This is here to discuss any issues with my most recent post, or any future issues.

My reasoning for the cluster rocket to simply streak into the sky and do nothing is because its a dumb-fire rocket and was fired while Vesper was in upright position, meaning it was pointed skyward when launched. Reason I presume its dumb-fire is because there's no where in the jetpack or armor write-ups, nor Vesper's profile, that says there's lock-on/tracking/guidance systems for jetpack missiles. Even if there were such systems listed in any of those threads, there's no explicit mention of Vesper activating them before firing the rocket. So the rocket becomes a non-issue and Vax is free to take his shots.

If there's any questions or concerns, I'd be more than happy to discuss them here or via Skype.

I'm going to cut out the middle man and ask for a ruling on the missile. I've used it several times before and have never had this issue occur, and would I have known this was how it operated I would have not done it in the first place - nor would my character have been stupid enough to simply launch a missile straight into the air. That seems a touch... ridiculous to me.

Tagging as well as reporting the post in question.

@Relent

To be fair, it does seem ridiculous that she'd do so, but it seems equally silly to me that a missile that powerful wouldn't need active input to trigger any guidance systems.

@Clayton Would the jetpack's payload launcher have a guidance system or not?

Ignoring my views on the idea of just having a silly rocket strapped onto more rockets on your back, I think the main issue here is that the tech writeup is a little vague on the issue in the way that the issue of "how do back rockets work?" has always kinda been vague, considering we know they're there but never really see them used in almost every instance of current and old Star Wars canon.

If we were to go purely based off of the write-up, then they'd just be dumbfire rockets with no aiming ability beyond hoping the user can contort themselves correctly. If we were to go off of something reasonable, there'd have to be some sort of guidance ability just so that these things could be feasibly used, because if they're only dumbfire you're pretty much SOL unless the thing you want to hit is directly above you. It wouldn't activate immediately after launch (obviously, since nothing does that), so there'd be a noticeable time between rocket launched to "rocket corrects course and starts moving where it's target is supposed to be" wherein the target could dodge away, since I'd think that this thing being able to just lock onto a single target and follow them no matter what would be super un-reasonable.

My honest recommendation, though, would be that the two of you work together to just edit your posts into something that works a lot better than arguing over whether or not back rockets can be used. But yeah, if you want to stick to this, I say it'd be the most reasonable thing for there to be some sort of way that the rocket locks onto a certain spot and course-corrects to hit that, but that would also give time for the target to gtfo or to somehow take out the rocket itself.

Since Eli's explanation offered little clarity on the entirety of the issue, Chask and I have requested and recieved admin permission to roll the thread back to my post with the missile to remove it completely and avoid the issue for now.

Just letting everyone know so the report can be closed.

For the sake of formality, and since this thread timed out yesterday, I'm requesting a ruling for the end of this fight.

As was mentioned to a few of you already, since the report for this was lodged after the timeskip, you will have the option of concluding it on your own or we can void the thread for you

You can void the iteration of this thread. We have gotten together (Jedi and Sith FL teams) and hashed out a new plan that will take place post-TS.
