Vicondor is a remote planet, but it does have it's own goverment that is rather determined it doesn't need to be loyalty to either aide. Launch a false flag attack on them, frame the Galatic Alliance, and make them reconsider their position.
Vicondor
20:08 local time

Nearby just 30 miles from one of the major population hubs of the planet Vicondor is a rather sedate little town. This part of the planet was a rather open temperate zone where it was easy for someone to within 20 minutes of venturing out of any city's outskirts to end up in the middle of nature. Most of the movement tended to be from one city to another along prepared land routes. They were quite striking displays as they weaved through the natural hills and terrain with views of large hills and traveling in the middle of valleys. You could even see sections of the earth that were carved out to make way for the new transportation lifelines.

This town was like many a branching off point from one of these highways. In fact from some of the hills you could down at the Highway as the town was placed on one of the surrounding hills. It was simple and rustic as that was the lifestyle adopted by it's inhabitants. It saw many faces but few stayed with most just focused on reaching the next destination. This town was just a pit stop. A place to rest, buy some new supplies for the road and forget about once you left. That was fine with the locals, farmers that toiled away in their own worlds bringing crops to market, Shopkeeps who ran inns, taverns and stores to cater to both the influx of travelers and the residing populace, and other people who enjoyed a nice quiet life where one could live out their transcendentalist desires in peace.

Something unusual would happen though on a cool autumn night that was for all intents and purposes just like any other autumn night. As the labor of the day petered off, the already quiet town becoming dead quiet as only idle orange lights lit it up. Inside the town bar were many patrons and travelers who mingled together. The sweet elixir of alcohol was flowing around, as stories of the days events, encounters with wildlife and the tales of distant worlds were passed around. Suddenly though the normal habits and routines would be interrupted by a figure bursting into the establishment.

It was a woman wearing a brown hooded cloak. The cloak was tattered and torn up with the discerning eye able to make out points where the robe was cut into and the woman received deep cuts. She was breathing heavily and visibly distraught as she made for the nearest corner of the bar which was to her right. She ran for it and then huddled in a upright fetal position, shivering and quivering her face hidden from all the patrons. A deep uncomfortable silence now falling upon the room as everyone looked at the girl, wanting to know the nature of her problems but at the same time paralyzed hoping that someone else would break the silence.

No one dared to move though except for one. The Town Sheriff a simple humble man of the people, felt obliged to get up from his stool at the bar and approach the woman. Getting within a meter of her trying to check up on her condition, and state.

"Hey. Are you ok? What's the matter?" He asked in a calm tenderly voice like a father comforting his son after a bad nightmare. Though sadly the woman seemed unresponsive as she rocked backed and forth mumbling softly to herself. It was so quiet that to the Sheriff it seemed like something that the girl was likely unaware she was even doing.

The Sheriff then very slowly reached his hand out towards the hood that obscured the face of this woman. Before his fingers could touch the hood the figure shifted and leaned away.

"n-n-nn-no d-don't look at me. I- I- I- I- I'm a monster. Th- They'll just get me anyways." The woman's voice sounded distant even when responding to the Sheriff. Like she was trapped inside her own world haunted and tormented by the visions and voices that destroyed her inner being.

"Hey, listen to me. Your safe now. No one here is out to hurt you. Now I want to help you. OK we got a doctor, and, and if you need a safe space our little part of the world would be willing to provide. But you got to help me help you. I need to know if your ok and what's going on. You got a name? " The words seemed to resonate with the girl as she slowed and seemed to stabilize a tiny bit.

"Ok... My my name is Skyler." The girl slowly looked up to the Sheriff very slowly. While the shadow caused by the hood obscured her face a bit it was immediately clear to the sheriff what he saw. He saw a face marred by burn scars that shot up the right side of her face. The Sheriff's face remained unmoved though it was clear in his eye movements that he flinched a little internally. The most distinctive feature though was the right eye of the girl. It was a sickly yellow all the way to the pupil which alternated from normal pitch black to dark red.

