A wookie would be able to join as for if the clan was to become excessively close to him they may invite him to join the clan becoming a member. on joining the clan would also give him a custom set of DuraSteel Mandalorian armor.

This cause of fact that with them being small if the empire knew that they still existed they would come and wipe them out, not with out a fight of course. Because of this it is the same reason why clan members have a different name for use in public.
