Vula - Greff-Timms Industrial Headquarters

Gillian had finally recovered enough to get back to work, he was going more and more stir crazy by the day while his back had healed. He almost shook with excitement at getting back out there.

This was different work than what he was used to. In The Exchange, the violence was more up front and in your face. Here, it had to be subtle and it could never lead back to the company.

He stood outside a bar about a block down from the headquarters of Greff-Timms Industrial. He wore his black armor and his usual weapons. Tasha would have chastised him about even bringing a blaster, but if the mission went to shit and they needed to get out, he wanted to have it.

The building was behind a gate, which was probably the easiest defenses they were going to need to get through tonight. It had been difficult to get a read on what exactly they would find inside.

He waited for his partner for the evening before they would head into the building.

Louis Daele was set for action for the night. He would arrive at the bar to met with Gillian as instructed and he wouldn't be late either. The bar Gillian stood outside of is normally busy at this time, with people coming and going. Louis would spot his contact waiting. He would casually side to Gillian's side, nothing out of the ordinary happening really.

"I'm here." he softly said. "Ready whenever you are" affirmed he was ready to get started. Louis knows what they are doing here today, to steal some specific schematics from the Greff-Timms Industrial headquarters. A corporate headquarters, especially dealing with weapons will probably have decent security. Louis can't say that he has experience breaking into a corporate headquarters or anything, but there is a first time for everything isn't there? He's a proficient slicer though and with his partner should be able to get what they came here for.

Louis was wearing dark clothing, and had a mask available on his person, but not wearing it yet. He has a vibroblade and has a DH-7 pistol that's already set to stun, holstered. He doesn't have any armor on him, preferring to travel light. He has his blaster pre-set to stun and the vibroblade on him just in case although they would prefer to get through this mission with as little heat as possible. He has a port scanner and signal tracer on him as slicer tools that may come in handy. Louis is ready, for sure.

He looked over at the man who approached him. He had first heard of Louis when he had started working the Exchange. He hadn't seen much of him before Gil had fled Nar Shaddaa, but had heard good things. A good slicer would be invaluable for what Tasha had planned.

"Let's get this show on the road then." he said as he kicked off of the wall and made his way down the street. It wasn't far before the large office building came into view. "This should be interesting..." he said to fill the silence as they came up to an area along the wall that had street light broken it out. Gil had come by earlier and "fixed" it with a rock. He was glad no one had come to repair it yet.

"Let's see what you got." he said looking at the man and at the wall. It was about 12 feet tall and smooth to the top. Gil had gear to help himself get over the wall, but had scaled worse surfaces before. "There should be some cover on the other side. He hoped he had scouted it right, or it would get interesting in a hurry.

"Alright..." Louis muttered to himself. With the conveniently broken light the approach should be less visible. As for what is on the otherside, who knows. One thing they have going in their favor despite this being a high-end cooperate headquarters, this still isn't exactly a prison facility or a military installation. There aren't any watchtowers with spotlights steadily scanning the area.

Taking out some black leather gloves and putting on his mask after it was decided it's time to get things started. There aren't any onlookers.

After measuring himself up against the wall, he then sprints towards it and then jumps, he would find his right foot on the wall and use that and his momentum to help carry himself up. Louis has scaled walls and fences before. As long as he can get his hand at the top he can pull himself over, which he was able to. After doing that, he would briefly scan what's the otherwise to make sure the the coast is clear. With a brief glance no threats yet. With himself still at the top, he would extend his hand to help pull Gillian over the wall. With teamwork they can move through this swiftly.

He dropped onto the other side of the wall and fell into a crouch as he looked around for anyone who may have seen them. They were mostly out in the open in the concrete courtyard.

He moved forward, assuming Louis would be following. He made his way around a fountain and towards a set of stairs that would put them near the front entrance to the building. That's when he heard the two guards talking as they approached. Gil could then see the flashlights bobbing as they made their way to the top of the stairs. Gil jumped behind a concrete bench as the light shined over the area he had just been in.

Gil's hand rested on his blaster, waiting to see if the guards were alarmed but they didn't seem to notice as they continued down the stairs having their casual conversation. They would need to deal with these two before moving inside, and they would need to do it silently. "I'll get the one of the right." he whispered into his comms as he readied to pounce. The guards moved past him and Louis, and Gil jumped, grabbing the one of the right, trusting his partner would take care of the other one quietly. Gil's arm wrapped around the man's neck as he struggled, his other arm blocking the guard from his blaster. The man struggled for several seconds but then stopped moving.

