Music
The beats were thumping, the strobe lights were flashing, there was a haze and the drinks were flowing. It was a rare event where Kai took the entire night off and he wasn’t running any smuggling jobs or working anything. He was on the planet since stealing the clues on finding the Siphoning Dagger. Honestly though? It could wait a day or two. He hadn’t let loose in ages, and tonight was the night.

The Fiani was dressed in a jacket and some form fitting jeans. His hair was actually styled and his studded ears sat proudly atop his head. His tail had been freshly brushed and looked fantastic, swaying playfully as he made his way through the crowds. The Fiani got himself a shot, throwing it back as the crowds danced and mingled on the floor behind him. Kai was also hopped up on spice, his single eye slightly redder than usual.

“Oh my GOSH! THOSE EARS! Are they real?”

Kai turned around, flashing the cute twi'lek a grin, revealing his fangs, “As real as these, baby,” He said as he pretended to snap his jaw with the fangs. The girl yelped, but giggled soon after, "But I only bite if you want me to," He said with a playful swish of his tail. Too easy. Kai moved onto getting her a drink shortly after. For once he had some cash to blow and he didn’t mind wasting it on a pretty thing or two.

Maeve had been preparing herself for weeks - Mustafar had left her as angry as she hadn't been in ages. She was normally the actress that double-crossed them all, the manipulator that normally kept the strings in her own hand, but in the case of the one-eyed fox boy, she had to admit that she had let her guard down.

Maybe it had been because she hadn't been crossed in ages, maybe the damn fluffy ears had fooled her just enough. She now knew though that the fox was a problem and as revenge was sweet, she was looking forward to this day. Fiani were easy to spot and that was a huge disadvantage for him. Maeve had excellent networking in the underworld and so locating him (especially after they had both been employed by the same contractor), had been possible after all.

It seemed like the crooked fluff enjoyed some time off in a club at night and so Maeve had been following right after. At first, she had literally considering simply killing him off and acquiring whatever credits his lifeless body would still get her, but where was the fun in that? He had begun a dangerous game and she intended to continue it, so the darts in her little box were carefully filled with the right dose of Renatyl. The slim fox simply couldn't weight more than a 150 and so she was ready to go.

She wore nothing too fancy, yet appropriate for the occasion, but the dark colors allowed her to move through the crowd without drawing too much attention. As she moved through the masses, some random jerks grinded against her every now and then and she simply played along, having her target in mind the whole time, but it took a little while until she finally spotted the Fiani at the bar - obviously with some company.

The Twi'Lek girl served her just while - while Kai was entrenched in the playful, classic bar banter, Maeve approached from the crowd, subtly walked up to him with the strobe lights serving as great cover, before she was right behind him. The discrete, little, silvery box she had drawn from her black purse and once the delicate dart was inbetween her fingers, she had minded those around her carefully to avoid any bumps.

As she reached the sly fox boy from behind the bar stool, all she whispered into his ear was a soft, "Missed me?", before she plucked the dart into his thigh, her hand covering the tiny weapon professionally before she pretended to run her hand across the legs with the emptied dart on the ground.

Given his fur and the tiny needle, she assumed he wouldn't even feel the prick, especially not with the alcohol in his system, but once he'd got up from his chair, he'd feel the effects of the sedative right away. "I feel like you owe me at least a dance", she ignored the other woman, throwing Kai a relatively flirtatious smile. He'd probably know something was off or would possibly assume revenge sex was Maeve's coping mechanism, but she couldn't wait for this all to unfold.

He felt someone brush against his legs and his tail swatted at it on instinct, but the damage was already done. Kai looked over when the new girl came into the scene. Initially he whistled and went to buy another drink, “There’s enough of me to go around for both of you,” He said with a smirk before he squinted. This girl…looked familiar. Very familiar. The realization hit him at once and his eye widened. Why couldn’t he have a single night off?

Shit. The last time they parted ways, Kai had locked her in a room after stunning her. The fact that she was here smiling and being cute meant very bad news. He had been a crook all his life, and he knew it was all an act. He just didn’t realize her angle yet.

“Ah…you…Diamond, right?” Kai asked. He was terrible with names, but he recalled her using an alias that was a gem of some sort. He gave her an adorable smile and attempted a bullshit apology to make her leave, “So.. I was a bit of a jackass. I thought you were setting me up so..” His words began to slur. He didn’t realize he had been drugged, “Maybe we can work something out, darling,” Kai said as he moved to stand.

