Altair had wanted practice in his new role and Darth Trelain had no shortage of work to do. To that end, he'd been brought along for something that Trelain had... mixed feelings about.
The Chiss were a point about which she had distressingly little information, but what she did know about them told her that she needed to know about them. The location of the Killik Hive had been loosely identified as being in the Unknown Region and the fact of the matter was that the Chiss Ascendancy was the apex government of the Unknown Region.
And so, Trelain had come here. It was in almost the same region of space and on the same type of station that Darth Andruil had met the Chancellor that Trelain and Altair would meet the Chiss representatives. A station placed there for precisely this meeting and just outside the borders of both groups' kingdoms.
A shuttle had carried them, a small honor guard, and a translator droid across to the station where they awaited the representatives from the Ascendancy. It had been no easy time getting this meeting, and Trelain still found herself dubious about it.
How much do you know about the Ascendancy? she asked Altair as they waited. She assumed he had done his homework, and frankly, there wasn't that much available for them to know. The group was secretive even by her standards.