He would take one of the guards comm radios. It may come in handy later if they needed to dodge guards. He also swiped the guard's ID/Key badge. He doubted it would get them far but it would likely get them in inside the building.

They hid the bodies and moved on. With their access badges now, they had options they might night of had moments earlier. Gil spotted a balcony over the 2nd floor of the lobby. That would be their best way to get in. He pushed a button on his wrist and shot the grappling hook to the ledge above him. It pulled him up then he detached the rope and tossed it down Louis before he would pull him up. Their badge would get them inside from there.

With them both over the wall now and nothing stopping them at the moment, they can move on. Going swimmingly for now as they got past the fountain and closing in on the stairs. As with Gillian in front of him, he heard the two voices incoming, getting loader and loader, flashlight bobbing visible and as they moved on to the stairs. As Gillian went behind a concrete bench, there was a pillar that Louis could hide behind, he moved swiftly to get there before he could be spotted.

Looks like the guards are none the wiser, Gillian is in a good spot. Now that they are down the stairs the young slicer heard Gillian on his commlink. He nodded, even if Gillian couldn't see it. Gillian gets the right, Louis has the left, which he is better positioned for to take on. In near synch with Gillian, he would act as well: Applying a rear choke, the sudden move would catch the guard by surprise. By getting the drop on him, the guard would be on the ground while being choked, his weapon dropped, and would pass out without making a sound.

Suffice it to say, the guards are going to be out for a long while. Gillian had the right idea taking one of the radio and ID/Keys, Louis would do the same. Those could prove useful. He would make sure the radio is still good and attach it to his person, and would be listening out for anything that may be important. Hopefully their security routines are complacent that they don't order mandatory radio checks regularly every so often.

So, now they are going up the to that balcony the former Exchange sub-boss has his eyes on. Gillian has a grappling hook launcher on his wrist to get up there. Now with the rope tossed to him, he would get up there with Gillian pulling. "Alright" he said as he got up. Looks like there is a door with a badge scanner. Louis would take his badge out in his left hand be peering through the windows to see ahead before they go in. "Looks like we're going into the open offices, lights are dimmed out. Can't see anyone though" he said only loud enough to be heard by Gil. He can't see anyone at least from this angle anyway. Looking at Gil, whenever they are ready to move on, Louis would slide his badge over the scanner. Now that they are committing to go inside the building proper, Louis as a precaution has his right hand gripping his blaster pistol that's set to stun. He doesn't want to use it but if he has to, then he has. to.

They entered the dim;y lit office, making their way through without seeing anyone. "We need to get up to the tenth floor." he said quietly as they moved down a hallway. With the guard IDs they could easily get on a lift, but he wasn't sure if they would have cameras in them. So instead, Gil looked a for a stairwell. They would need to go up eight flights of stairs on foot but it was the safer route.

Gil stopped Louis as they started to round a corner. There was a custodian cleaning the floors with his back turned to them, music coming from earphones. They just needed to make it across the hallway, and would only be exposed for a second. The man wasn't paying attention in their direction, the sound of the music and the cleaner he was using would mask any sound.

Moving quickly, Gil dashed across the hallway and opened the door to the stairwell, holding it open for Louis to follow, assuming they didn't have to deal with the custodian. He would gently close the door. "I hate stairs." he grumbled as they started to make their climb.

It took them a couple of minutes but they were standing in front of the door the server rooms. "Alright, work your magic." he said. Getting into the server room and then getting at the information they needed was why Louis had been chosen for the job. Gil kept a lookout, this floor would likely be more patrolled than the other ones.

A mere late-night custodian won't stop the BIT members. He followed suite behind Gil moving past him, moving swiftly himself, being light on his feet it was no problem. The custodian would remain obvious caught up in his work and music. He went through the doorway through the stairwell as the door was held open for him. Louis would snicker as Gil remarked he hated stairs. Understandable.

After navigating through minutes worth of stairs, they would finally get to the server room. Louis would scan around to make sure the coast is clear in the server farm. "On it" he would affirm and nod his head. He would find the main terminal to the server room. He would take out his blaster pistol and have it handy on the table just in case he needs to draw it in a pinch. Now accessing the terminal, he would be met with a prompt screen asking for user ID and password. There was nothing from the guards that could help them get in there and these guys weren't dumb enough (or at least he didn't assume so) to have their password be 'Swordfish1' or something similarly easy to guess or have a post-it note with the password jotted down.

Instead they have to rely on their own wit and resources here, and Louis has plenty of that. Putting out his port scanner, he would connect it physically to the terminal. With that, the port scanner is doing the work automatically, but it's not going to be instant. Louis would look at Gillian "Alright, port scanner is cracking through the security, shouldn't be too long" he said before turning his eyes back on the screen. He would be glancing back and forth from the screen to check progress and the background just in case.

