His body still ached, no ached was not the word, every muscle, bone, tendon, vein, piece of flesh felt as if it was sat upon burning embers. If he was honest, it was an improvement a few days ago it all felt as if it was on fire. Exegol and all that had happened upon that planet had taken Artorigas down to his core, touching every part of his body and soul. Though it caused him great pain, he felt much better for what had happened, not only because of the great boon the planet was to him, but the removal of the Sith Lord Andros from his body.

The Sith Noble was due to leave for Korriban to meet with the Sith Councillors about his find in the next few days, but first he needed to recover and he also had some work to do. For he was never able to rest. His Apprentice Malou was still back on Exegol, he had also sent Corneila as well as a mercenary company, most of his droids to help solidify his hold over the Citadel. A large order of maintenance, heavy lift and defence droids were also ready to be sent out, the Citadel was a wreck of its former self and needed to be brought back to life.

Although his mind was on Exegol and the coming meeting on Korriban, he needed to pull himself back to Serenno, for he had a visitor today. A women he had met weeks ago at the ball he had held here at Castle Wessex, she had interested him at the time and now with his time and power split between the two worlds. He needed more allies to work with and now with the delicious nugget of Exegol within his grasp perhaps it would be much easier.

Sat within the Great Hall of Castle Wessex, Artorigas pondered over a glass of red wine, a Datapad in the other hand he was looking at finances not the greatest thing to keep your mind from wondering to the pain shooting through every inch of it. He wore a basic tunic as he waited for the women to arrive.

Travelling around the galaxy was not something that Sah’ra was entirely adjusted to as of yet. For years, she had spent much of her time dwelling over the many recovered artifacts of her ancestral lines in a subterranean cave system with no other company than that of her brother. There was much to learn of the galaxy and its current state of affairs, however, evident in the sudden rise in Sith power since her departure. As such, when she had received the call from Artorigas to return to Serenno, her curiosity had spiked. He was an interesting man no doubt, and one who’s aspirations had paid off greatly. He had a great deal of knowledge at his disposal and Sah’ra had the desire to learn all she could from him. After all, there was no such thing as too much information at one’s disposal.

The walkway up to the castle was much the same as her prior arrival, save for the world’s sun shining in the sky. The recent snowfall had decorated Castle Wessex’ peaks and ridges, reminding the woman of old paintings that had adorned her childhood home's walls. Truly a sight to behold. Despite the chill in the air she found it far more enjoyable here than the humid and wild world of Teth, a climate she had become accustomed too though relieved was no longer part of her daily life. On the jungle world, she would have never been able to wear things such as the dress she had selected for this meeting. It was a nice change, to be sure.

With her brother in tow, Sah’ra arrived at the large doorway and was greeted by one of Wessex’ many servants. He seemed to be expecting their arrival as he offered them a deep bow before calling for the gates to be opened. From there he would guide the siblings through the halls, far more serene than before as the sunlight filtered through the high windows, before coming to a stop at the door that would bring her into the great hall once again.

“A moment, madame,” the servant would say before walking in to inform Lord Wessex of their arrival. Sah’ra simply smirked as he walked away; of course he knew they were here.

”Behave yourself, brother. Don’t touch anything and,” offering Tren a side glance, a small smirk toying with the corners of her lips, she would look back to the entrance. ”Do try to be quiet,” Tren simply gave her a cold stare in return, grunting as he did so. At this point, the servant had returned and motioned for them to enter.

Sah’ra would walk into the great hall, Tren silently behind her, to see Artorigas relaxing at the end of one of the tables as he inspected a datapad. Holding both arms open as she approached, she would offer the man a smile.

”Lord Wessex, a pleasure to be invited back,” she stated as she came to a stop a few meters away, both arms now pulled back with one hand holding her wrist behind her back as she gave Artorigas a small bow of her head. ”This is my twin brother, Tren. He takes his responsibilities as an older brother a bit… seriously and wished to make your acquaintance,” Tren would step aside and into Artorigas’ view before leaning forward into a bow, returning to an upright position with his hands folded across his chest. Glancing over her shoulder at her brother, Sah’ra would nod back to the door to indicate him to give them so privacy.

”I notice your apprentice is not here with you. I assume her training is going well?” she asked, still standing and awaiting an invitation to sit.

