep the ship safe from cheap leaks. There will be convos that scout for information/supplies as well as bringing new people in, etc. Then I plan also to have it move every few months in order to keep Sith infiltrators off its tail.

With the skip coming up, I've been looking around to fill the council. I think it would be cool to have Cassa on the council with Juno, he's a hard worker and we can pretty much mold him to whatever we need him to be as well as his character being the twin sister of Guhoo, it would make an interesting story. ICly Juno is currently with the LOTF, he will be taking it to Anoth and there is a thread currently about that happening. There was a misunderstanding in instructions, but we were able to make things work, so the LOTF is going to be attacked while it tired to leave the core and instead of heading to Triton, it goes to Anoth. Afterwards we'll close that board too.

Other members I was looking to put on the council are either TAC or Vulpes, more towards Vulpes. TAC as quite a few bouts of inactivity and that leaves me concerned. Vulpes would be a good choice also, his activity is great and he's always looking to help out around the Order. What are your guys' thoughts?

I like Cass. He's come a long way from when he was in charge of the GA military. Keep in mind that Vulpes is now the leader of the Imperial Knights too.

As for Sigur dying and Ebb becoming Grand Master post-skip, I know there was some concern about that from members of this Council so I wanted to clear it up a bit. Yes, this was officially suggested by the admins. Though GABA wanted to make the switch anyway, we felt that having Sigur die in the Battle of Coruscant would be very fitting for the story of the skip that we have created. So not only do we approve of Sigur dying on Coruscant and Ebb becoming GM after the skip, it was our idea.

Second, there is some concern that because Sigur is dying, it’s not cool that GABA is still FL. The reasoning I heard was that any FL could switch characters in the face of death and avoid being knocked out as FL. That is not true. These are two different situations. The Battle of Coruscant is not real PvP. It has a no deaths rule and the outcome is predetermined. If someone tried to pull that in actual PvP, they’d be smacked down because that would be cheating. This is not that.

Third, this is not unprecedented. I don’t remember the exact specifics, but the first couple of Chiss FLs all used the same character. They transferred that character from one to the next. Eventually, one of the earlier Chiss FLs didn’t want to use that character anymore, so they chose to retire it and use another. That was perfectly acceptable. It wasn’t a PvP situation, it was admin approved, and it wasn’t cheating. It didn’t create a precedent that people could switch characters whenever they want in any situation. Neither will this.

Fourth, it was mentioned that the Jedi write-ups say that the Council gets to decide who the GM is. That’s true, sort of. Those write ups are written from an in-universe point of view. IC, the characters get to choose. OOC, if GABA wants to switch characters and the staff says that’s OK, then that’s OK. The switch from Sigur to Ebb doesn’t change anything OOC.

Ultimately, I would remind you that characters are not faction leaders. Sigur is the Grand Master, but he is not the Jedi faction leader on SWRP. GABA is. If GABA wants to legitimately change characters and have it admin approved, she can. She is the FL, not her character.

I hope that clears things up for those of who you have concerns.

I've got no problems really with Ebb becoming Grand Master, as my thoughts mirror the rules on the matter. GABA is FL, and she should be able to use whichever character she sees fit, however I like that the "promotion" will happen over the skip, or after it, so that it doesn't feel rushed or anything. Either way no objections here.

As far as Guhoo goes he'll be going back to Corellia most likely. Spend some time on his home planet, mostly on the Gold Beaches there, maybe live in a small house near the sea/ocean and start out there post-skip. I'm not sure how we'll end up tying everything together just yet but those are my plans for him. He'll also probably be living there and training Jedi every now and then, most notably Darkwasp's Narrah and Hurricane Sandy's Loogo.

As for the two new councilors I feel like we should go with Cassanova and TAC. Juno Armstrong, 96 threads, active with her as active can be, known by almost all Jedi and very helpful with new guys and everything. Really I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be on the Council. Second guy I would go with would be TAC. And not because Larik is Corellian! But I do find it funny that if Juno counts 4 out of 5 Councilors will be Corellian. xD

But the fact of the matter is that TAC having joined in November of 2012 has 1527 posts, while Vulpes who joined in July of 2012 has only 876 posts. So while I don't deny that TAC has had some short bouts of inactivity, which he never failed to notify us about, he's also very active, trained more padawans that I have and is my pick for Councilor alongside Juno.