And then dropped like a brick.

The twi’lek girl screamed, looked at Maeve and ran off. Kai felt completely weak and dizzy. However, instead of panicking, he glared at the floor. It dawned on him what happened. Ruby or whatever looked way too pleased with herself to not have a hand in this. He remained prone where he was, unable to move. However, she did choose to do this in a very public place, which meant it wouldn’t be long before people started to gather and notice.

To her surprise, it didn't just take a while until he remembered her face, but he didn't even look that nervous yet. Did he really think she'd let bygones be bygones? Poor fox. He'd learn it the hard way then. With the sedatives in his system, she knew it was only a matter of moments, but for now she played along.

"Oh you remember!", whether it was sheer malice or he was just a douche, she couldn't quite tell, but as she found both likely, her smirk just widened. "Oh come on...we're fine". Oh they were everything but fine, but he'll get a sneak peak of who she really was soon enough. "Let's have some fun" - she was certain they would have a lot of fun soon enough.

Kai slipped out of his chair, his words already slurring before he suddenly dropped down. At first, she appeared shocked, just like the rest of the bystanders before she covered her mouth. "Oh babe...you're such a lightweight", she giggled amusedly as she squatted down, softly patting his head. "Let's get you to bed to sober up", warm, caring and sweet - she gave a convincing performance as she helped him up and shouldered him.

"I'll take goood care of you, babe", she purred warmly as she started walking - partly dragging him across the floor. He was a little heavier than he looked, but Maeve had purposely skipped her training routine to get his unconscious body out of there. One of the club's security staff approached soon approached them, looking relatively concerned.

"He'll be fine! Just had a little too much fun at the bar. That's not the first time and my foxy doxy is always lucky his girlfriend is a nurse", she told them reassuringly, a sweet smile on her lips. She pivoted her hip a little, so that the guy could pull out her hospital badge - it was a fake ID, but a pretty good fake. She was a professional after all and planning things through was something she had neglected on Mustafar, so this was different.

Maeve would then carry on, hoping Kai wouldn't drool all across her dress in the meantime. "Are you down for some fun, Kai?", she whispered to him as they were approaching the entrance, doubting he'd be able to respond, but she was counting on him understanding her still. Her goal was the outside, where she'd order a taxi, but she was double checking his breathing every now and then.

He cursed everyone mentally and had no way to stop her. He was dragged along, trying to project things with his eye, but of course no one believed it. Kai wanted nothing more than to claw the skin off her face, but she had the upper hand here. All he could do was seethe in silence as all his muscles refused to work.

When they got into the cab, he flopped over to avoid her, pressing his face against the window to try and look helpless. His ears drooped and his tail was limp, a spike of fear swirling at the pit of his stomach. He had been in this line of business long enough to know how ruthless other crooks could be. He kicked himself internally for getting into this situation and for letting his guard down.

His thoughts began to trail off as the drugs took hold. In the end, he completely passed out, his head dropping into her lap. His ears twitched every now, his fur warm and cozy. There was even some purring as he went into a deep sleep, his face unexpectedly peaceful in his slumber. He was completely at her mercy and oblivious to the world.

Within further incidents, the pair reached the cap. Maeve carefully squeezed him inside before she took a seat next to him, a genuinely triumphant smile on her lips. Her plan had gone smoothly so far, but he had no idea what he had just gotten into.

While he was somewhat leaned against the window at first, his body soon lost the battle and he was knocked out cold. What bothered her internally was that he was somehow adorable while in his deep slumber right then. Like a little puppy, his head was draped across her lap, sleeping all safe and sound while even letting out little purrs of content sleep.

How could this sweet, sleeping fluff be so cruel and twisted? Well, she had learned it the hard way and it was payback time now. Their ride wasn't extraordinarily long and soon after she was busy getting the fully limp Kai into the hotel. Charming her way into getting the concierge to help her lift him into the elevator wasn't hard, but once they were upstairs, dragging him into her room was tearing at her strength.

As she finally had him inside and on the bed though, she opened her luggage that was safely stored in the room and rummaged through it until she had her pair of handcuffs. Within a few moments she had him fixated on the bed, both wrists tied to the head section of the bed, which finally gave her time to freshen up for a moment.

It would be a little while until he'd regain consciousness, that was why she made herself comfortable on the armchair facing the bed, legs crossed and casually scrolling through the holonet why she waited for him to wake up, very curious about his initial reaction.