Artorigas was flicking through the records as Baal one of his servants entered. "They are here Mi'Lord." The man said bowing to his master. "Please show them in Baal." Although the Sith Noble was just that, a Sith and a member of Nobility he hoped at least in the eyes of those who served him and for even those outside his walls, that he was a good and fair master. He owned no slaves, all those who worked for him were paid and housed within the Wessex Estates and he took pride in knowing most if not all there names. He gave the young man a smile and nodded towards him, giving him permission to leave and invite the women into his presence.

As the doors opened he placed the Datapad on the table before him and stood to greet them, yes this was his Castle but he was a humble host and would not stay seated as guests entered. As both Sah'ra and Tren introduced themselves he gave both a small nod of the head in thanks before moving round to take the seat at the head of the table sat out within the main hall. Artorigas chose not to take his usual place upon the dais, as it would force Sah'ra to sit below him and this was not that kind of meeting. He needed to show rank and power by being at the head of the table but not so much as to make Sah'ra uncomfortable or the protective brother Tren defensive.

The table normally sat twelve and was used mainly for dinner, though it was often only himself his sister, mother and Malou, his other sisters and there families often visited necessitating the larger size. Standing behind the head chair he pointed to the seat to his right, one of great respect, usually withheld for Malou. "Welcome both of you, please take a seat, Tren please also join us." Once the pair had seated he to took a seat. "She is performing better than I could have hoped. She is currently out know on assignment, developing her powers within The Force. How are you finding yourself within the wider Sith world Sah'ra? Do you have any interesting tales or stories to tell before we get to business?"

Much of what Sah’ra had expected of Artorigas had thus far been proven to be correct. He was not your usual Sith though perhaps that degree of cruelty and edge came with time. Or perhaps it was safely stored away in reserve, a bubbling pot waiting to be stoked to a boil. It was this demeanor that had caught her attention before and she was delighted to see that it had not waned, at least not yet. ”All things in due time, I suppose,” she thought to herself, offering her host a smile as she moved to the indicated seat. Pulling the chair back with the Force, the woman set herself down upon it and crossed her legs below the table’s surface before turning to Artorigas. Tren would stop his departure and approach a chair that left another between him and his sister and do his best to sit quietly, though his size and barely-contained recklessness would still slide the chair backward across the magnificent floor slightly. Grimacing at the noise, he would glance towards Artorigas and once again bow his head to suggest his apologies before leaning back with his hands in his lap.

Sah’ra simply waited for her brother to get comfortable, showing no signs of irritation or impatience as he did so, before addressing Artorigas as he sat himself at the head of his table.

”From what I can tell, she seems like a worthy apprentice. You’ve done well in your selection. I have little doubt that she will leave you disappointed,” she responded, lacing her fingers and placing both forearms across the edge of the table before her. There was a tug of curiosity at what it was that the young girl had been sent to do, where she was and what tasks had been presented to her, but Sah’ra knew it was neither her business nor her concern. Some things were best left undisturbed.

”I must admit, putting together faces to the legendary names of our Order has been… difficult, as you well know,” Sah’ra would inadvertently shoot a glance back to the position where she had encountered none other than Darth Stolas himself, a pang of guilt and embarrassment toying with her insides, before looking back to the Lord of Serenno. ”Living in seclusion for so long has left me with little in the way of knowledge beyond Teth and that of my own family, but perhaps those are stories best left for another day,” Sah’ra, though she found a great deal of interest and respect for Artorigas, could not deny the fact that they were still strangers. There was much that they could one day discuss but for now, she was more interested in what it was that had spurred him to summon her here. ”Business is what brought me here, then? Business, and nothing personal?” Sah’ra smirked playfully towards the man as she leaned back in her seat though her words triggered a quiet groan from her silent brother.

He let the comments about Malou pass over, he had no need to continue to talk about his Apprentice, for she was not present and her mission had no impact upon there current meeting. Artorigas smiled when she spoke about her rather interesting meeting with Lord Stolas, it had been interesting and considering that one party member had already left the room rather quickly he was surprised she did not quickly follow. "I too was out in the cold before I came into the Order fully. Though I am sure moving forward you will not have to much of an issue. Between myself and Lord Stolas, you have two people who can introduce to much of the more prominent members of The Order."

