Sometimes, we don't always get what we hope for. Sometimes, the Force has a way of testing a person. To test their merit and their resolve to see if they are truly worthy of using its power. Sometimes, certain things are revealed to a person that one might have wished to have never known. For the truth can be heartbreaking. It can be overwhelming and sometimes downright cruel. It can make a person think twice about everything they knew. For Kae'Leigh Tameris, she was going through that very same dilemma.

Taking refuge on her home planet the Jedi Knight was hiding out with her Padawan after making a terrible discovery on the planet Alsakan. As it turned out, her mother was alive. The very same mother who'd abandoned her on Nar Shaddaa when she was merely an infant. The very same mother who was now a loyal Sith to the Emperor. Kae'Leigh was devastated.

As much as she wanted to take a break from everything, she knew she could not. The alliance had once again contacted her with a mission. Though, this one would be a much longer endeavor it seemed. A young man by the name of Kieran Shaw had joined their ranks and was in need of a Jedi teacher. As most of the Jedi had gone into exile, there were only so many left to raise the Hopefulls. And as much as Kae'Leigh wanted to turn them down, saying she had too much on her plate to handle another student, she knew it would be hard pressed for them to find another. So she agreed.

Kae'Leigh had passed over a meeting ground for the alliance kid and he was to meet her on Ryloth. Now, her current hideout was still very much hidden. She didn't want to risk this message getting intercepted and risk her other Padawan getting attacked. So she found a place far off in the wilderness: a place where a battle had once taken place. The Light and the Dark were competing in this place and it could practically be smelled in the air with its foul presence. She'd chosen this place for two reasons: the first being it was secluded. The second as a test to see which side would cling to this new potential Padawan more. The Light...or the Dark?

Dressed in armored Jedi Knight robes Kae'Leigh was both ready for battle and also rather stylish. Her old outfit was too black in nature and sometimes she didn't want to be mistaken as a Sith. Today she needed to be a Jedi, proud and respected. The armor would cover her chest, gauntlets on her arms and shins, while also giving her plenty of room to maneuver around in. On her hip was her Brylark lightsaber hilt which she'd cut from The Life Tree of Kashyyyk. Inside the hilt was a blue Kyber crystal that would emit a sapphire beam of energy and cut down any threat that got in her way.

When Kieran would come upon her, he'd find the blue skinned Twi'lek kneeling with her head down, her saber gently placed in her lap. Her lekku were draped behind her back and decorated with a metal headband to keep her head tails from getting in her way. If Kieran had any connection to the Force -which he should- he'd feel the Light spreading out from her body like an orb of light. Potentially, he'd also be able to feel the Dark too which polluted the air around them like a foul odor.

"Do you feel that, Kieran Shaw? Do you feel the Force that surrounds this place? Tell me, what does it feel like to you? What do you see?"

Ryloth, of course it had to be Ryloth.

Kieran grimaced as he surveyed the barren remains of an ancient battlefield. The desert planet was serving as a grim reminder of his not so distant past, it was practically like Petram in every single way, save for the odd forest here and there. He couldn't help but wonder, "why on Earth would anyone ever want to meet in a place like this?"

He paused mid-step, "what a stupid question," he muttered to himself. The woman that he was supposed to meet is a Twi'lek. Her lekku was the first thing he had noticed when Commander Fringe had shown him her hologram. Well, that and her blue skin. Of course she would pick Ryloth. It was likely that she still had ties to the arid planet, as it was the homeworld of her people, in fact, it was entirely possible that this was her homeplanet. But still, he couldn't help but wonder why she would choose this place, of all places, to set up a meeting.

That was until he felt a chill run down his spine.

He shuddered before instinctively reaching for his lightsaber. His eyes darted from pillar to pillar as he cautiously continued down the path the Force was guiding him along, he could feel something, it was sinister. Sinister, yes, but also, familiar? Like someone he had sensed before? Or rather, something...

Images flashed through Kieran's mind, the red blade, the black robes, that malevolent presence. This was what it had felt like the day he crossed paths with a Sith. The day he lost his left hand. Kieran began to panic. Remembering the fear he had felt that day, the shame, the pain. He was so deep in thought that he was barely able to hear a voice calling out...

Calling to him...

His outfit fluttered in the wind as he quickly moved into a sloppy defensive position, anarctic-blue light emitted from the lightsaber as he ignited his weapon in an instant to face the stranger who had called out to him.

Hearing the lightsaber was not what she expected in response. She would open her eyes and then speak again, "'A Jedi's weapon should always be his last and final choice. Never should he raise it in hopes of finding a fight. A Jedi's weapon is a shield, to protect those who are in danger.' Tell me, young Padawan. Why do you raise your blade to me?"

Kae'Leigh let her own saber fall into her hand and close her fingers around it. Its power flowing through her based on the connection she shared with her crystal. Standing up she would then hold the hilt of to the side. She wouldn't return it to her belt lest this young man decided to try and attack her. Her eyes scanned the person whom she felt walking towards her from afar. It seemed conflicted. But she wondered why. Hadn't he come here looking for her, to be assigned to her and learn from her? It truly did confuse the Twi'lek why he'd engage his saber at all.

"I hope you do not see me as a threat. Perhaps it is the Dark powers around us that have you confused. Please explain what you are feeling right now. I fear there may be some latent hesitancy and angst buried inside you."