With that all out of the way imagine this scene. Council meeting is in place, Ashara spouts some wise words, 4 Corellian Councilors look at her at the same time... What's a non-Corellian doing here? >:3

This is a good opportunity for me to let you guys know a tidbit about the story for the Jedi during the skip, and why the Order itself is out of the picture for 10 years. After Sigur dies, there’s a power vacuum. As we’ve seen throughout the timeline, different Jedi Councilors have different opinions about what the Jedi should do in this war. That was established in the very first Council thread of the timeline, where Sage Master Jhon Cordatus argued with Battle Master Augustus Primus Leonus about the right course of action during what was then still a cold war. So, that factionalized mentality has always been there.

With Sigur’s death and the power vacuum, that will create a power struggle. Different Jedi Masters will vie for the top spot. It won’t be a violent civil war or anything, but it will be a strained time in the Order. It will last awhile, before there’s finally a new Grand Master. Unless we have an interim one, that new Grand Master would be Ebberla.

If you would like to volunteer your Councilors to be Jedi who vie for the top spot, let me know.

What's especially interesting about the power struggle is that it's a quintessentially Sith thing to do. They're the ones who fight for power, not the wise Jedi monks. Meanwhile, the Sith will all be rallying around Andraste and Vereor, so they won't have that power struggle. It's a nice flip on the typical dynamic. The ICly controversial choice to flee Coruscant provides that kind of cool story opportunity.

Also, as a favor, I would ask you to hold off on deciding on Cassanova or not until after the time skip. There aren't that many good people who could possibly be the Rebel FL (there's a 99.99999% chance that the Rebels will not be part of the Jedi faction), and Cass is one of those few good ones. We'd like to keep him open as an option, and we don't like dual-leadership roles. Especially not for the Rebels, which is hugely important and must be done right.

Hmmm not sure if Guhoo'd go for the top spot like that, but if he saw the Order crumble I think he'd step up and attempt to take charge. I'm not sure how the dynamic would look if more Jedi went for it, but I think it'd be interesting. Not sure how the transition would look like if Ebberla wanted to step up and be the new Grand Master when one is already in place but I guess that'd be part of the fun.

As far as the Cassa thing goes, I really support him being in the Rebel leadership, god knows you're right about him being one of the few good candidates in any faction. He certainly knows his stuff, so I ask this out of curiosity and so my future replies in here [and on the Council subject] are backed up by admin words. Would a compromise be possible where Cassa'd be allowed to be Rebel FL and Jedi Councilor since he did work his but of for it? Maybe limited leadership power [4th-5th ranked Jedi] and more title to acknowledge his efforts in helping the community and Juno's growth?

Right now, our rule says that you can't be in the top 3 leadership spots of opposing factions. So, the three current Councilors could not also be Darths or Mandalorian clan leaders, for example.

We're probably going to amend that to say that you can't be in the top 3 leadership of more than one faction. We may even expand top 3 out to encompass the core leadership like the Jedi Council, the Darths, and the Mandalorian Clan Council (or whatever it's called).

I couldn't tell you if that compromise would be OK or not until we nail down that rule.

So that rule wouldn't hinder a person like Vulpes from being in a leadership position within the Jedi, correct? After all he is the IK FL, but it is an Indie faction and not a main faction.

It wouldn't but you should consider the practical effects of it, i.e. whether a person can devote that much time to two roles like that.

Per Brandon, The IKs do need a lot of work to get them running again and that within itself takes quite the dedication. However it doesn't hurt to ask and we can always see about bringing in experienced members outside the faction to join also if needed.

As far as it goes as Ebberla ascending to Grand Master. What the story I had planned for her is after Sigur's death, she begins to feel a pull in the Force, but she largely ignores it until she can't stand it and begins to explore it. She would actually run into several Jedi groups including those who are looking to fill the power vacuum, thus bringing her several challenges such as interference as her role as a Warden, etc. But with this time, she begins to unite members and organizing the Jedi before she takes the daring step to call herself Grand Master, which would occur shortly before the skip begins.

I really do like this idea of a power suction within the Jedi; as I think I said it has potential for great stories to occur, indie factions can get their hands on it and play around with it. It definitely will serve as a challenge after the skip for the Jedi with lingering anti support against the current council and it will certain keep the Jedi tested as they have to face to redeeming themselves to the Rebels and the rest of the galaxy.

@Gaja, I know Juno is serving on the Light and I'm going to hand her the responsibility for taking care of it during the skip, but perhaps Guhoo could also serve as some sort of outside look out for them since he and his sister probably share a twin bond. We'll have to discuss with Cass of course, but its something else you could have Guhoo take into consideration as he tries to hold together what is left of the Order.

While that is true I think that's a case by case kind of thing. People like Cassa, yourself and I devote way more time to this forum than your average member.

Oh no doubt that we'll need to do a skype call in the very near future but I just wanna say that I fully support Juno taking charge of the ship for as long as it is necessary.

