Korriban, ancient home of the Sith and arguably the locus of the Dark Side of the Force. It is a place that all Sith know and a place they either love or dread. Some Sith believe that it has passed its purpose and that the only thing left there is death. Others believe that there is great power still to be harvested there, knowledge to be gained and artifacts to be discovered.
For the bold and the strong, Korriban can be a place of advancement. Acolytes go there to learn and audition for a Master. Some are fortunate enough to impress a lord and gain a patron. Determining if they are truly lucky or if they should be pitied is in the eye of the beholder. Gaining the patronage and assistance of a Master can be a stepping stone to greatness, it can also be a slippery slope to death.
Regardless of his personal thoughts on the matter, Artarion had come to Korriban to study. He needed to understand. He wanted to understand more of the living force. To understand a thing was to control a thing and the Sith were all about control. Artarion was also there, much like many other Sith Acolytes, to see and be seen. He knew he needed a patron to become truly powerful, as much as he hated to admit it.
After landing on the planet and paying his respects to the local warlord, he made his way to the Korriban Imperial library. He gained multiple different looks from the pure blood sith on their home planet. He wore the armor and look of an acolyte, so few did more than look. Finding his way to the library, he started to browse the various areas of the ancient knowledge depository. He loved the smell of the ancient tomes, their musty scent made him smile and inhale deeply upon entering.
After a short time, he had accumulated an acceptable pile of books and made his way to a table to read. He sat down and started to thumb through the books, reading hungrily.
