Coronet City, Corellia.
Their instructions had been simple, get in, remain inconspicuous, get the information. All of that made sense, till they added the part about don't get drunk. How was he supposed to stay inconspicuous at a bar without a drink in his hand? And was it his fault that he had four hands, and so had to at least three drinks in his hands at any time to really blend in? Honestly, sometimes the desk jockeys really pissed him off, they simply didn't know how to run an op.

So he was going what he did best, ignore stupid orders and get the job done. Navigating his way through the bar towards the table where his partner was waiting, expertly glancing four mugs of ale filled to the brim and getting through the crowd without spilling a drop, he set the drinks down on the table as he slipped into the empty seat with a wide grin on his face.

"Don't know what you've been drinking lately, but prepare yourself for the best the Galaxy has to offer." Pushing a mug towards Lex, he leaned in as if to pass to drink to her but managed to get a few whispers across to her in the process. "This is definitely the spot, I think our guy's at the bar."

Pulling back, he picked up two mugs his own and lifted them into the air, waiting for Lex to do the same before shouting some local toast that got a round from the patrons closest to their table and took a big swig from his mug!

It was a shady bar, and that’s exactly where the best sources of information were. She couldn’t be some obvious military personnel here. Lex wore clothing that allowed her to fit in with the attire of the usual clientele, though she still wore a reskin of her usual armor. She was sitting at the bar and surveying a man quietly. He fit the bill perfectly, and she simply needed a way to open up dialogue.

That was when her partner for the mission showed up, with four mugs nonetheless! She grinned at him as he set them all down, “Are you expecting more company?!” Lex took one of the mugs and took a sip, nodding simply to suggest she heard him speak under his breath. She remained quiet for a moment until the local Holonet channel replayed the bombing from earlier. After a moment, she decided this may be an opportunity.

“You know,” She began slightly louder than usual as she took a sip from the ale, “I don’t know about you, but I can’t help but feel a little sympathy for the people that did this. I mean, the Republic has been doing just fine without getting all up in arms. And now? Now we may as well have gotten a spotlight on us that catches the Empress’ attention. She’s going to catch us with our pants down because we keep drawing attention to ourselves,” Lex paused there, looking to see if their target would take the bait.

Kyp raised a mug to his face to hide the grin he couldn't suppress on hearing Lex speaking up. He saw what she was trying to do, and began discreetly observing their mark as she continued speaking. It was subtle, but he definitely noticed the man react on hearing Lex's words, though he was sure anyone who wasn't paying as much attention to the man as they were would not have noticed anything. That more or less confirmed that he was the one, but that while the bait had revealed who their target was, it hadn't reeled him in. Time to throw out more bait then.

Slamming his mug down on the table, Kyp raised another hand to wipe his mouth on the sleeve before speaking up in a similar volume to Lex. "What's worse is the stinkin government's put a bounty on their heads. Heard they're offering a million for names. Talk about desperate, give it a few weeks and the fools will probably blow themselves up."

He was about to say more when he heard the sudden screeching of a chair and noticed their get out of his seat and lumber over. An ugly grimace on his face, a face that was almost as hairy as Kyp's, the man glared at the two of them before pulling a seat from a nearby table, shutting the protesting patrons at the table with an impressive glare before turning it to the two of them.

"You speak foolish words, and you speak them loudly. Much too loudly for mere fools." He glared a little more as he pulled one of Kyp's extra mugs to himself and took a large drag. "You don't look like fools. Who are you?"

Lex had to grin. Kyp was playing along with her little game swimmingly. She let him speak while she drank, hanging onto his every word. They had to really sell this exchange if they wanted to get anywhere. Fortunately, they blabbed enough to where the man finally made his way over. From the way the other patrons shied away from him, he had some credibility to him. Lex winced at his words, but she held her ground.

“What do we look like?” She snickered, “Broke ass people trying to make an…honest living,” Lex raised her mug and tilted it towards him before taking a long draw from it, “Now that I hear about this bounty, hopefully I’ll be getting a whole lot richer.”