Present day

In the days that proceeded Skyler explained that she was running from some people that wanted her dead for a reason she didn't understand. She lived a few hundred kilometers away in a rural part of land. Her injuries were sustained from a house fire in the middle of winter that killed her parents and nearly killed her. She was saved by a hunter who investigated the fire. She had that yellow eye ever since. She lived with him in a cabin until recently when a mysterious man and woman arrived. Skyler and the hunter initially served dinner with a lot of intrusive questions about the eye. Eventually though tried to grab her and killed her adopted father in the process. They declared her a cancer that had to be wiped out.

The people of the village suddenly when faced with this dilemma sheltered the girl. The doctor gave her a free check up astonished she managed to survive severe wounds she sustained in her past. The Sheriff had offered a guest room in his house for her to stay in. The community came together to help this random innocent girl.

Skyler would peer out at the forest. Morning sunlight shining beautiful bright rays onto the village. Skyler was enjoying some tea a small smile was on her face as she looked over to the slowly awakening Sheriff.

"Thank you. I... don't know what I would do If I didn't come across you." She said with a sweet smile upon her face.

"Don't mention it" The Sheriff said before breaking out in a long yawn.

This is going just perfectly Amur thought to herself, as her cover story and identity was happily eaten up by these villagers. They had no idea for what was really in store for them.

Deep in the forest stood Darth Kados by his speeder with a pair of binoculars in hand, looking over the little town. The sun was steadily rising, starting the new day for the innocent people of the little town. He couldn't deny that, as a priest, he felt guilty over this. These people were just doing the decent thing like anybody else would.

But on the flipside, would they have treated a Dark Sider as well as this? Technically they already were, but one could easily explain that by their ignorance. One could reason for hours over the good and bad of this situation. He would admit, though, that he was curious over the Acolyte's alias. Something about the name stirred something in her.

The sun's glimmer caught the lenses of his binoculars, giving a faint flare only Skyler would be able to see. She knew the plan. And she was playing along nicely. He lowered his binoculars and looked to his companion. "She's in position. I think we've waited long enough." he commented. He put his binoculars away and looked his gear over. His armour was simple and rugged, in typical rebel fashion. his heavy pistols and medium pistols were hidden under his coat. His red lightsabers were not on him this time and neither were his knife or Lanvarok. Instead he was geared with the blue lightsaber he got off a certain Jedi thorn in his side. The emitter was different but otherwise it was the same lightsaber. Thankfully he had a spare yellow one as well that he borrowed for Kalanda.

"You ready?" he asked her casually, seating himself on his speeder.

Kalanda stared down at the pistol in her hand, her thoughts going back to that village on Ziost not all that long ago. She murdered a child and their mother there, with a blaster not that different from this one. Now she was about to do it again. It was wrong, she knew that, this wasn't the 'proper' way to conduit oneself...but this served a goal. These people were vulnerable without the Empire to protect them. They were weak, just like she had been so many years ago. So, if anything, this would be a kindness. Kill a dozen to save a thousand...least, that was the idea. Weither it worked that way or not, it wasn't for her to say. If these people had just joined them this wouldn't have needed to happen. Her feelings were...mixed to say the least, but she wasn't going to let that get in the way.

Mid's words pulled her attention away from her self reflection, as she stowed the pistol on her hip holster and climbed onto the Ranger speederbike that she had come to love to hate. The lightsaber at her side felt odd, and she couldn't help but be amused at how she felt exposed without her personal saber at her side. "I'm ready." She muttered, not entirely comfortable with what she was about to do, but it needed to be done for the greater good. She was glad to have Mid here at least, his presence was something she had come to appreciate. She would need it for the times ahead, but for now she would bury that small bit of guilt down deep. In time it would stop bothering her, and eventually she would learn to live with it, just as she had on Ziost. She pulled back on the throttle of the speeder, as it whined, rearing to go. "Let's get this over with." Kalanda spoke, as she would embark on her newly committed sin.

You could say many things about what was about to happen. When She told them as Skyler that she was a monster it was to a degree true. That's the thing about lying it works best when their is an element of truth to ground it. She didn't like people looking at her form, her skin like this giving her pity and 'thoughts and prayers'. It made everything more believable. She also hayed the name she given them: Skyler. An alias that ironically enough was once her true name. She hated that searing reminder of being a fool, an aloof idealist that could so eagerly attach to anything that looked like the goodness of people. There was always predators looking to latch on and exploit.