He stirred eventually, nuzzling cozily in bed till he realized he wasn’t supposed to be in a bed. His hair stood on end and he jerked away, trying to move. He soon realized his hands were bound. His heart began to pound against his chest, his eye searching till he spotted Ruby or Diamond or whatever. Kai couldn’t help the low, guttural growl that reverberated from his throat to his chest. However, he kept his cool - nothing ever got done without keeping your wits about.

Kai exhaled and tilted his head to regard her, his tail swishing to alert her that he was awake, “I’m disappointed,” He said, “You neither changed into a hot leather outfit nor do you have a whip,” He remarked before he tested the cuffs. Nope, he wasn’t getting out anytime soon. And he knew nothing she planned would be fun.

The Fiani considered his options, calming himself down from the panic that threatened to surface. He exhaled and gazed up at the ceiling, “You have me where you want. Get on with it,” He said gruffly, his eye narrowing.

As he began stirring, she did note that he was indeed a little scared. Good. He deserved it and she had apperently reached one of her goals already. He also quickly realized that there was no way out, unless she'd decide it was time for him to leave, so she slowly got up, ocean blue eyes resting on him as she walked to one side of the bed, squatting down.

"Sorry to disappoint you. I had everything with me, but in the end I thought you didn't deserve it", she shrugged, playfully tilting her head to the side. "Not even when you're in a dangerous situation you're losing your wit...remarkable". She let out a little scoff before she got back up, keeping a safe distance, knowing that even in chains the fox probably had a few tricks up his sleeve.

"Get on with it? What exactly do you think I'm doing here?", she asked rather sweetly, however looking down at him rather provocatively. She was curious to find out what he thought was happening and she enjoyed torturing him with the uncertainty. As if this wasn't bad and suggestive enough, she reached behind her back, opened the button of her dress and slowly continued with the zipper.

"You know you're pretty cute when you're asleep", it was obviously veiled mockery, but her tone was honey as she had the dress open and slipped out of it, letting the dark fabric fall onto the floor. "Is this your first time getting a chick to chain you up involuntarily?", she would let his thoughts run wild. She was certain that if she continued her show just a little longer, it was just getting worse for him. He knew he was in a shitty situation but she wasn't yet revealing her grande plan, enjoying the little chat way too much.

“What can I say? I’m in dangerous situations often,” He said with a smirk. It was true - it wasn’t like he slipped and lost an eye playing bingo. The Fiani kept his gaze on her, not falling for her nonsense, “Nothing good,” He responded when she asked what he thought was going to happen. Kai didn’t trust anyone, and especially not people that he had screwed over prior. All the same, his eye coasted back over to her when she started undressing. What the hell? His brow quirked as he watched her, the dress effortlessly sliding down to her ankles.

His eye flicked up and down her body before he looked away, “Seen better,” He said nonchalantly, his tail lazily swaying side to side. She was stunning, but he wasn't about to admit that while he was furious. Kai’s mind was on ways to break out, his claws extended as he discreetly attempted to reach the lock. He looked back at her briefly, keeping his gaze on her eyes and not letting it drop below the neckline, “There’s a hot twi’lek back at the club whose number I want, so let’s move this along, shall we?” Kai said tersely, “What do you want? I have other jobs I’ll run and I can score you a nice cut,” It was true - his network was expansive. If it was credits she was after, he could arrange for it in a mutually beneficial deal.

For now he did his best to avoid gawking at her. He had seen enough scantily clad women to not be fazed so easily.

She fully believed him when he mentioned being in such dangerous situations often. She knew the thrill that followed when you did someone really dirty. That's why she changed places so often, yet she had to admit that this here had been really twisted and if she had been him, she wouldn't have expected the entrance she has given at the club either. But well, he was chained up now, getting what he deserved and not vice versa.

His remark drew a smirk from her that accompanied a mild scoff. Was that his top tier insult? Well, then he had a lot to learn still, but it didn't stop her from continuing her little theatrical performance. "Clever boy", she commented as he voiced the certainty about her actually having different intentions as he was totally right, yet the teasing part was more than fun.

His tail was neatly placed on the mattress next to him and her gaze quickly drifted down towards it, a more devilish smirk tugging at her lips then. "No. I won't let you run a job eventually with the false promise of money. You'll transfer me the exact sum of credits that had been promised after our shared heist right now", she stated her conditions before she reached into her luggage and slipped out some clothes.

