"Hiya!" Drow screamed as he redirected the stun blast towards his R2 unit again. He stood on the banks of a flowing stream on Yavin IV, trying to hone in his combat abilities but it was slowgoing. His astromech unit had been taken out by lightning during the rescue operation on Sullust. Drow had been able to repair him after a length visit to a droidsmith and having to spring credits for a new personality matrix. Now nicknamed Sparky, the Ishi Tib's black-and-gold-painted astromech's new personality was hyper-aggressive and belligerent. Drow thought he'd put such aggression to good use by giving the droid a stun pistol and dueling him. It had been a better idea in theory - Drow had mastered Form II too well for a simple astromech to be even close to a challenge.

Indeed, since he'd been a soldier, fighting had never been a great challenge for him. It came easy, too easy really. It was his greatest fear that he'd allow his violent nature to overtake him and thus turn away from all his Jedi ideals. He was working hard on curtailing those violent tendencies everyday but with increased Sith aggression, it was difficult.

He tried to meditate and put such troubles out of mind. As he did so, he began to detect the presence of a lifeform approaching him...

Yavin IV was beautiful. Its green landscape and wild waterfalls called out to Javelin, who was always happy to answer. The Force had always spoken to him. Or at least, that's what he said it did. In truth, it was just a feeling. But he always imagined it to be more. Like an otherworldly being coming to his aid. To warn him, to aid him, or to defend him.

Alongside a stream, Javelin found why he was here. Drow Venn. A renowned Jedi Knight and proven warrior. He had heard of Drow's exploits from fellow Padawans but had never had the gall to approach him. Today would be different.

The Masters had trained Javelin well for years, raising him on the world of Ajan Kloss. That wasn't a possibility anymore. For so many reasons. But it was time to move on. In order for Javelin to rise to his potential and ensure that the Sith are pushed back, he needed a new kind of training. And more importantly, a new kind of master.

Approaching the Jedi and his R2 unit, Javelin bowed his head. "Greetings, Master Jedi. My name is Javelin Kel and I, um, have a question for you..."

Drow was jerked out of his meditative trance by a new figure approaching the stream; a young human with a fit build and long, dark hair. The Ishi Tib stood up and nodded jovially towards the man. Sparky beeped that if this newcomer wanted to fight him, he'd happily take him apart. Rolling his eyes, Drow put up a hand to silence his droid.

"Javelin Kel...I recognize you. You were the Padawan who presented Sadu-Nau's blade. Impressive stuff, getting it and making it out of there alive, I have to say." Drow commended the young man before him. "What can I do you for?"

"Thank you, Master." Javelin started. Though usually confident to a tee, Javelin had a difficult time speaking to the Jedi. Still scarred by the events of Ajan Kloss, and overwhelmed with the pressure that was put on the Jedi, he still tried his best to hold it together.

"After everything that's happened lately, with the Jedi and the galaxy as a whole, I was hoping for guidance. Training. A way to become stronger. I must ensure that the Sith do not take advantage in the ever-expanding fight. Even now I feel the dark side growing."

It was time for a new beginning to the Jedi and a swift end for the Sith.

Drow had to take a moment to realize what exactly was being asked of him here. Was this man asking him to become his teacher. The Ishi Tib could hardly believe what he was hearing. He himself barely felt ready enough to be a Jedi and certainly didn't feel confident passing on knowledge.

"First of all, I'm not a Master. Just a Knight, I'm afraid." Drow corrected Javelin kindly

"Second of all, I'm flattered you'd think to ask me but I have to say, there's far better teachers than me in the Order; Dalaa Ta, Hannibal Grayze, Nara Allam..." Drow began listing all the Jedi he knew that he considered far superior to him. "I have to ask, out of all of them out there, why would you go with a broken down old thing like me? I'm barely keeping up with this Jedi thing myself half the time!"

"They are all very powerful Jedi, yes. But your battle experience over the years has turned you into an expert combatant. I've always specialized in lightsaber combat, and I feel that we'd be a vicious combination on the battlefield." Realizing the tangent he had gone on, he cleared his throat, correcting himself.

"Master..."

Standing confidently, Javelin looked forward, trying his best to not let Drow know how nervous he was.

"Heh. Should have known. My whole life all anyone ever wanted me for was for violence. Even when I became a Jedi, seems my lightsaber skills are my best feature." Drow said, chuckling at it all. He'd joined an order of monks to gain some inner peace and escape his violent lifestyle but it seemed no matter where he turned violence followed him everywhere.

"I could probably do a good job teaching you Makashi at any rate. Plus a few dirty tricks I learned back in my mercenary days." Drow said, throwing a fake punch at Javelin's head with a smile, showing exactly the kind of "dirty tricks" he was talking about.

"If I were you though, I'd find someone better. But I remember what it was like to be a learner. If you really want me as your Master, I'll teach you all I know, what little that is. I'm about to embark on a mission to Kessel though. Once I return, we can start lessons." Drow said, extending a hand for Javelin to shake.

"Padawan?"

"I'd be honored, Master." He smiled. The interaction had gone a lot more smoothly than Javelin originally thought it would. In truth, he thought he might end up on his knees begging to be trained. What a fool of himself he would've made. Luckily, it didn't come to that. The Ishi-Tib Jedi was kind, compassionate, and though he'd never admit it, he clearly had a soft spot for those who sought knowledge. Javelin's skills with a lightsaber were advanced, but he'd become even better with guidance.

One day, he'd be strong enough to destroy the Sith once and for all. This was just the first step.

"I'll continue training with the other Masters until you return from your mission. But I look forward to our first training session." Javelin bowed before the Jedi Knight, clasping his hands together as a show of utmost respect.

Mission accomplished. Next step: Knighthood.
