Ask Naboo A Foot in the Door

[Isen Ramm]

The Jedi Knight paid for a cheap ride to the Naboo starport. He was in best clothes, which, truth be told, were not all that grand. Knee high leather boots, typical cream colored undertunic tucked into dark umber pants, which the legs of, in turn, were tucked into the boots. His overtunic was tan and came down just below the belt line. Over it all, he wore a dark brown robe with no hood. Still, it was a bit uncomfortable for Isen Ramm who preferred to go simply with a sleeveless undertunic and be able to feel the breeze. His lightsabers were held tightly in place by special loops on his Jedi utility belt so that they did not draw attention or dangle like normal.

Isen couldn't help but think it was a shame, too. It was a particularly beautiful day in Theed today. He would have much preferred to spend the day meditating on one of the beautiful lakes or practicing using the Force to tame one of the many wild animals on Naboo. Perhaps a tusk-cat? All of that would have to wait, however. Isen was sent today for his first diplomatic mission where he would be the lead Jedi. It was a strange decision to send him in Isen's mind. He was young and had very field experience with diplomacy. And of all the Haven-Class Med Stations the Jedi were trying to utilize, the one that would be the biggest feather in the Jedi's cap is the Kalida Shoals Medical Center, currently owned and operated by Naboo. That doesn't even mention the issues surrounding Naboo's flirtations with the Independent Systems. The young Kiffar Jedi was perplexed that he was the choice for such an assignment, but here it was. At least he would have a senator here to help with the negotiations, who quite frankly, may take them over completely.

Isen took a shuttle to the Royal Palace Hangar, one of the most iconic starfighter hangars in the entire galaxy. But, the hangar was more than just a starship hangar. It also contained the offices for both the Royal Naboo Security Forces and the Royal Space Fighter Corps. Today, Isen Ramm and Senator Nicolas Clément of New Alderaan would be trying to win over the military leadership of Naboo in allowing the Jedi access to their medical station orbiting their planet If they were successful here, getting the approval from the Queen would be a much easier road.

As it were, both the Senator and Isen Ramm were arriving to the hangar at the same time. Isen recognized him from his briefing notes and bowed. "Good afternoon, Senator Clément," Isen said as they reached the stairs leading to the westside offices. As they would ascend the steps, Isen saw their guide at the top of the steps by the main entrance. He was a member of the Royal Naboo Security Forces, and he stood at attention as he waited on them. Isen looked over at the senator and said, "Thank you for coming and assisting, Senator. Diplomacy is in your wheelhouse, so I appreciate you being here."

[Nicolas Clément]

Max is a good friend of Nicolas', and this effort he is driving is for a good cause, for better healthcare for people across the galaxy; so he will be here for him, still a believer in the Jedi despite a lot of the galaxy turning against them. Even the people of Naboo, although they had good ties with Jedi in the past, the Naboo aren't tolerant of force-users this day and age, even the Jedi. He came into this prepared for this sentiment. There is also that AMS stuff going around on Naboo, he heard troubling reports about it. This 'Haven' project could work to help that though.

Nicolas's shuttle Elysium arrived at a clearing in the hangar and exiting his ship's landing ramp for his appointment, he would arrive to meet his negotiating partner for today. Knight Ramm is it? Yes it is. Nicolas heard he's a good, promising young Knight. "Good afternoon to you too Knight Ramm" he nodded back to you. "No problem, happy to help for a good cause." he said Isen towards their destination, looking at him and smiling.

Nicolas would nod towards the Naboo Guardsman. The guardsman then gestured the Jedi and the Senator to follow him, the Guardsman would lead the two to the Royal Naboo Security Forces office, he would open the door for the two and gesture them inside. Nicolas would step inside, mentally prepared.

[Valeska]

Valeska had been swamped with diplomatic duties lately. The AMS problem had kicked up quite a bit recently and they had to do everything possible to curb the problem. She did work on her sister’s behalf to set up relief and quarantine centers. The planet had strong anti Force user sentiments and topics around them would have to be tread carefully.

As the two men were led inside, they would find Valeska waiting for them. The room was ornate as were most meeting areas when engaging with the Royal family. She was flanked by several guards, and she wore an elegant green dress. Both the Jedi and Senator would have been extensively searched and asked to surrender any weapons.

The guard that led them turned to the men, “I present to you Princess Valeska Parnelli,” He turned to the Princess and bowed, indicating that the men do the same. Formalities were always necessary when dealing with royalty.

Valeska smiled warmly at them, gesturing for them to take a seat in the sofas across from her. Refreshments were brought out in the form of teas and light snacks.

“Welcome back to Naboo, Senator Clement. It is good to meet you in person,” She said politely before her gaze shifted over to the other man, “And I do not believe I know who you are.”

After introductions were made, she poured herself some tea, “I understand you have some interest in our medical station.”

[Isen Ramm]

During the search, Isen would unclip his lightsabers and hand them to the guards for safekeeping. He wasn't expecting to meet royalty today, just military leaders. If he had known, he would have the left the lightsabers packed away elsewhere. Meeting the princess right out of the gate was unexpected, and Isen wasn't sure if that was good or bad for the Jedi prospects of getting access to the station. When they announced the princess to Isen and the senator, Isen would bow his head in respect before standing up tall once again.

“And I do not believe I know who you are." the princess said.

"Your Royal Highness, thank you for meeting with us. My name is Isen Ramm, and I am the Jedi representative."

Again, his mind wandered off to questions about why he was selected for this mission. He supposed it was born out of the understanding that they would be meeting the military leaders first. Isen's frankness and stoicism would play well there. If they could get that recommendation, the Senator would likely be more apt to work diplomatic with the queen. But, those sneaky Naboo threw a curveball and had her sister come out to greet them from the jump.

“I understand you have some interest in our medical station.”

Isen nodded. "We do. The Order is hoping that the Naboo will consider allowing the Jedi access to the Kaliida Shoals Med Center. Due to rising tensions and the galactic geography of the station, it could become a very busy place that requires all hands on deck. The Jedi would like to be on the ready to help provide medical treatment and services should that be necessary."
