Hutt space was never a good place to be alone, but Sythe didn't care. He was sent there to kill a Hutt, not to be caught by one.
The Hutt in question had done something stupid, or pissed someone off to the point where they wanted him dead. A display if you will, of power.
Sythe didn't even care who it was that hired him, all he knew was that he was getting paid to do what he enjoyed. And that's all that mattered... not the coin, it is never about money, but the kill.

He used the "borrowed" shuttle he had to land outside of the Hutt's estate. He would have to find a way to infiltrate the estate, kill the Hutt, and leave without anyone knowing he was even there. It would possibly be an easy job depending on how good the Hutt's security systems were.
As he made his way carefully through a well forested area just behind the estate, the Sith kept his eyes and senses alert for any hidden security cameras or sensors.

Finding one wasn't too hard, and dodging it wasn't all that hard either. But it did make him even more cautious as he moved forward.

As Sythe neared the treeline, the outer wall of the estate came into view. It was dark, but he could still see a few guards patrolling the area. So he waited and watched... putting into memory the guard's patterns as they walked around.

Skirting past them shouldn't be too hard barring any unforeseen problems.

Alastair had no love for the Hutts, he found them grotesque, their language gutteral and disgusting. He always said if ears could gag then listening to the Hutts speak would have his wrenching with every syllable.

So, with his dislike of the slugs he wondered why exactly he was landing his Crux on the outskirts of a Hutt estate. The force had called him here, so here he was.

As the canopy opened he could feel the presence of another darksider, at this point whoever it was could either be an ally or enemy. Only time would tell now.

He leapt from his ship and sprinted through the forest, using the force to speed him along. When he reached the estate however he stopped and instead used it to mask his presence while he snuck by guards and cameras. He was getting close to the other dark sider now, he could feel it.

Sythe stopped and listened for a moment. He knew he felt another presence close by... a dark presence.
He scanned the darkness for any movement and yet couldn’t see anything as of yet.

The newcomer was good at masking his or herself, which could provide useful for this particular job.

So the Sith decided to wait until the other dark sider would reveal themselves.

Alastair reached out with the force and tried to feel where the other dark sider was, he knew the person was nearby, all he had to do was focus and....

There.

Alastair made his way to where he thought he felt the presence coming from, and there was his quarry. If he was not tracking the man through the force he likely never would have found him.

"Good evening." he whispered, using the force to alter the soundwaves so that only the man could hear while he stayed just far enough away to remain safe.

Alastair knew this could go one of two ways, either they talked and were on the same side and he would help the man in his mission. Or they were not on the same side and would have to fight.

Either way, he knew that this was the reason he had been drawn to this place.

“What are you doing here Alastair?” Sythe didn’t like pleasantries, so he cut to the chase so-to-speak.

The two had met before and Sythe knew of his abilities. But he was still curious as to why Alastair had come.

Ahh Sythe, curt and to the point. An honestly refreshing attitude when compared to the plethora of Sith who spent their time fluffing their own ego.

"The force brought me here. I got in my fighter and suddenly found myself making hyperdrive calculations and then here I was." He explained, "Yourself?"

“I’m here to kill a Hutt.” Sythe replied as a matter of factly.
“I don’t suppose you would leave if I suggested it, so we might as well work together.”
He pointed at the wall of the estate.
“The patrols come once every five minutes. Two at a time. Then a swoop patrol comes around between that on the ground outside of the wall.”

Just as he said, two swoop bikes cane and went by their location.

“I can scale the wall easy enough. Beyond that we need to find the Hutt’s personal chambers. Kill him there. And make it look like an accident. Suggestions?”

An assassin killing a Hutt on Nal Hutta? Go figure.

"No, no I would not." Alastair chuckled, "I was drawn here for a reason, so I intend to find out exactly why."

The mission itself sounded relatively simple, Alastair knew it was one that Sythe could easily handle on his own but he figured if he was drawn here it was important that he help.

"I could try to stop his heart with the force. Though it may be difficult. I'm not exactly an expert in Hutt physiology."

He stroked his chin in thought.

"Does this Hutt have any vices we could use against him?"

Sythe looked at Alastair. “Food. Just like all Hutts. But this one likes Trandoshan stormfish the best. Which means we could poison his meal, but then it wouldn’t be an accident.”

He watched as another patrol walked by on the top of the wall. His mind already counting down til the next patrol cane around.
“And he has a vault. I want to look into it before I leave. There’s a book I’m lookong for, and this slug may have it.”

It was a long shot that the tomb in question would be residing in the estate, but Sythe overheard a rumor about it so that was why he took the job. So far his searching had come up with nothing... and he wasn’t a very patient person to begin with.

A book! Perhaps that was part of Alastair beimg drawn here, the force responding to his incessant thirst for knowledge.

"Hmm. Perhaps poison, we can at the very least make that look like someone else did it.. If he smoked we could burn his room down around him. That would give us a distraction to get into the vault as well."

Alastair was aching to know what was in the book, but this was not the time to ask.

Sythe looked again at the Sith next to him. “You like the idea of a vault.” It was more of a statement than a question.
“We will have to move quickly. Once the patrol goes past we make for the wall.”

