Affiliation: Replica/Antique Arms Dealers
Ownership: Alistair Stroud, potentially usable by anyone that would actually buy one and refit it for lethal action.
Intent: This weapon is meant to be used as a concealable and nigh-silent close range assassination firearm. It is not designed to be used on the battlefield but in situations where the wielder wants to remain hidden, such as while infiltrating an outpost, home, corporate building, and so on. Ideally their target would be unarmored (at very least without helmet) and is too far away/in too open an area to use blade/hand/other melee range lethal techniques.
Model: 3-S Elite
Type: Slugthrower
Size: The 3-S's overall length is 165mm (6.5in) with a 35mm (1.38in) barrel, from the base of the grip to the top of the barrel it's 132mm (5.2in). It weighs 700g (1lb 8.7oz) without the cartridge, 850g (1lb 14oz) with the cartridge, and 906g (just under 2lbs) fully loaded.
Composition: Basic durasteel components and a rubber coated grip. It's possible to find models that have been modified with various decorative grips and barrels.
Range: Maximum effective range is 20m, maximum minor injury range is 40m.
Ammunition Capacity: 6 round cartridge.
Description: What makes this weapon unique when compared to other slug-throwing pistols is actually that it was designed only to use a very special type of ammunition, in fact the ammunition is what gives the pistol its extremely quiet nature, other than that it essentially works like any other rugged dual action pistol. The ammunition this gun uses has an internal piston and a propelling charge to deliver the force of the blast to the slug, after the slug leaves the casing the piston seals off the hole preventing any gas from escaping. This eliminates muzzle flash, smoke, and almost all of the noise caused by a typical slugthrower. This ammunition is extremely hard to find on the market but those with the related skills and necessary knowledge can make their own, however if this process isn't done with precision gas may still escape the casing or the ammunition may simply explode in the firing chamber. The drawback of this weapon is its lack of penetrative power, it cannot pierce even the lightest of armor designed to resist ballistic force, and its severely reduced effective range compared to blaster pistols. While this weapon is usable underwater its effective range is essentially reduced to point blank.
Features:
- Rugged 'all terrain' design.
- Easy to disassemble and clean.
- Semi-Automatic.
- Almost entirely silent.
- Relatively small and easy to conceal.
- Stock 'dot and bar' sights.
- Supports holographic and reflex sight attachments.
(*Note: I wasn't sure if the ammunition would fall under its own profile or not, it's designed specifically for use with this weapon but theoretically any gunsmith could adapt other slugthrowers to use it. If it needs its own thing let me know and I'll make it.)