The man scoffed, “You have no idea what you’re dealing with,” He took another drink, “This is no ordinary group. They go beyond being a simple group. They represent an idea, and they are built atop the foundations of that idea,” His eyes seemingly glazed over and it was clear he was passionate about this, “It began with just a young boy and his vision and it grew so much more from there..”

Lex couldn’t believe her ears. He was about to burst out into a story. She noticed his drink was almost finished and she quickly snatched one out of Kyp’s hands and slid it over to the man before Kyp could drink it. Lex nodded enthusiastically, “Truly? No red tape? No bureaucracy to get in the way?”

“Nah… only freedom and anarchy!” He raised his fist in the air and continued to regale them with tales of a movement.

Kyp almost protested as Lex pulled the drink out of his hand and handed it to their talkative friend, but just shook his head and picked up the last remaining mug from the table as the man continued regaling with his story. "But you see, what they didn't realize was that they may take away our lives, but they'll never take our freedom." Kyp glanced at Lex as the fellow paused to let out a loud burp before picking right back up. "Freedom, that's what it's all about you know."

Kyp raised the mug to his lips to take another sip, if he had to hear more of this then he might as well be drunk. But then he noticed something, the man's jacket pulled back whenever he gestured, and his story had a great many of those. With two hands holding the mug up to his face, nodding along to the story, Kyp slipped a hand towards the man's waist the next time he gestured, trying to pull out the data pad he saw stashed away in a pocket, but the man moved at the last moment and all he managed to pull out was a piece of paper with stuff scribbled on it. Who even used paper in this day and age? This was what was wrong with Corellians, crazy idiots the lot of them. The fact that he himself was from Corellia did not change that opinion one bit in Kyp's mind.

Unfortunately for him it seemed like the man noticed what Kyp had done, or at least felt something brush his waist as Kyp had pulled out the piece of paper. Acting at once to maintain their cover, Kyp slammed his mug down on the table and hopped onto the table itself, crouching on it so that two hands and his feet were on the table. "You speak from the heart, from the heart." Not really sure what to say, his impromptu speech just seeming to make the situation worse, he slammed a fist into his chest to buy some time. "Where do I sign up, I wanna do my bit!"

He slurred his words to make it seem like he was drunk, trying to sell his change in heart towards the so called patriots. "Hah, what makes you think you're worthy of joining the cause?" He downed the drink in his hands and this time took Kyp's drink on his own and took a big swig before continuing. "The Ginyu Squad isn't for the likes of you. Heh, where can I sign up."

Kyp feigned disappointment, jumping off the table back to his seat as the man continued his story. Somehow the man hadn't noticed what he had done, and though he hadn't told them much, they had a name and they had the sheet of paper. Not a bad start. The night after all, was still young.

Lex didn’t miss Kyp quickly going in with the sleight of hand, and she kept their guest distracted by engaging him in conversation. She kept going along with his long story about the group, and she pretended to be absolutely fascinated. In the end, he only got drunker and drunker and was getting a lot more loose lipped with his information. Lex pushed another mug over to him and he grabbed that too, beginning to down two mugs at once.

After a while, he wiped his lips and grinned widely, “You know what? I like you two. I think you’ll do great with the Squad,” He drunkenly reached for his datapad and thumbed through it before sliding it over to Lex, “Everything you need. Where they are, who to talk to, etc. Tell them Bubba sent you,” He chuckled and finished his drink and slammed the mug down. Lex quickly got to work downloading all the information, still in disbelief of their luck.

After she had what she needed, she handed the datapad back. The man was drunker by then and he simply faceplanted the bar and passed out. Lex quietly drew back from the bar, tossing a few credits on the counter, “I can’t believe it!” She turned to Kyp with a grin, “We have everything we need! There's even information here on how we can disguise ourselves!”

It wasn't really surprising that things had ended like this, after all Kyp had luck on his side. Sure, you could say that it had taken some smart thinking by Lex to draw the man over and get the fellow drunk that had turned things in their favor, but you couldn't deny that it was a lucky break that he had been a bad drunk. So in the end it was all because of Kyp.