As if on cue, the patrol sped past their location. Sythe crouched love and left their hiding place and moved across the field toward the wall.
He knew Alastair was right behind him, so he didn’t need to look back...
Once he reached the wall, he used two hand “hooks” that looked like claws to climb the wall.
He got to the top quite easily and dropped to the ground on the other side.
There he waited for his counterpart before he moved forward...

"Indeed."

Alastair nodded as Sythe explained the plan, then just moments after his assassin counterpart broke cover so did he. He kept pace with his companion and then used the force to launch himself to the top of the wall, then dropped and landed, using the force to cushion the landing and make it so it was as gentle as stepping off a curb.

He then followed Sythe silently as they moved along to their target's location.

The two Sith skirted the wall around toward the back of the estate. Sythe’s intel told him that the sleeping chambers of the Hutt was located near the back west wing.

As they got closer, the huge tower of the Hutt’s chamber loomed in front of them.
They would have to scale about four stories to get to the window which led to the chamber.

Sythe looked at Alastair. “Ready?”

Without waiting for an answer, he began scaling the tower heading for the window.

Alastair was in all honesty a little unnerved by the silent efficiency of his assassin ally, he definitely hoped to never end up on the man's hit list.

With a simple "Ready?" -more of a statement than a question it seemed- Sythe was on his way up the wall.

The Vahla sorcerer shook his head in bewilderment and began his own ascent, using the force to lighten himself and spring along. Using even the smallest hand and foot holds to propel himself up and reaching the window only seconds after Sythe.

“Impressive.” Sythe said. “But reserve your force strength for the way down. You’ll need it more then wizard.”
Sythe didn’t really like force wizards in the least. He felt they relied to heavily on the force to accomplish things, rather than just doing it themselves... but this Alastair was proving himself useful, which Sythe felt he could tolerate better than the rest.

The window itself was slightly open to let the night air in, which Sythe was quite pleased to find. He opened it slowly so it wouldn’t make any noise and stepped softly onto the carpeted floor.
They both could hear the loud snoring of the Hutt while he slept in his bed about twenty feet away from the window.

He went to one knee and pulled out a small vial containing a drab tan, multi-legged insect.

One bite from this thing will kill the Hutt. Not quickly though, slowly, so he will keep snoring until we are long gone. Sythe telepathically sent the message to Alastair as he let theinsect out of the vial.
It headed straight for the Hutt and Sythe watched it go...

Now look for a switch that will open the vault under his bed... it should be nearby.

On it. Alastair sent back, it was good to know the assassin was at least somewhat fluent in the subtleties of the force.

He closed his eyes and reached out with the force, extending his senses over every inch of the room. Feeling everything. He could feel the bug as it scurried over the form of the soon to be dead Hutt, he could feel the Hutt itself. He felt every inch of that room and finally something felt less solid.

He pointed to the spot and opened his eyes as he released his hold on the force. It almost felt like the air started moving again when he did. A taxing use.of thenforce but at the rate they were going he doubted he would need it for much more than the descent. He was pointing to an ornate lamp to the right of the Hutt's bed. "There." he muttered, his voice so quiet you would have to have some kind of augmented hearing to pick it up.

He strode to the night stand and twisted the lamp, a faint whirring could be heard as the vault began to open.

Sythe watched as Alastair twisted the lamp and the Hutt’s huge flat bed began to move.
The insect’s venom was working well because the Hutt wasn’t even budging from his now death sleep. The bed’s movement did nothing to wake the now dying slug.

A long ramp was revealed to be under the bed which led down into another chamber.
Sythe nodded at Alastair and then headed down the ramp.
The vault as filled with all kinds of trinkets, credits and books.
The assassin didn’t even bother with any of the loose stuff and went directly to the bookshelf.
He was looking through each one and then putting it back where he found them... his anger mounting as the book he searched for was not to be found.
“It’s not here.” He seethed. “My informant is going to lose his head for this.”
He turned away from the book shelf and took a credit chip and studied it. No doubt they would all be encrypted, and it would be more trouble than it’s worth to get the cards unlocked. So he left them on the table.

He looked at Alastair.
“Anything you want from here?”

Alastair watched Sythe tear through the bookshelf furiously, and he could feel the man's rage spike as he finished his search.

"I am sorry you did not find what you came for."

Alastair looked around the vault to see if there was anything that might be of value to him, he took a ring made of some sort of metal that resonated with the dark side and slipped it into an inner pocket of his coat.

It might merit looking into further.

He also took a couple of books, mostly just about the force. One about the history of force sensitive Hutts, a tome that was much bigger than he would have expected.

"Nothing else in here for me I think." he announced before turning to head back up the ramp.

Sythe cursed to himself. The informant that said the tome would be there had lied to him.
“I will hunt him down. His life is mine.”
He walked up the ramp and turned the lamp back to it original spot sending the bed back over the vault’s entrance.

Moving to the window he glanced at Alastair.
“I may need your help in the future. Once we are far enough away from this place we can talk.”

Alastair made a mental note not to cross Sythe, ever.

As the two made it to the window he nodded in responce to the man's statement as he watched a patrol go by before dropping out the window and hurtling towards the ground. Using the force at the Last moment to cusion his landing.

He then bolted to the wall and -using the last bit of energy he safely could to channel the force- he vaulted over it and landed again the same way he had on the way in to the compound, he then stayed out of sight as he awaited his partner in murder.