Yet her she was being a predator exploiting the same thing. She chose that name Skyler deliberately though. She was using it as a channel. A way to think back to her old self, her old feelings. It made it that much easier to seemingly bond with these people. They did look after her, she was being cared for and several people had checked up on her and offered miscellaneous supplies and hand-me-downs. But it was ultimately a mere act, no matter how much she had to convince herself to stay in the role and believe that she was Skyler.

Noticing the glare from the woods knowing that it was the other co-conspirators of this operation. She back towards the Sheriff briefly who was rubbing his eyes and fixing himself up a caffeinated cup of tea. It was sad in a way, while she barely knew the man, she definitely knew that he would have been a much father to her than her real one. Amur never had the impression that he cared for her other than to just be something to show others at parties as he focused more on maintaining his status and image. She now she was about to remove someone who may have been the light for some poor messed up kid. Maybe he could live.

Still this would serve a point a ripple that would terrify and empower people to a decision point. One that would further the goals of the Empire, helping the empire meant she could use it to rise up in it, and maybe help retain some stability. Do that and well she was in a better position to make things her way rather than have to abide to the power structures that enslaved all who lie below. Yes rationalize it like that. Even though ever since Mandalore there was a tinge of pain when doing stuff like this. She now could of sworn she felt the gaze of someone silently judging her.

"So-something's out there!" Skyler said dropping her cup of tea causing the mug to shatter into pieces. The cup crashing caused the tired sheriff to spring to life as he rushed over to attend to the girl. Skyler then pointed out to the distance where the unmistakable trail and movement of speeders were heading towards the town. Like the horsemen of the apocalypse.

"I'm scared. I... I feel like it could be them." The Sheriff gently grabbed Skyler by the Shoulders and looked into her mismatched eyes.

Alright, stay inside and stay away from the windows. Lock the doors and don't open them for anybody but me. I won't let them hurt you." The Sheriff said a small smile forming from his lips.

"Trust me everything is going to be fine." The Sheriff said as a final reassuring goodbye.

"Ok" Skyler meekly replied in faux fear.

The Sheriff now turned away fixing on his hat, throwing on his jacket and holstering his service blaster. He would head out to the town to meet the two intruders. Expecting it to be some travelers stopping for a rest. Believing that Skyler was just being paranoid from being on the run. Still he knew that he might have to defend the town and maintain the law ready to protect and serve the few hundred people that lived here. He approached the two new comers.

The two Sith raced through the forest, leaving a bit of a dust trail behind them. Mid maneuvered into a different position to enter the town through the front. He knew Amur would be able to see them coming and she knew her part of the plan. He trusted her with this. Interestingly enough, he felt an odd sensation in the force. He wasn't the only one with reservations over this mission. But that wasn't important right now. As long as it didn't get in the way, then they would be fine.

As they neared the town they slowed down until they entered with a walking pace. Once in the town center they came to a halt and Mid disembarked. As he straightened out, the sheriff came walking out of his building. Two other men followed him. They didn't look like official deputies, perhaps they were what passed for the town's defence force. They flanked the two 'Jedi' as if it would do them any good. Mid looked down at the sheriff through his visor. Thank goodness all his features were covered up. "I presume you're the town's form of law enforcement?" he asked calmly yet flatly. Devoid of emotion.

"I guess you can call me that." he said plainly. He looked Mid and Kalanda over just as Mid looked him and his friends over. "I don't want to keep you occupied, sir, but we're looking for someone. A young girl. She most likely came through here. Badly burnt face and an eye that looks off. Like a sickly yellow. Have you seen her?" he asked, elevating his voice for the rest of the town to hear.

Navigating through the forests, Kalanda had to focus on driving so she didn't kill herself as they drove into town. She hated driving speeders. She didn't know anything about Amur, but Mid seemed oddly okay with the woman and whatever plan she had in store for the townspeople. As the two pulled in, Kalanda could sense someone was coming towards them. Looks like they had already been spotted, not too bad. Mid was already speaking to the man, as Kalanda began to look around, reaching out to find Amur's location, and once she found it, she reached out to find anyone else that might have thought to come check the new comers out.

