Coolio. Let me know how it turns out - and actually, whatever the verdict is, it may be worth making some sort of announcement or post or something. Because I'm guessing that neither one of us are alone in our particular views, so no matter how this is decided some group of people will have to change the way they look at this whole thing. Rather than run the risk of this issue arising again, some sort of public announcement wouldn't hurt. Although I'm not sure where/how such an announcement should happen...

I noticed that quote as well, but that had to do with the Wizards of the Coast RPG rules. Like, D6 or D20 or one of those dice-based systems. I was basing my thoughts more off of the novels and stuff of the EU. Which is why I think we're both right in a way. Anywho, I don't even know who the admins are anymore. Who would be the right person to approach on this subject?

That's not how it's described in the wookiee article. There are examples of practitioners using it to mask their dark/light side alignment while still using the Force: Jacen Solo, Revan, Darth Traya, just to name a few. Honestly, though, this seems like the kind of thing that's open to interpretation - both of us are right, it all depends on how you look at it. I'm guessing we'll need to ask someone to weigh in and give us a decision. At this point I want to know either way, because it will drastically change the way I write Royston if the decision turns out in favor of your view. I always thought someone skilled enough in that ability could decide how much of their presence and/or alignment to show off at any given time.

I hate to be "that guy," but I just checked out this article on Wookieepedia and it says that Force stealth, aka Force Concealment or Buried Presence, can be used to hide alignment. So just using a Force power doesn't necessarily mean the user would be broadcasting that they're light sided or dark sided.

Hmm. I always figured they knew Maul was a Sith because he was more than likely making no effort to hide his overwhelming feelings of hate, anger, darkness, etc. I didn't know that using a Force ability carried with it a "designator" like Dark or Light. I'm going to have to check that out.

Ok, gotcha. But would he be able to tell Roy was a Sith just from a quick Force scan of an apartment building? A Force-user, sure, but knowing immediately that he's a Sith seems a bit like a stretch. Roy keeps himself masked almost instinctively as well, and he's been doing this a long time after all. Still, I think it would make sense for Pax to investigate a Force-user that was dropping in on Vi, but more out of curiosity I would think. It's the difference between "Hmm, that's odd, maybe I should check that out," and "Woah, red-alert, I need to get to the bottom of this Sith business ASAP." Does that make sense?

He knows Vi's signature because he had been with her almost a month icly. And a Padawan/Knight level character couldn't mask the presence of a former Darth I don't think especially from a Jedi master who relies on the Force to not only see but sense everything around him. Essentially Pax utilizes sense the same way we use our own senses it comes naturally to him after decades of relying heavily upon it

Yeah sure, we may even be able to just use the same thread. I'm wondering, though, since Roy typically keeps his presence masked, his use of the Force could obviously draw attention - but it was done in the apartment of a known force user. So wouldn't that be kind of a mask almost? Or would he have known she wasn't in her apartment at the time that Roy scanned it?

I'd rather not have it turn into a fight, to be completely honest, and Roy isn't really a fighter so there's little chance it would turn into a fight if he had any say. But we could interact, that's for sure.

I'm not even 100% sure Roy is on Nar Shadaa to be honest lol. Bee just said her character was in Hutt space somewhere. Nar Shadaa could work though. What's Pax's story after the Time Skip? Is he still a Jedi Shadow or whatever he had been doing previously? Any chance he wants to defect? We've got great health benefits, 401k, and cookies!

Congrats! Don't worry about it. Mostly just the bounty thread needs closure - if you're going to be around and stuff we can finish it all up together, or I can try and put a bow on the cartel one at least and we can consider the other two works in progress. I know I owe you a reply to the one with Pax.