And just one more thing that I'd like to hear your thoughts on. If, let's say, Guhoo was the interim Grand Master would his title be the Grand Master or would it be disputed by anyone [I know this may depend on members as well but what is your opinion] and if he'd be called that and Ebb started calling herself that how would they solve all of this without a thread, what were you thinking for that?

With the power suction, I'm sure the title of Grand Master would become risky business, it would surely set one up for attacks by other masters and dark Jedi who believe they should hold that title. Not to mention with how dark things will happen during the skip, would Guhoo be strong enough to accept the fact that he could not do anything to stop some circumstances and would he be strong enough accept the shame and disrespect some Jedi may feel because he was not able to bring together the Order which will be broken during this time.

Also taking that into consideration and the risk Guhoo takes to call himself a GM knowing the Lightside is so unstable, would it be worth it? How would he know if he's not endangering others, especially if he's in contact with the LOTF, just thoughts in a bigger picture.

I personally though would like to see leaderless Jedi during the skip, I think it would leave them more unstable and force them to work harder post skip to make things once right again for them.

If Guhoo isn't willing to give it up that title when Ebberla is ready to establish herself as Grand Master, then both our characters will be no better than the other Masters who get caught up in that power struggle. Ebberla won't call herself Grand master unless she knows she has the support she needs, that's why it's going to take a good few years before she does so.

Well, I can only guess that Cass would totally be into both positions. However, he's been working to get on the Council for a while, so there's that. I assume you'd talk to him about it, first. Let him know what it involves and all that.

TACs absences do raise a concern with me, however. That said, I'm hardly active anymore. Or, at least that's what it feels like to me. Point is - I'm the last person that can say something about that.
As a person he'd be excellent, I totally agree. He's been a bit more active than Vulpes in the tasks I had given him, but I know Vulpes isn't just lounging around.

If Cassa doesn't accept, then I would have to vote for TAC. I suppose it helps that I know him better (via Skype), but the leadership of the IK is going to need a bunch of attention if they're ever going to be successful and we can look to them for help and support. As far as the game goes, I think it best to leave Vulpes concentrating on one task.
Even if Cassa does accept, given the above, I'd rather see Vulpes work on the IK exclusively.

That said, we'd need to find another to fill the spot. I honestly don't have any names to throw out. At least ones that would be reasonable. The only one I can think of is Saemus, but he's similar to Deloi (from my experience, in terms of activity). If we can get him to stick around, then that might be an interesting consideration. I really don't know much about him, though.

As for Ashara's story, I plan on her taking some Jedi (if they're willing) around the galaxy. She's giving her gunship back to the Alliance/Rebels and 'borrowing' a freighter where she'll be traveling the galaxy, going to random planets and looking for Jedi to let them know what's going on if they don't already know and give them something to contact her... or something. Not really sure yet.

By the way, was the order announced to the whole Order? Like, do all Jedi know? Cause if not, I was going to use that as a fairly large part of her story. Doesn't really matter, though.

But other than traveling aimlessly (in a way), I really didn't have much planned for her. She's going to have a huge internal conflict with how everything played out, though. As I've already RPed, she'll be trying to keep order the best she can so, subconsciously, she'll be going for that leadership position. She won't know Sigur dies until well after the battle is over due to her being out of contact and will just want to keep things together as best she can so sects don't break off and all that.

Finally, I was going to start exploring her two story arcs, finally (The memnii and Atra). Though that has little to do with all of this.

Assuming that Seamus was someone that you wanted to pursue, activity should definitely factor into your decision. As a pro to balance out that con, though, he was on Sreeya's Jedi Council during the fourth timeline. The fourth timeline Council didn't do much then since so much was done by the FL, but he does have at least some Council experience.

I know I quoted this post once already but just wanted to say this since I forgot last night. While I fully agree that someone like GABA, Mav or myself shouldn't be in a leadership position in the Sith or Mandalorian factions, should that really stop me from having a Darth character? Even if it's only the title.

Not in the leadership sense, but the same logic applies here. Should Cassa be denied a Councilor just because he's a prime candidate for the Rebel FL? In fact the two factions aren't opposing one another [at least I assume they won't later on], and if we're looking at specific info he'd be 4th or 5th in command of the Jedi, so it could be argued that he could do both.

But yeah all that stuff aside, I'd be fine with either TAC or Vulpes stepping in, and if neither one comes in to the spot I'm for suggestions on whom else we could take in, though I think we should go with someone active rather then someone who's activity is questionable. Unless of course the person in question enjoys a tremendous amount of trust from GABA or the staff.