Placing his hands on the table he interlocked his finger and gave the women a smile at her comments about personal items. Alas he did not have the time for personal attachments at the moment, though they were on the table he had to solidify a few things before moving forward with that. "Business it is, I will put it simply. Like all organisations of a decent size there become circles of power. Revolving around individuals of strength and intelligence within that organisation or in this case Sith Order. And I, am looking to increase my own circle and would ask if you wish to join me?"

It was bold and blunt but it was what was needed for the Sith Noble did not have the time to fart around with this sort of thing.

There would be no protest from Sah’ra as Artorigas elected to get to the point of his summoning her back to Serenno. What his statement did warrant, however, was a look that carried both minute concern partnered with mild amusement. Of course, this subject wasn’t something so low on her list of expectations that she had entirely written off the chances of its occurrence. No, rather she was taken aback by the straightforwardness of the address. Gently pushing herself away from the table with both of her forearms, Sah’ra proceeded to lean into the backrest of her chair, both of her arms still crossed across her chest. A smirk played with the corners of her lips as she let the request sit in the open for a moment before replying.

”Have you not achieved enough to fulfill your ambitions, Lord?” Sar’ah asked of Wessex, her smile not yet fading. Of course, she knew the answer. A Sith is never happy with what they have attained. They always crave more; power is everything. Sah’ra was no different in this aspect. She has goals of her own, a desire to ascend. To tie herself to another, to make herself a subordinate, seemed… counter productive.

”What exactly is it that you believe I can offer you? That makes you confident that I am someone who can even be trusted?” Sah’ra asked her questions as she tilted her head slightly to the side, her earrings jingling beside her neck as she did so. She and Artorigas were hardly even associates and yet he was asking her to join him. Join him in what? What was in it for her? ”Forgive my curiosity, Lord. This just seems so… It’s abrupt. I’d like to understand what it is you’re asking,” Her tone would make it clear that she understood the essence of his request but that she needed more. Blindly aligning herself with a stranger requires more than a simple request in Sah’ra’s eyes and while Artorigas was certainly a man of action, there was still much she did not know.

Stage one was complete the women had been taken off guard, she was on the defensive, he could tell by her posture, the subtle lean back in her chair the immediate reply with a question, it was a standard response. One had expected and one he had planned for. Unlike the women Artorigas kept his pose, hands upon the table, fingers crossed, back straight a pleasant smile on his face. "One must always look forward Sah'ra, to stay still is to be stagnant and to be stagnant is to watch the Galaxy pass you by. This is the same for a Sith as it is a weaver on Naboo, one must always push forward."

"I never said that I trusted you. Trust needs to be earned over time, what I am offering you is a partnership where we both equally gain something, if the terms are equal then there is no need for one side to trust each other more than they are willing to do."
With Exegol in his back pocket he know held a near limitless supply of cards to play in trades such as this, he only needed to gauge what card to use on the women. "I apologise if you feel this is abrupt but as you said, 'Business is what brought you here' and business is normally always abrupt. What I am looking for is people with a specific sect of skills to advance my agenda within the Galaxy and I will happily reimburse them for their time and commitment to my cause."

Artorigas was most certainly of noble blood, that could not be denied. It didn’t take the castle and it’s servants nor the countless suits of armour and elegant tapestries to put such a fact on display. No, you could dress a man such as this in rags and drop him into the slums of Ord Mantell and he would never be taken seriously as a degenerate. The air around him whispered of a cool authority and yet his expressions were nearly… warm. What manner of Sith was this?

”The difference between a Sith and a basket weaver is that a weaver rarely has influence on galactic events,” Sah’ra replied, still leaning back in her seat as she brought a hand up to push a strand of her hair back in behind her ear. Though she understood what Wessex implied and she could not disagree with him. To grow in power, one needed connections. Connections that were of worth, whether they be seated behind grand desks or pushing spice in dark alleys. Connections were an absolute necessity if one wished to ascend. This would tie in well to what she had hoped from this meeting, after all.

”So you’re saying that if I scratch your back, you’ll scratch mine?” Sah’ra asked, locking her blue eyes with Wessex’ own. True, trust does not come easily to anyone, especially amongst the Sith. Even so, one must have faith in their allies to do what is required of them when requested, a contingency plan to follow if they come to be lacking in skill set or ambition. ”I’m not about to simply become someone’s pawn in their own schemes so if what you say is true, that reimbursement is guaranteed, then I’d like to know what it is that you have to offer me for my backing,” Sah’ra, while not wealthy as Wessex, had little interest in financial compensation. Be it credits or crowns, currency was indeed helpful but knowledge held no comparable value to a flush bank account in her mind.