While squeezing into a black leggins, she kept his gaze on him. "It's one click on your phone. I'll set you free after the confirmation. If you don't have the credits accessible right now, you'll have to get creative", she gave him a little wink as she continued with a lacey top. Her terms weren't negotiable, but he'll find that out soon enough depending on his reply.

“False promise?” He growled, glaring at her, “You set me up on that job by bringing the Sith in. You’re just mad I conned you before you could see your shit through,” He said gruffly. It was then that she would realize their entire episode had been over a complete misunderstanding. Kai had believed that she brought in her Sith ‘lover’ to trap him, when in fact his appearance had surprised her just as much. Kai would have done the job as planned otherwise. If they had simply talked about it, none of this would have happened.

He scoffed at her request for the money, “I don’t have it,” Kai said. It was the truth - his funds went to pay off his insurmountable debts and a portion secretly to his mother that no one knew about. Kai watched her dress, this time unable to help but drop his gaze as she bent over and he saw the full cleavage. He quickly looked away out of spite, huffing to himself.

“Let me go and I’ll show you creative,” Kai said under his breath with a half growl.

"Sent a Sith in? I haven't invited him, this was no set up", she clarified, however fully doubting he was being serious. Perhaps it was just another excuse- now that he was all chained up, what else was he supposed to do? "You're saying you robbing me was just a misunderstanding?", she still asked, crossing her arms in front of her chest before she continued with the top.

She was unfazed by his glances, even if she clearly saw he was studying her closely. "Don't start drooling", she then remarked with a smirk, adjusting the top before she stepped a little closer again. "Of course you don't", while shaking her head, she dove for her luggage once again, pulling out a slick metal box.

"Alright then...I was hoping it wouldn't come to that", she let out a dramatic sigh before she clicked it open, revealing a little syringe filled with a hint of light blue liquid. It was obviously sterile - she was no monster - but she doubted he believed her in this. Without further ado she went over to his bound arms and pricked the fine needle under in skin once again, emptying the content.

"This will be my insurance. You have...hmm I guess at least six hours or you'll start experiencing an excruciatingly slow, painful death. I've got the antidote stored somewhere else. I'll come with you and ensure you'll either earn or steal my money back, or I'm afraid this will be our last meeting...", she trailed off, giving him a sweet smile. The truth was, the liquid was absolutely nothing but sodium chloride with a hint of color, but him thinking he had been injected with a ticking time bomb was enough to make sure he was serious about it. "Do we have a deal?", she then leaned forward, reaching for the cuffs, her face relatively close to his.

“What?” He growled when she blurted out that she hadn’t invited the Sith. He didn’t believe her for a second, but he couldn’t deny for a moment there was genuine surprise on her face, “He wouldn’t have known to show up at the archives looking for you if you hadn’t invited him,” He said through gritted teeth. The Sith showed up just for her and she expected Kai to believe she hadn’t asked him to come?! Get real.

He attempted to curl his legs up and kick her, but she was just out of reach. Fear was clear in his eye as he felt that needle, and he growled at her like a wild animal, “Bitch,” He hissed through gritted teeth, “You need a fucking hobby if you spent all this time trying to do all this. You could’ve stood on a street corner and earned the money back yourself,” Kai said, his tail flicking erratically. In the end, he exhaled and calmed down, knowing that time was ticking.

“There is a casino in the Pink District,” He said icily, “It has a display case on the third floor containing one of the crown jewels of Alderaan,” Kai explained quickly, “It’ll get you your money’s worth and beyond that,” He glared at her.

Her rather mischievous glare turned into genuine irritation as he kept arguing about Salvos. "I have not invited him. Why the kriff would would I invite a Sith while we're stealing from their archives?", it didn't even make sense. He was clearly delirious, or perhaps desperate in his attempt to justify how he screwed her over.

"You won't believe me anyway, but I'll tell you anyway: He knew I was there and he came to find me. Not sure how he located me, but why would I send a Sith at you?", she squinted, clearly confused about his arguments. "I'm not a pimp. You really thought I wanted to sell you? We could have both screwed him over real good, but you've decided to cross my plans", she explained plainly.

It had been the truth. They could have both followed him to his quarters. "I was honestly assuming we could easily overthrow him together. He would have been the one chained to a bed, but alas...". It had been her origin plan, but people were bad, as she had now learned, Fiani were even worse, so here they were.

"I'm a classy lady, Kodi. I do get my hands dirty if a job calls for it, but I'm not letting others screw me without consequences. Also, this here is perhaps more fun than it would have been with the Sith - you still look absolutely adorable when you're feisty", she threw him a grin.

