ANISON, I-6
Drastus wasn't entirely sure about his presence on this particular op. The recent decrees from the Order had declared that 'All Padawans must be accompanied by a Jedi'. And here he was, tagging along with a Sector Ranger (which was pretty cool) and going to some sabotaged space station that hadn't seen use since the Clone Wars. Or at least, that was the hope. He had hoped that since he hadn't been assigned a Jedi Overwatch, that maybe the Council, or Max, whose brainchild the whole operation was, thought he was ready for some solo ops, or he had totally abandoned some Knight in a hangar somewhere expecting to see him and a Sector Ranger. Either way, he was just a tad jazzed up right now.

Clad in his armor, with his beskad and saber, he felt just about ready for anything. At least, that's the energy he wanted to give off to Ranger Sakas. He hadn't ever worked with a Ranger before, so he wanted to not only prove to them that he could be a good ally, but also make a fine representation of the Jedi. He was no fool, he knew that there were those amongst the Rangers who had misgivings about Force Users, and he couldn't blame them, nor would he hold it against them. As they sat in the cockpit of her ship, he would be looking up schematics for standard Haven-Class stations. He wanted to be somewhat prepared, then the thought of an old crossed path came to mind, an attempted and scraggly looked smuggler, who he assumed was a cop. He hadn't heard from him since Coruscant.

The helmet had been removed so she could see his face and he looked up, datapad resting in his lap as the other hand scratched his chin. "Question, you uhh.. you ever hear of a guy named Corran?" he knew it was a total longshot. What were the odds a Sector Ranger knew some Narc on Coruscant. "Blond, military rigid, probably some narcotics officer on Coruscant. I guess you could say he was objectively cute."

His eyes would flash down towards the datapad as he scrolled through recent reports from the AMS. "So... what if we get there, and it's just loaded with plague riddled monsters? Do we abandon it? Do we cleanse it?"

Babysitting wasn’t what Sakas had joined up to do as a Ranger but she would suck it up like she did all the other parts of the job she didn’t like. The Jedi had made a big song and dance about getting the Haven Medical Stations up and running again across the Galaxy. Given the recent pandemic she wasn’t against the idea – even if they weren’t able to cure it, having research and medical trials conducted on medical space stations made sense to her.

If things went well then they had the medical equipment and supplies to keep up the treatment and if the treatments didn’t work? Well space stations were modular so they could be shut down in different wards easily enough. And being in space meant they were quarantined by default which she approved of.

But her boss hadn’t put her on this mission just to fix the issues the station was facing – she was there to keep an eye on the Jedi. Sakas herself didn’t think much of the Jedi and the Rangers as a whole weren’t keen on them either. Velt was rather vocally anti-Jedi to the point that it was getting to the stage that the Ranger might end up having to go to sensitivity training for hating on a minority so much.

Sakas herself preferred a healthy dose of skepticism.

She raised an eye-ridge (she didn’t have eyebrows) at his line of questioning as her ship edged towards the dormant space station.

“… yeah I’ve heard of him.”
She admitted, vaguely amused, “He won’t thank you for that description though.”

As if Corran would thank a Jedi for doing anything other than rolling over dead.

“It’s not impossible that some infected people thought a medical station might be a good place to look for aid.”
She agreed before smirking and jerking a thumb behind her, “That’s what the rotary cannon in back is for. Alright Kid-Jedi here’s the play – I’m going to land the ship and you’re going out first. Make sure the hanger is secure and then I lock up and come out with the cannon at the ready.”

Better to have a cannon and not need to use it than to need it and have it collecting dust on the ship.

"Hah! So he is a cop. Ohh man.. Just let him know Francis sends his regards." Drast would say with a hearty laugh. "Yeah, that's fine with me."

He would listen to the game plan and nodded his head. She was definitely the senior in this op and he was more than willing to follow her instruction to the tee. "A rotary cannon? Woah. I've only seen one up close and pointed at me. It'll be nice to have it on my side. And uh, you can call me Drastus, if you like." he added with a shrug.

Fully geared up, he waited by the ramp as she landed the ship. He had a job to do and there was no way he was going to not complete it. Once the landing gear touched down, he'd descend the ramp into the station. There had definitely been a battle here, he just couldn't tell how long.. or how recent, it had been. Kneeling beside an expended energy cell, he'd curse. It was definitely recent. Very little if any dust had begun to gather on it. "I don't think we're alone, Ranger Sakas.." he'd say, his hand moving to rest on the holster at his side.
