Mon Gazza, Mid Rim

Bounty hunting. Not a line of work her parents would have approved of. Not one she was particularly proud of herself if she was being honest, but she was strapped for credits at the moment. Who was she kidding? She was always strapped for credits and had been ever since she'd left home.

Even here, on this distant and barren rock, she felt like her parents were standing directly behind her. Peering over her shoulder with disapproval etched across their features, shaking their heads as their dark eyes bore a hole right through her helmet. The teenager turned around and stared. Only red dirt for miles and miles, kicked up by the occasional gust of wind and the transport that had brought her, rising slowly out of view.

A sign of her naivety and youth that she had turned back to look at all. Trying to shake off the feeling, she put one foot in front of the other and marched toward the settlement in the distance.

This was the first time Hauron Solus was visiting Mon Gazza. The independent planet was heavily involved in the spice trade but the badger reserved his judgement for now. He was here tracking a bounty, Ralousa, which he had followed from Christophsis.

The sky was dotted with clouds and a wall of orange dust sat on the horizon. People hurried about their day trying to get as much done before the dust storm hit or before their employers reprimanded them. Most people were garbed in industrial working outfits, the type worn by miners and heavy labororers. Droids with weathered casings creaked by as the armored hunter strode through the streets, keeping an eye out for a dug.

Hauron knew that his target was responsible for pod racing accidents. It was why the Solus was heading towards the Zugga Challenge. It was a pod race course and likely where Ralousa would be planning his next catastrophe. If not then he was likely just picking a space that felt familiar.

The howl of swoop bikes and overclocked airspeeders echoed through the canyons. Advertisments projected on large screens lit the streets and reflected faintly off of the black and red armored plates of the mandalorian. A few people stared at Hauron but most people were too concerned about their own agenda to pay him much mind.

Ralousa. That was the name that flashed across the screen of the young Mandalorian's datapad. It was old—probably older than her—and was operating on borrowed time. A secondhand gift from her parents after verd'goten, and not one she was likely to replace anytime soon, even if she did manage to track this bounty down and collect the reward. She needed those credits for something else. Something a lot more important. Until then, she'd make the best of what she had. One good smack to the side of the device, and it flickered back to life. That usually did the trick.

A small time gangster, wanted for setting up illegal pod races and for manslaughter. All the facts and information tied up in a neat little bow. They had even provided a picture of him. If only they'd included step by step instructions, too. That would be handy for a first time bounty hunter. With one last glance, Satori stuffed the datapad away and really took in her surroundings for the first time.

Mon Gazza wasn't much to look at. Barren. Dusty. Windy. From what she had heard, the planet had a reputation for more than just podracing—for spice mining and cartels and shoot-outs just to hit a few of the highlights. It was no wonder the transport had made her hoof it the rest of the way in on foot. The Mandalorian came to a stop at the edge of the town and looked around, a little lost as to where to start. To follow the signs and walk right into the speedway, to try to pick up some tips from the locals, or to drop into the first seedy bar she saw and try to get the inside scoop on the dug's whereabouts.

Before she could make up her mind, a reflection caught her eye. Black and red armor and a t-visor helmet. Satori blinked. Then she blinked again as her gaze settled on someone across the street. Another Mandalorian. Instinctively, she took a step toward the man and then thought better of it. She hesitated, waiting to see if he noticed her or continued on his way. Then she would decide her next move from there. @Darasuum

Hauron was working alone today and knew to keep his head on a swivel. The mandalorian's T visor was not always facing the exact thing he was looking at. His eyes scanned one person after another with his hidden red irises but none of them matched the target's description.

The occasional clinking of armor plates and gear halted as the badger came to a stop. He saw looking at him the familiar image of another mandalorian only it was one he did not recognize. The rally master's helm tilted to the side, sizing the stranger up and down without a word and trying to gauge their nature.

Slowly his right hand raised above his hip and gave a slight wave. Perhaps they were after the same bounty as he was. If they were not then it might still be worth while to chat with the fellow mandalorian. Hauron walked towards them, looking around to see if he spotted anymore beskar clad comrades or potential bounty targets. <"If you're after the bounty on my head it's been removed."> He referred to when the Queen Mother of Hapan had placed a two million credit bounty on him. Some bounty hunters may have mistaken him for still being a viable target.

Satori barely had time to react. Just a hard, unseen swallow and an awkward head nod before the other Mandalorian stood in front of her. She hadn't realized just how much she'd missed her native tongue until he spoke to her in Mando'a. For just a moment home didn't seem quite so far away.

The teenager's natural curiosity begged the question: why had he had a bounty on his head? What had he done or whose bad side had he gotten on? Satori didn't keep up with current affairs, and growing up on Dxun had been exposed to very little of the galaxy. She thought better of the question and bit her tongue, instead responding in kind, "I know of no such bounty." That came out a little more formal than she had intended.

On a whim, and more than a little homesick, she decided to be upfront with him. Perhaps he would be willing to point her in the right direction. "I'm looking for a dug by the name of Ralousa. I heard he might be here." Or at the very least she might pick up his trail. @Darasuum

Hauron paused and eyed the stranger after her answer. They sounded feminine and to be telling the truth. Sometimes it was hard to tell one's sex when wearing armor, impossible even and in mandalorian culture it rarely mattered. The Ordo's answer would put him a little more at ease.

The mandalorian's helmet tilted to the side in a way that signified a degree of surprise. <"Then we must have similar sources. I'm also after Ralousa."> He touched a hand to his chest for emphasis.

<"How does a fifty-fifty split sound?"> The Bounty Hunter's third line in their code of conduct, "No Hunter Shall Slay Another Hunter". Which meant they could still fight over this bounty so long as they did not murder the other. The Guild allowed competition between hunters but also encouraged cooperation. The Solus would rather the two work together rather than against one another. <"Two buckets are better than one.">

If the seemingly young Ordo wanted to try their luck on their own they were welcome to. Hauron would not shoot them there in the street or anything so extreme. But it was hard to read one's face with a T visor in the way. That street went both ways so he waited patiently to see how the fellow bounty hunter answered.