He nodded as the slicer went to work. "I'll have a look around real quick, make sure no one sneaks up on us." he whispered as he moved down the hallway.

They were masked, but hopefully, they could find a way to get rid of the security footage once they were inside, just in case. He peaked around the corner, looking back at Louis by the door before peaking again. There wasn't anything but the lift doors and cubicles lining the hallway.

He stepped out in the hallway just as the doors opened up at the far end of the hallway, jumping back behind cover just as the guards exited the lift. Gil's heart started, waiting to see if they had been alarmed. Staying low to the ground, he peaked around the corner, the dim light giving him cover. The guards were just casually walking towards them.

"We got company." he whispered into his comm device. "You going to have that door open or do I need to handle these guys first?" he asked.

And as Louis was working, Gil went off, extra assurance that way, Louis was focused on the task at hand right in front of him. It wouldn't take too long before the port scanner would breach through the security lock, then granting Louis full access to the terminal. It's good that this company has some measure of security for their computers but obviously it could use some improvement. As tempting as it is to see if he could grab some private information on their customers the mission comes first. Now he had to navigate through the terminal to find what wanted. Not long after, he would hear Gil on the comms whispering. Company coming, well, looks like Louis is going to have to double time it to make sure that they get what they want and have time to make a clean get away. He would answer on the coms. "Handle them if you can, just need a bit more time." because the server at the company's headquarters has a lot of information to sift through, and downloading everything won't be possible.

If Gil can keep the company at bay, Louis would eventually be able to find what they were looking for, the schematics for the PIPE-II they are looking for. "Bingo" he said over the comms. Transferring that over was an easy thing at this point, then afterwards he would hard-delete it from their server. "Alright, got the file. Now trying to erase any security footage..." he would backtrack on the terminal and then navigate through the screens once again to find it. This would help cover their tracks. Unless more problems come up with the guards and Gil would rather retreat rather than risk it.

Gil sighed. He did not necessarily want to "take care" of these two. The chances of getting shot got higher and higher with each fight. He wanted to get out of here but it had to be done. It wouldn't end well at all if the building was alerted with the stuck so high up.

He waited until the guards were looking away before he slipped into a cubicle. He did so again, moving forward. He hid under the desk, waiting for the guards to pass. A few seconds went by, Gil froze as the small space filled with lights as the guards walked passed but the desk kept him hidden and the guards passed on down the hallway.

He stood up, slowly pulling the knife from his belt and snuck up behind them. He plunged the knife into the back of one's neck pulling it free just as the other guard turned, somewhat stunned by the attack. Gil slashed the blade across the man's neck covering him in blood. The man died quickly, but to his credit, he did reach for his radio, which Gil had to bat out of his hands.

He drug the bodies to an office and hid them behind the desk he had hidden behind. He was about to ask how it was going, but Louis beat him to it saying he was done. "I'm on my way." he said as he started walking towards the stairwell.

"Let's get out of here." he said to Louis after they had met back up and started down the stairs. At least going down wasn't as bad as going up them had been.

With no more incoming threats, Louis would have time to find the footage and make sure it's erased. He would quickly get out of the chair, holster his pistol, disconnect the port scanner from the terminal and stow it away on his person and then go down the stairs and meet Gil in the process. He would nod with Gil's suggestion to get out of here By the time they would descend, the custodian would be gone having his job already finished, still of course Louis was keeping his movements as quiet as possible as to not alert anyone. Would never know what might be around a corner at any given moment.

If they are going back out the same way they came in, then they should have little trouble getting off the property without any resistance or encountering anyone else if they work around them if they start noticing that several guards are out of commission. Still, no alert was raised so they have a good shot of getting out with the prize if they don't dilly-dally.

They were on the clock here. Eventually, the four guards would be missed, and if they were anywhere near to being competent that time was quickly approaching. He returned and Louis and finished his work. They had the plans and any footage of their time here had been erased. That would make things nice and clean.

There was no reason to chance to take a different route out as they had already cleared a path. As long as the guards weren't discovered in the next few minutes they would be long gone. "At least going downstairs isn't as bad.."he commented as they started their descent.

A few minutes later they had repelled from their second-floor entrance and were hoping back over the wall. "Well that was kriffing clean..." he said as they both landed on the street where they had begun. They needed to get clear of the area and out of clothes that made them look sketchy but it was all smooth sailing from here.

"First rounds on me." he said as they disappeared into the night. The first part of the plan was complete. Soon Blackwell would have their own version of the popular weapon.