Sah'ra seemed practical, that was good. He had spent to much time around Sith with little to know brain power to think beyond that moment and what was happening then. Artorigas gave her another warm smile, he had the hook in now he only needed to pull back on the line and slowly reel her in. "Well there are a number of things that I have, that I can give. It can be as simple as money, or as complex as knowledge I am a generous man and advancing all Sith benefits me as well as the Order." He began, most Sith liked money but had no need it, the brutes just took what they wanted and didn't care about paying. Those who were not brutish or foolish usually had the brain power to have already gathered enough credits to buy what they wanted fairly, so perhaps money would not be the option today.

"Through my connections and work I have gathered a plethora of important artefacts and writings upon Sith knowledge and power. I also have information on the location of a number of other items, Holocrons, Weapons and Texts yet to be brought back into the Sith fold that could not only improve your own prowess but your prowess within the eyes of others." Artorigas spoke a little with his hands as he sometimes did when trying to negotiate a deal. "There is also of course my word and backing." Sah'ra may consider the last point null and void, or perhaps pointless as she may only see him as a Marauder with a Noble title, there was far more behind the scenes than that, he had made a number of powerful acquaintance sand was soon about to play the cards hopefully right to bring a little more weight behind his name.

The concept of Artorigas’, the benefit of all Sith benefits himself, was one that caused an arched eyebrow from Sah’ra. Whether out of skepticism or intrigue would be hard to differentiate but the statement in itself told her that he was willing to part with, or rather share, the knowledge he had obtained. Now this was of a great deal of interest to the woman sitting across from the Serreno Noble. This is what she had came here for.

Leaning forward onto the table once again, her fingers interlocked as she watched Wessex’ own hands dance above the table with his explanation, her mind began to wander to just what potential secrets the Marauder had obtained. Where had he found them? What potential could they yield should one tap into their knowledge? Had he already done as much? She doubted it, not because she didn’t believe he lacked in drive or wisdom but because if he did obtain a collection as vast as he boasted then surely most of his time had been spent finding them rather than learning from them. Of course, that would only be a momentary fact. Sooner or later he would dive into this pool of information and she too wanted to swim.

”Holocrons? Ancient texts? Weapons?” Sah’ra’s attention would momentarily divert from Artorigas and pan across the room at the dozens of artifacts that lined the main chamber, a collection that had been inherited but still made her ponder; was she in the presence of more significant items of history than she had originally believed? ”And where have you acquired these sources of knowledge and power, might I ask?” she would continue, turning her full attention back to her host with a new glint of profound fascination behind her eyes. ”Tracking them down from across the galaxy… It is no easy task. Speaking from experience, it can be a long and arduous journey. I struggle to believe that you’d willingly share the fruits of your labor so easily,” The final statement was more of a thought slipping past her lips as she mulled on the so-called facts he had displayed. Perhaps he was simply offering her something he knew she wanted on a string, only intending to pull it back when she grew near.

”Perhaps you have one such treasure present that I may examine? Should you be willing, of course,” Sah’ra asked of Wessex, the desire of knowledge burning deeply within.

"I have been forced to travel the galaxy for the Sith, most of them dangerous, worlds steeped with knowledge and wisdom. As those worlds took something from me, I took something from them. It is only fair." The fact she herself had been in search of artefacts brought a smile to the Noble's face it seemed the hook was in deeper than he expected, that was good. If she was a searcher of treasures that would make her not only an interested ally but a successful one as well. "Most of what is around you is more history than power or knowledge, weapons and armour from ages past." He replied to the unasked question as Sah'ra looked around the room.

Her request of proof was inconvenient, for her only had two items on Serenno one of which he would not let anyone see unless they were closely tied to him. Only himself and Malou had closely studied it, so it would have to be the other item, the one he first gathered as an Acolyte what feels like a lifetime ago. "Of course." He replied before pressing a button on the underside of the table activating a comm. "Cydric, ask Cornelia to fetch the tome, she will know what I mean." His sister, a Sith Acolyte herself and Artorigas' second apprentice was the only other person with access to his vault besides himself and Malou. "It will take some time for her to fetch it. Though I must ask can you read ur-Kittat?"