Two other lightly armored men seemed to be the only escorts this man had with him, which suited Kalanda just fine. They could use an excuse to attack after all. Mid laid out the description of the girl, as Kalanda would only press on, her gaze fixated on where she had sensed Amur from. "Yes, she hides like a rat, carrying her filth with her like a plague. She worms her way into the houses of the innocent and leads them to rot from within." She muttered, looking to the sherrif with a cold gaze. "Please, tell me if you have seen her. Plagued ones like her are not to be taken lightly." Kalanda kept with the act, knowing that no matter how these men were to respond it was futile. She knew it, and so did Mid. The game was rigged from the start.

The Sheriff just looked back with a unchanging expression, briefly making a chewing motion with his mouth. His thoughts were turned to the two deputies he had. One deputy was a good kid, bright adventurous astute. He never left a stone unturned. The Sheriff was glad that he never got to be subjected to the horrors of city life. Some of the crimes the Sheriff saw still haunting him to this day. The other deputy was actually a local hunter. He knew these woods like the back of his hand and had many scars from his fair share of scuffles with the wild life. Often he was the one to report to anything odd he found to him.

The sheriff never seen people dressed like this before with Vicondor for the most part being a quiet isolated planet. This town was one where people just wanted to live in peace and quiet. Though he wasn't ignorant. He heard stories and he had seen his fair share of Sith. He regretted that it seemed like this place may be dragged into the galactic struggle. Still it wasn't like the girl had done anything wrong she seemed to just be someone who like everyone else wanted to live in peace.

"Before I answer any of your question I have to know. Who exactly are you folk?" A simple question. Really after all they were the outsiders. Skyler had been vague about who these people were and while the comments of the woman indicated that these were the supposed people hunting her, you could never be sure. Still he wasn't being combative with his tone, just curious and intrepid he didn't want to fight and was just hoping that they would ask a few questions and leave.

Meanwhile from the Sheriff's house a lone blue eye peered out the window. Amur was trying to get a view of the situation without revealing herself, being obvious would just ruin the facade. She opened herself up to the force not trying to hide her signature she wanted Kalanda and Mid to confirm her position. Now though with though her mind focus on something more. Reaching out to the Force she tried to worm her way into the mind of one of the Deputies. Plucking at his mind like the strings of a violin she wanted to inspire a few emotions in him. Fear of the two intruders, paranoia and danger. As the conversation progressed the worn out blaster pistol in his hand could be seen shake as it was clear he was contemplating raising and firing on the two intruders. She wanted to test the waters of mental manipulation and get some field experience with it. The yound deputy now slowly began to twitch it at the general direction of the two 'Jedi'.

Hopefully with some provoked violence the massacre began and she could play the role of failed martyr.

Mid's attention was not just on the sheriff. Through the force he was eyeing the entire town. He caught Amur peering through a window but didn't say anything. It was too early to do something now.

He didn't respond to the sheriff immediately. He got off his speeder and calmly approached the sheriff, tucking his jacket in behind his holsters to show his blasters and the lightsaber on his hip. He towered over everyone in the town, making it easy to keep the attention on him. "We're Jedi Knights! And the girl you're harbouring is a Sith Acolyte. A disciple of the Dark Side." he explained to the the town, looking around as he spoke. He looked at the sheriff again who was standing a few meters away. "So I suggest you hand her over. Or else you and this entire town will be branded as accomplices of the Sith Empire." he threatened the man with a stern and solid voice.

His eye caught the shaking hand of the deputy. A smirk formed behind his helmet as he looked back to the sheriff. He knew what was going on. All he needed was a slip-up to make all hell break loose.

The sherriff and his cronies were none the wiser, as the pair were being pressed by what amounted to law enforcement here. Kalanda knew where her fellow acolyte was, least roughly sense the girls whereabouts, but the force also let her keep track of the deputies that were about. Her eyes drifted over the men, feeling the force was at work upon one of them at least. She initially thought one might be force sensative, but dismissed it as she found it was only the workings of the force rather than the presence. The man in question's blaster hand was trembling something terrible, that certainly didn't look good for the town. Mid gave his proclamation, as the sheriff and his deputies looked to one another in confusion, then back to the towering man who had approached them.