"That sounds like a plan. If you attempt any funny business, you'll regret it", she added, her voice soft as she finally reached for the cuffs. "I've got a few more pairs of eyes in this city. They'll be watching too", another bluff, but who cared. She had a great networking, but this night had called for a little improvisation. "Let's go get jewels then". With that, she unlocked his restraints and immediately stepped back, eyeing him carefully. Without letting him out of sight, she packed her equipment and gave him a nod then. "Care to lead the way?".

Her story sounded like bullshit, but the more he considered it, the more it made sense. Why would she invite a Sith over if she intended to steal from them? Then again, perhaps she had planned to pin it all on him - but wouldn’t that just draw attention to the fact that the books were being stolen to begin with? His mind was buzzing with thoughts and he began to wonder if he misjudged things. However, he would rather eat a lemon than admit he may have been wrong.

As soon as she released him, he half considered knocking her out. However, after her psychopathic episodes so far, he was convinced she had shady friends in the city. Kai bristled, the tip of his tail twitching to betray his rage. He silently led the way, guiding them out of the hotel and towards the streets.

“The first level is where the gambling takes place,” Kai explained, “To allow me the chance to nab the jewel, you’ll have to cause a scene…but it has to be something stupid - not enough to get kicked out or call in additional authorities, just something that gets everyone looking at you. I’ll use that window to sneak up and steal it,” He said, clearly having thought about stealing this before, “Fortunately security is a bit lax on the third floor so it won’t be an issue. I’ll find you again and give it to you in exchange for the antidote.”

In truth, he wondered if she actually had an antidote or was planning on letting him shrivel up and die at the end of this. Unfortunately she had the upper hand here and he had no choice but to oblige. He was bristling with anger, but he kept a calm resolve for now. He just wanted to get this over with.

Even if he didn't seem convinced, he appeared to consider her words though. It was the truth and it was logical enough, but she didn't need him to buy it anyway. What mattered was that she could pursue her plan, regain her money and be done with it. She followed him, her gaze still attentive and studying his every movement, but he remained docile for now while 'the poison in his veins spread, she figured.

She didn't like his plan. Not at all. He now had even more reason to cross her again and she didn't like it. It was the very reason for her having to become so creative to build all of these safety nets spun with lies and bluffs. She had plenty of leverage, she finally figured, so she nodded.

"Sounds doable. I'll try to buy you as much time as possible", she finally replied, glancing over to him. "Deal. Giving someone a word matters little in our branch, I know, but we'll both profit if we get this over with". Credits for her, survival for him. Lol. They crossed a bunch of dark streets, approaching the casino quickly.

It was still buzzing with activity which didn't surprise her as they were in the middle of the night, but her mind was busy analyzing possible opportunities and creating a bunch of backup plans. "You ready?". She had her eyes on the exits, too, as soon as they entered. If things went South, she was certain she'd find her way out,

He said nothing as she implied they would both profit. If he was furious at her comparisons, it didn’t show on his face. There was a shift in his demeanor as it became clear he went into work mode. He may have had his particular traits and irritations, but he knew when to be professional. The entire episode earlier at least allowed him to stop being drunk and spiced up like before. He didn’t even want to think what new bullshit she injected in him.

They stepped into the casino and it was bustling with activity. This wasn’t a particularly wealthy planet, but powerful people dwelled in this establishment. There were girls walking around with trays of drinks and various aliens playing at the tables. Kai spotted a spiraling staircase that led to the upper levels. He also saw a repulsorlift, but it was for staff only.

“See those guards?” He jutted his chin as he pointed out the gamorreans at various entrances, “Go chat with one of them so I can take a keycard,” Kai said. This plan had a few steps and if she did her part, they would make it out without setting off alarms.

Maeve was no longer amused but relatively focused already. She didn't trust him, but she trusted in his will to survive, so she believed he'd at least stay true to their mission goal this time. She glanced around and tried to make out cameras, but only found a few in the corners of the grande gambling hall.

They appeared to be overseeing the whole room, yet she assumed that the guards watching them couldn't pay attention to all the detail. Footage could become a problem later on, but she planned being off this planet by then anyway, so for now she calculated angles that would allow her to to operate on the down low.

She wasn't sure how she felt about him calling the shots, but he was the one supposed to steal the wares, so she did nod her head. "Very well...good luck. Once your upstairs I'll draw attention towards me". She had seen him acquiring keycards swiftly before, so she did trust him here and thus went her way.