“As those worlds took something from me, I took something from them. It is only fair,”

The words spurred a sincere chuckle from Sah’ra as she heard them. It was such a simple way of explaining his hardships in acquiring some of the artifacts he harbored. Could she argue his statement? No, nor would she. She would not need an excuse of ‘fairness’ to justify her thirst for knowledge and while she knew Wessex was merely playing with his words for her benefit, it was still an enjoyable comment all the same.

As Wessex dispatched his servant to find this woman, this Cornelia, and to have her bring them some tome of sorts, Sah’ra found her curiosity taking off in ways she had not experienced in years. What was this tome? What knowledge did it contain? Where had it came from? What did Wessex have to do to obtain it? All these questions and more swirled in her mind, eager to see it with her own eyes.

”A little,” she responded to Artorigas’ question. ”Much of my own collection is thousands of years old. Deciphering the text on some of the materials has been… difficult. Fortunately, the Sith who created much of them was not so ancient so as to not also speak basic. Much of what I have learned of ancient Sith has been from her own translations of her own works. I’m hardly flu-” Sah’ra was forced to stop, coughing slightly as a tickle began to irritate her throat. ”My apologies. This dry and cold air is hard on me,”

It seemed that tiredness and a concentrated mind had devolved Artorigas' hosting abilities to the fraction of what they should be. Raising his hand he called a servant over. "No the apologies are mine to give. I should have offered you both something to drink and eat. Please whatever you request we will cater for." Artorigas said apologetically pointing towards the human male servant who now waited hand and foot on the pair.

Once there orders had been placed and the man had ran off to the secondary servants who would do the real gathering of items for the pair Artorigas turned back to the women. "Well I would be happy to supply you a copy of my translations if you wish. I had an excellent teacher when it comes to ur-Kittat and I would love to pass that knowledge along." Artorigas did not however explain was that his teacher was the Sith Lord who had tried to posses his body and ended up living inside his mind for six months.

At the comment of her own collection the Sith Noble was interested. "Tell me what sort of items do you have in your own collection?"

As the servant approached, Sah’ra turned to face the young man and smiled politely before requesting he bring both her and Tren a glass of wine following up with whatever sort of food that may be readily available for her brother as he was unable to request anything for himself. She didn’t need to ask if he was hungry, the brute of a man always was. Once the servant hurried away to fulfill his task, Sah’ra turned back to Wessex.

Tilting her head to the side slightly at the mention of this so-called ‘teacher’, she found herself curious as to just who it was that had instructed him in the ancient language. Ur Kittat was practically a dead language, very few people existed in the galaxy with sufficient knowledge of it that could pass such knowledge on. Of course, Artorigas too was intrigued by history so it made sense that he well could have found one such being, Sah’ra completely in the dark on the truth of the matter.

”I would be delighted to accept your offer. Any opportunity to further my understanding of our ancient predecessors is always a welcome one,” Sah’ra responded, a very real sense of gratitude heard in her words. If she could gain a better grasp on the language, the possibilities of what could be learned even from her own collected scriptures seemed endless. Already this meeting was proving fruitful.

”Family heirlooms, mostly,” The woman continued, gently tapping the bottoms of both hands against the surface of the table. ”Many generations ago, my bloodline bore an influential member of the Sith who’s authority along the borders of Wild Space was immense. I’ve dedicated the last few years of my life to recovering and studying her recordings but much has been lost to time. Her holocron still eludes me, though I know it is out there somewhere,” As she finished speaking, Tren grunted in disdain for her elaboration on their work, slight irritation in his eyes. Before Sah’ra could respond however, two servants arrived with two glass chalices of wine as well as a plateful of some sort of aquatic creature and a bedding of vegetables. ”Why don’t you busy yourself with that, dear brother, and allow me to continue my discussion,”

"Well then perhaps we should do a little trade of information in the future. My translations for copies of what you have, always looking for a way to expand my library." He said with a smile. As the servants arrived with the food and wine, so did a glass of alcohol for Artorigas, though he had not asked the servants knew him well enough that he to would be interested in increasing the alcohol levels in his body. "To new friendships." Artorigas said raising his glass to the pair before taking a long gulp of the wine.