Kalanda dismounted at this moment, though she kept close to the bike, Mid was far more intimidating than herself. No, she would just utilize that opening that Amur had given them. Kalanda chose to stare at the man with the shaky gun hand, wanting to make him take that shot. She set her glare to maximum, as she gave the man the nastiest case of resting bitch face to be seen in this part of the galaxy, and she meant every bit of it; if this didn't get her shot nothing would, because this face was one that was begging to be shot.

The Sheriff had a noticeable look of unease as he processed the information now. Especially with the complication. Still a part felt off as well due to the fact that the Rebels usually try to brand themselves of hope and prosperity still there was now a threat against everyone as he found himself locked in internal.

"Alright let's just talk about this..." The Sheriff then noticed from the corner of his eyes one of his deputies the kid only just 20 finally lift his blaster pistol up and fire at the female 'jedi'. He tried to grab the gun and stop him but it was too late.

The game had just begun for everyone involved. The kid suddenly had his eyes widen in horror of what he had done like he just woke up from a nightmare. The sound of the blaster echoed through out the entire town and everyone huddled together in their homes terrified to come out. The Sheriff felt his heart crush especially if this meant the death of everyone he had spent years watching over.

Meanwhile Amur relaxed her connection to the force after she finally succeeded in forcing the will of the boy. His mind revealed to be feeble and full of fear ripe for exploitation. She would wait a few moments waiting for the group to dispatch town's law before running out into the open heading for the two. She channeled the memories of just before she was set aflame to act as inspiration for some convincing tears and begging. Pain it was funny. Sometimes it haunted you and you just wanted to avoid it other times you embraced it for inspiration.

The next thing Kados knew, a shot was fired at Kalanda. She wasn't an idiot. She would be able to block. The boy stood in horror, with a deathly silence filling the air after the echoes of the shot. Mid looked back to the sheriff and without skipping a beat he ignited his cyan lightsaber. It burned his hand. It fought him as hard as he could to try and get him to let go. But Mid's grip only tightened. "I offered you friendship. And you spat in my face." he said coldly.

He moved with speed nobody would expect from someone as big as him. He drew a Lullaby and blew a hole through a deputy's chest before switching to the stun setting and dropping the sheriff where he stood. He wanted someone to tell people what happened here.

With that he turned his attention to the rest of the town. "You made your choice! Now you suffer the consequences!" he shouted to the town. He then let loose, firing at people and charging at them with the lightsaber.

Sure enough, Kalanda was shot at, as the woman was ready, dodging out of the way with relative ease, as the blaster scored a shot on her speeder. Kalanda responded by igniting her saber, as the sherriff tried in vain to stop the violence. But there was no stopping what was about to come.

Kalanda wanted to make a proclamation, to solidify it was the jedi that had come to kill these people, but the words were stuck in her throat. She couldn't bring herself to justify what she was about to do. Not again. Kalanda moved swiftly, drawing a blaster pistol as she moved towards the closet deputy, as she sliced him in two, then aimed her blaster and shot his companion opposite of him with deadly accuracy. She would make it quick. These people would be subjects of the Empire soon enough, no need to draw out their suffering; she would already be hurting them enough. Mid would know that this was killing her inside, though she would never admit it. Amur might have sensed some of the distress within the acolyte as well, as it was hard for Kalanda to hide it in this moment. Several townspeople emerged from their homes, trying to see what was occuring, and Kalanda knew she couldn't hold her tongue any longer. She was the one who planned this mission, she couldn't back down now. With her back turned to the people, and her senses ready to react, she shouted out her condemnation of the townspeople. "You have been found guilty of attacking members of the jedi order. The punishment, is death!" She shouted, feeling a familiar numbness in her chest as she turned to face her victims. Her eyes fell upon a young man with his wife, the faces clearly confused as Kalanda drew her blaster on them. She turned off the part of her brain that was causing her doubts, only focusing on the goal. She squeezed the trigger twice, as they joined the rest of their fellows in death.

The massacre was afoot. The Sith now charged out in the middle of the open. A feeble woman in rags now approaching the two Jedi. Several people had already died. Now for the final part. Begging for the town. It was all an act, nothing more nothing less. But it would give these people that still survived a lie to cling to for a brief few moments. Hope. Amur could feel a part of her in doubt and guilt knowing that she was carrying out some of the worst aspects of the Empire doing this. For an organization that she didn't trust anymore. A empire that she lacked any faith in being sustainable anymore. Yet here she was. The Jedi word's from Mandalore coming back to her. If she felt like she had to do this to get power was she a slave instead of getting empowerment? Did she willing sacrifice her freedom and morals for power...