Glad with himself, and finally enjoying a little bit of a buzz, he grinned as Lex happily explained the information they had obtained from the man's data pad. Eager to see for himself, he pulled out his own data pad and tapped it against Lex's, downloading the data she had obtained from their drunk preacher friend. It really did look like they had hit the jackpot, this was going to make their job a whole lot easier.

"These guys must be fools if they left all this with this moron, I mean..." He stopped mid sentence as he started going through the bit regarding the disguises. There was only one role that Kyp could fill, and it mortified him just thinking about. "No. Nonononononono! I absolute refuse." With that he jumped down from the bar and began walking towards the exit, still muttering refusals under his breath.

The image was still open on his data pad, and anyone catching a glance as he huffed past would spot a short figure dressed in robes and wings and carrying a little bow. A cute little cupid, the crazy bombers wanted a bloody cupid.

Coming to a stop, he spun around to glare at Lex, who probably was enjoying this a whole lot more than him, and almost spat out in a growl. "I am not a bloody winged angel. I swear to god someone's gonna die if you make me do it."

“If you don’t do it, we’ll be the ones dead, you idiot,” Lex hissed at him. She looked down at her own ‘disguise’ rolling her eyes, “I have to wear a kriffing LEOTARD. I don’t even wanna hear it,” Lex downed another drink as she followed him out. Neither of them were going to have a great time with this, and she was convinced this was all a set up. Starting from how conveniently the guy gave away information to how these disguises just happened to be waiting for them…something was fishy.

“Oh well, we have no choice but to try,” Lex shrugged, thinking of where she planned on stashing her weapons. She followed Kyp out, looking down at her datapad and thinking of where to get the right costumes for the job. Kyp dressed up as a glorified fairy was hilarious to imagine, but when she remembered she’d be in a ridiculous get-up right next to him, that smile instantly faded.

The drunk was left back at the bar and she had no desire to deal with him when he was sober. Their exit placed them out into an empty alley, and Lex followed along the path that led towards an unassuming warehouse. She walked until she came to a pause before it, “You know, I never would have guessed that place was the base of operations for some bombers..” She muttered to herself, “Well, better get our disguises.”

"Some things are worse than death." He grumbled under his breath in response to Lex, though one some level he already knew that they had to use the disguises. He hated having levels, things were so much simpler when they were just straight up on the surface.

They walked in silence for a bit, contemplating on the cruel gods that had seen it fit to curse them with such a bad draw. Not that he really believed in gods, he just liked having something to blame when things went wrong. And with the cursing and complaining out of the way, Kyp made his grudging peace with having to look like an idiot and began trying to get his bearing and thinking about where they could get their hands on the disguises.

"They're idiots," he muttered as Lex mentioned the odd location of their base, "idiots with bombs and weird fetishes. Come one, I know a place we can pick up what we need." It didn't take long for them to navigate the streets and reach the joke shop he had frequented as a child.

Coming to a stop just within the shop, he glanced at Lex and raised a hand to greet the wrinkly old human standing behind the counter. "So, what color leotard to you want?"

Lex couldn’t disagree with his comment, grimacing at exactly how she planned on bringing her weapons while wearing a ridiculous outfit. She quirked an eyebrow as he mentioned knowing a shop that would have what they need, “What, you got a side hobby I don’t know about?” She snickered at him before the smile disappeared, “Never mind, let’s keep it that way – I don’t need to know.”

She followed him into the shop as he addressed the shop keeper who looked like a living fossil. Lex read the descriptions again and she shopped around till she found a rich, purple leotard that didn’t look as obnoxious as the rest. With a groan to herself, she kept looking until she found a matching bag to go with it. Thankfully it was big enough to at least stash a pistol and a few grenades in it. Lex shook her head and sighed, “I almost think it’s worth it to just bust in without disguises to avoid all this trouble.”

In the end, she helped Kyp with his uniform, finding slots in his little wings where he could stash a weapon or some explosives. After it was all done, the two were ready to make their grand appearance as the entertainment for the Ginyu Squad.