Almost as the glass touched the table the door behind him opened and Cornelia appeared a large leather bound tome within her hands. The book was large though not unnecessary so around forty centimetres in height and thirty in width about two thumbs thick and bound with a lock. As his sister placed the locked book upon the table before him, she gave both Artorigas and Sah'ra a bow before heading off. As she moved out of the room she began her training drills again levitating a pair of small balls before her.

Waving his hand across the lock he moved the mechanisms within with The Force a small click followed the lock falling free from the book. Artorigas then slid the tome over towards the women. "Please."

Raising her glass to match Artorigas’, Sah’ra offered her host a subtle nod of agreement to his proposal before placing the wine to her lips. Savoring the taste for a moment, she proceeded to place the chalice back to the table and watched as the young woman strode across the floor, the tome held firmly in both of her hands. Already Sah’ra was enamored by the leather-bound book. Already her mind raced at what knowledge may reside within its ancient and brittle pages. Already she wished desperately for an endless supply of hours to flip through it, cover to cover.

As the lock was removed and the tome slid towards her, she looked expectantly towards her host as though she were preparing for him to withdraw his offer at any given moment but when permission was given, she immediately began to examine it. Not what the pages said, not at first, but the dark taint that emanated from the tome. Hovering her right hand over it’s cover, she could feel the impression of its ancient author and while she did not know his name, she could feel his power.

Not wanting to touch the pages with her bare hands, Sah’ra proceeded to flip the cover open with the Force and began to attempt her own translation of what was written within. It was difficult with her limited knowledge of the ancient language but through the fog of uncertainty, she was able to pick out a few key words.

”This says… Kaas. Kaas City. And this…” Squinting her eyes and prodding her memory, Sah’ra struggled for a moment before the translation came to mind. ”This book was written by a practitioner of our ancient magics? Amazing!” The woman, absolutely enthralled by the scripture, continued to pour herself over the pages, flipping each with the Force as she read them to completion. ”Where did you find this? Could there be more?”

Artorigas' eyes never left Sah'ra as she examined the book, he watched as her eyes moved backwards and forwards across the letters, her mind slowly translating the language. Recognition of what was being read moving across his face, her lips speaking a few words silently and aloud. "It was written by Lord Andros, an ancient Sith who's greatest feat was his ability to understand how structures could augment The Force." Artorigas explained. Pointing over towards the main entrance to the hall. "Although this castle was never built with that in mind, that exact degree of bend in the stone arch above the entrance concentrates Force Energy to a position directly below it."

He took another drink of his wine, filling the cup as he went. "I found it in a tomb deep beneath the the grounds of Dromund Kaas, it was the only tome there and from what I understand he never wrote another." It was a fact the ancient Lord had told Artorigas himself, this was one of a kind. "Though I am sure there are hundreds of items such as this in the valleys of Dromund Kaas, Korriban and Moraband."

As Sah’ra continued to filter through the tome, she listened to Artorigas’ explanation of it’s origins. Lord Andros was a name that was foreign to her but it wasn’t uncommon for many Sith to fade away with the passing of time. Her own ancestor was little more than a footnote in the history of their order, her memory only kept alive through-out her own lineage. Even so, to dismiss any texts from long forgotten Sith was foolish; some of the galaxies greatest artists did not attain their fame until long after their deaths. So it was as well with Sith and Jedi alike.

”I’ve heard of architecture being used as an amplifier of one’s abilities but I had always surmised it to be beyond something so simple,” Sah’ra responded, her eyes still not leaving the tome. As she read, more familiar words began to pop out to her though a full translation remained beyond her scope. Despite this, she found herself entirely invested in what was contained within its pages. Moreover, she found herself fiending for more.

Finally, she would force herself to tear her eyes away from the pages and raise her attention to meet Artorigas’, the corner of her lips tugging upwards as the possibilities of what else may exist within his collections began to dawn on her. It seemed Wessex had much to offer, so perhaps an alliance between them both could serve her well. Gently wrapping her fingers around the glass of wine before her, she raised it in honor of her host as well as to signify her acceptance of his offer.

”Then perhaps we can discover more of these secrets together. To new friendships,” she mirrored his previous sentiment before placing the glass to her lips.
