DESCRIPTION
The 4/S Vagrant is a 2-seat starhopper produced by the Corellispeed corporation of Corellia, a small firm which was started by a group of drinking buddies who were all laid off from various other starship manufacturers around the same time. The company has managed to carve out a niche for itself in the basic transportation market, with products like the Vagrant forming the core of their business.

The Vagrant is nothing special on the surface. Requiring 1 pilot and having room for 1 passenger in a side-by-side arrangement, the ship can also carry up to 500 kilograms of cargo. It has a top speed of 80 MGLT, putting it in starfighter territory, albeit the lower end of that particular spectrum. Its maneuverability is also respectable. The Vagrant also has a class 4 hyperdrive, allowing it to cross interstellar distances. Of note, the Vagrant has no onboard navicomputer, and instead relies on an astromech droid, with the socket for which is located between the pilot and passenger seats.

The Vagrant, like most starhoppers, is equipped with a few amenities for extra passenger comfort. These include seats which can be fully reclined and slept in, an enclosed refresher and a tiny autogalley.

Unlike many civilian vessels its size, the Vagrant is armed with a light laser cannon, and has light shields for defense. Though not intended as a combat vessel, some spacers use it as one anyway; the Vagrant is a staple of low-rent mercenaries and truly broke planetary defense forces.

Starhoppers like the Vagrant are not an uncommon sight in many parts of the Galaxy. Unlike starfighters, which are typically single-seat affairs with limited cargo space, such vessels can nominally carry a passenger, as well as an at least useful amount of freight. Starhoppers are also far easier to license and maintain than most starfighters.

LEGALITY
Legal. 4/S Vagrants are legally classified as starhoppers, and are only subject to civilian licensing requirements.

INTENT
To create the equivalent of a small hatchback for players who need a ship, but don't want something big or well armed enough to be inconvenient..