She cleared her throat whilst still out of ear shot before she started to look around as if a little lost before she headed towards the Gamorrean. "Hey...excuse me, but I can't find the sabacc tables...would you mind pointing me into the right direction? I seem to have gotten a little lost...". A grim huff followed before the guard pointed at about eight o'clock.

"Back there? I'm pretty sure I just passed the tables and they were onto something else", she squinted, studying the table from afar. "Ooh, no, nevermind. Wrong table, I believe I see it". The guard was eying her for another moment so as if weighting her words, deciding whether she was blind, tipsy or perhaps just confused - maybe even behaving a little odd, but their exchange gave Kodi enough time to play his little game of bump and acquire.

Kai let her take the lead and he became part of the crowd that milled in and out of the casino. He lightly bumped into the gamorrean, mumbling an apology as he passed. The touch was so light that even Maeve would be impressed by the pickpocketing job. He suddenly disappeared entirely and she would be left wondering if he just bailed. However, if she looked over to the service elevator, she would see that it was activated. This meant he was progressing to the third floor.

The next part was where he really needed her to make a scene and keep the attention on her. Kai did his part by stepping out into the third floor and scoping out his surroundings. It was empty so far, and he was light on his feet. When someone walked by, he fell into step right behind them, making no noise as he slinked into an alcove to the side when they turned a corner. He came out after a moment, snaking his way towards the prize.

A quick glance around confirmed that security was just as lax as he expected. This allowed him to spot the case with the jewel in it. As long as Ruby or whatever did her part, he would pluck the gem without issue. The keycard he nabbed allowed him to open up a terminal panel and switch off the laser sensors.

Kai stepped forth, lifted the glass case and plucked the jewel right from its perch.

The guard kept an eye on her as she walked away towards the sabacc table, her eyes scanning the gambling and cheering crowd. It seemed like the game was already approaching its peak and so the atmosphere was cooking. Maeve threw a quick glance towards the elevator, realizing that Kodi was gone and so she just prayed he - for once - did what he was supposed to.

Once she had joined the crowd, she squeezed herself in a little to get a better view on the game and to reach a spot where it was body pressed against body. The constant contact allowed her to skillfully slip a hand into one of the bystanders pocket, just to retrieve some kind of an ancient pocket watch.

She was a little confused, but assumed it was supposed to be wager for a game later on, but it was fair enough. She waited for the fitting moment and slipped the watch into another gentleman's pocket before she looked down at him in shock. "Hey! I saw that! Sir, he stole your watch!", Maeve exclaimed indignantly.

What she absolutely didn't know was that the owner of the watch was not playing and so without thinking, he just swung for the supposed thief. Maeve managed to move out of the way in the last second, but as the fist collided with the jaw, she heard a bone snap. For a moment she froze up, her mouth flapped open before chaos erupted all around.

A few high pitched shrieks echoed through the room while there were suddenly fists swung everywhere. She ducked and with a lowered head, she began to move out of the epicenter of the wild, escalated conflicts, but as the guards started piling in, she received a hard elbow into her ribs.

She flinched strongly, not sure whether a bone had snapped as well, but she was suddenly in severe pain as she grasped her side and hurried towards the nearest exit. She knew without Kodi, she couldn't just leave, but the mass brawl seemed to climax within moments. There were angry shouts and she now realized that the casino was literally filled with all kinds of scum and apperently two rivalry gangs, too.

Where was the fucking fox. They had to get out of here quickly. She reached a glass door and waited for it to slide open, but then she realized how it was already locked. Fun. So this way out wasn't even working. The turmoil grew even louder as the mass panic of those not involved in the fist fights tried to escape, but as blaster bolts and pained cries filled the air, her eyes widened in horror.

Suddenly it was about survival of the fittest and while the sprinklers went off, Maeve raced to the next exit door, the pain blurring her vision. Blaster bolts were recklessly fired all around and suddenly a burning pain ran through her arm as one narrowly grazed her. She let out a loud hiss, but continued on with gritted teeth, her clothes drenched in water and her head spinning. Kodi meanwhile would have an easy job and could, once he went back down, slip right through the nearest exit that Maeve only reached a few moments later - panting, with a trace of charred flesh and a bruised or broken rib.

"FUCK", she growled, the white of her knuckles clearly visible as she clenched her fists. "You've...got it?", she wanted to know - this was what mattered at least, the rest she could fix later.