The resentment was building in her and she knew more and more that this wasn't what she wanted. If she was going to get power she wanted it by her terms not forced upon her by some power structure and leadership that were corrupt and too focused on themselves and not on anything else.

"NO! Please stop. Take me. Do whatever just spare these people!" She let the Force carry her voice out into the heavens. Everyone heard it and now they could be given hope only for it to be taken away. The sith had tears running down her face. Partly faked and partly real. This would be a day she would want to forget.

Mid didn't hold back. It hurt him to do this and his own personal reasoning was no longer working. So he did whatever any sith does when they had too much emotion overwhelming them: he used it.

He harnessed the regret and anger he felt for doing this and used it to focus. He slaughtered a few people by now and it didn't seem like it would end. The lightsaber burned his hand but he held on, using the pain to continue with the slaughter. It was fighting him constantly, but he was not letting it gain any ground. The colour of the blade actually shifted to a deeper blue with every kill. It was almost purple by the time Amur ran out of the building screaming for them to stop.

He finally stopped, looking at her through the visor of his helmet. He looked around at the dead innocents then back to her. He had to admit, he was actually buying the tears. He marched over towards her. Without skipping a beat he raised a fist and collided with her face, knocking her out cold. He probably gave her a concussion in the process.

He looked back to the remaining villagers, taking in the fear they were feeling. "A shame, really. Had you given her over, you would all have lived. Sadly...you made your choice." he said coldly. He extinguished the lightsaber and drew both his pistols before opening fire, killing them further.

By the time they were done the town was on fire and the dead littered the streets. There were a few he could feel still alive, but he let them go. They needed messengers. He walked over to Amur and pulled her over a shoulder before making his way to his speeder.

The carnage played out before her eyes, but Kalanda knew there was no stopping it, this had to be done. She was running of instinct, her mind only seeing targets, ignoring the human form that covered them. She sliced an elderly man in two, a lone child she tagged in the leg and thankfully the child passed out from the pain so the screams were cut short. She didn't come back into it until Amur made herself known, and for the life of her the Sith couldn't figure out if the girl was faking it or not. Of course, this didn't help things when Mid cold clocked the girl, knocking her to the ground, as he went back into the carnage. That was enough for Kalanda, she was done. Mid mowed down the last of the inhabitants, Kalanda could only guess that they had killed over half of the inhabitants.

Kalnda had extinguished her saber and holstered the blaster, hardly able to keep her hands from shaking enough to put them away, as she moved towards Amur, intending to move the woman away from the scene and onto her speeder, but Mid beat her to it. She could still hear some of the screams behind her, some low moans of the dying as well. She tried not to think about what they had done, because she would have plenty of time to think about it tonight. Kalanda gave one last look to the village, as she found the couple she had struck down had seemingly had a child who was now weeping over their parents corpses. Kalanda only glanced for a moment, before the child looked towards her, feeling nothing but pure hate washing over her. It hit her like a punch to the gut, as she could only turn away and mount her speeder. She needed to get away from this place. "We got what we came for." Kalanda muttered. "Let's get out of here."

Amur for one moment she was staring down Mid. The next moment she awoke on a speeder being carried away from the village. She looked off to the distance to a place that she couldn't tell where it exactly it was but she could feel it. There was a dark pit now forming of sadness and hatred. It seemed to draw the Sith in thinking about along with her thoughts about what she had just done. She got to know those people a little bit. She took the nature of kindness and exploited it like the very person she hated most.

This was going to be one of those days where she would have to shove it down. Bury it in layers upon layers of mental tape. Because the less she thought about the atrocity the better. She was silent, lost in thought about whether or not she herself wanted this. If this Empire was really worth becoming strong in. To rise up in it's ranks. Could she continue to do that if it meant slaughtering like this. She was tired from the thought and couldn't wait to get back to the ship. To never look back at this planet ever again. She tainted it and like someone who threw paint on an ancient painting it could never recover completely from it.
