A Call to Arms: Dantooine

Hello!

This plot would, in many ways, be in opposition to Jedi Storyline objective of stopping Rem Shivaaga from starting another series of attacks. The goal is two-fold. 1. Establish a base on Dantooine and 2.Gain enough supplies (weapons, explosives, etc) and support to begin attacking the Jedi Exiles. I think there is great story opportunity to show the differences of opinion in the Jedi and to give the more "War Prone" Jedi somewhere to start.

It is possible that Rem Shivaaga being convinced to halt is preparation for battle, depending on how the other plot advances. If that is the case, that is fine as well. Either way, we should be able to complete the building of the base on Dantooine. I have an idea of what the threads would look like, but we can discuss briefly before I submit a plot submission.

IC Premise:
With the Jedi Council splint on how to best move forward from the Tragedy of Ilum, Rem Shivaaga has started to gather forces of his own on Dantooine to continue the war against the Exiles. Due to not being able to gain the support of the rest of the council, supplies are limited and will need to be gathered from outside sources.

Potentional Thread Lists:

1. Establishing a Base: A local village has agreed to let the Jedi use a nearby cave system that they have long used to mine. The mining operation was left over from some unknown mining operation of the past. There is a small underground base that will be perfect to serve as a forward base for the Jedi to launch attacks out of. The caves have become home to a group predatory animals that have plagued the village for some time.

2.Supplies of War: Infiltrate Hutt Space and plunder a weapons cache to build our supplies of weapons and explosives. All while trying to hide your Jedi identity.

3.More Bodies: Master Rem Shivaaga has only been able to call upon a small amount of Jedi due to a division in the council. More soldiers will need to be recruited to engage the Exiles. Rumors of a band of sympathetic mercenaries have been received after their leader was killed by an Exile. They are known to frequent a bar/fight club on Coruscant's lower levels. Travel there and convince them to join our cause.

I have added a list of a couple ideas I had in mind. Any ideas for alternative threads or other ideas? I don't have too much planned as I wanted it to be collaborative. I am hoping to submit the plot for approval in the next day or two so we can get started!

Also, plenty of room for more if others are interested!

I do like the idea of going into Hutt space and using discretion to steal some supplies.

I am curious how much the current Jedi would actually know about Dantooine given their situation? Is this a we know the Force is strong here and need to set up a base type situation or a happen-stance we stumble across Dantooine and realize its connection to the Jedi? My character being younger would lean towards the ladder in that, unless told by someone the situation.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to find some sort of defense system for the base as well. Setting up a secret base on a peaceful/uninhabited for the most part planet is going to garner attention if random vessels start sporadically showing up.

Well storywise, they are going to Dantooine because that's where Rem Shivaaga chose to gather forces to attack. Obviously, there is no hard knowledge this far back in Canon and Legends doesn't have the Jedi showing up to the world for another 3,500 years. So I think its a bit of an open book. Now in Canon, it doesn't say the Rebels had an ancient base they used. I think it could be cool to develop the story that the secret base they founded there ended up being that base as it passed hands over the thousands of years.

I like the idea of setting up defenses. I am going to be working through character profiles for the rest of today but will put some thoughts into finalizing things tonight to get a plot submitted.

Gonna throw Kaizer into this because he's from Dantooine.

I was interested in possibly doing some Jedi base building in the form of a lengthy plot and the defenses/FOB we set up here could lay the groundwork for a potential Dantooinian base in the future.

That said, building even a basic FOB here could probably be a plot in and of itself. Staking out a good location (yeah there's the mines but we probably shouldn't ignore other potential ideas), clearing said location, obtaining the supplies to build/reinforce the base, obtaining food and generators, shoring up defenses, etc. We should obtain tiny amounts of materials from a large number of vendors to prevent someone from interviewing one guy at Lowe's who goes "Oh, yeah, some dudes with brown robes came in with a large ship, bought everything in the store, and left."

That said, we could do an investigation oriented plot involving looking at what information is available about the Councilor and their abilities, habits, etc, and come up with a game plan. From there, we interview locals, investigate tips/leads, and try to narrow down a search grid. In my opinion, we're having to toss an entire planet rather than going "yeah, he's in some city and we know it somehow." While improving our defenses is necessary (and why it should be done first in the event that Exiles/the HC shows up), we should begin brainstorming long term plot wise so that we don't get stuck once we run through the first few ideas.

That said, I am more than willing to draw up and post any of the plots listed in my post because, again, there's a lot to do just to build a base much less track someone down that even the Council has lost. Speaking of which, whoever is the Babysitter Councilor needs a stern talking to.
