Born to unknown parents on the ecumenical world of Correllia, Ace fell into a life of crime at a young age, joining a swoop gang and becoming a ‘Blooded Rider’ by the age of twelve. His basic schooling took place in the streets, and soon saw him catapulted into serious criminal exploits when most others ought to be heading into college of military schools.
Naturally such a life did not pass unnoticed by the authorities, and he did several spells in a penitentiary - firstly for possession of spice, then for GBH with intent. Following his final stint behind bars, he smartened up his act and opened up a small bar on the roving space station ’Bounty of the Stars’ a large and relatively lawless station in the outer rim that served some of the asteroid mining interests in the area.
The club took off and was purchased by a Hutt Lord, with movers and shakers from across the Galaxy congregating to what soon became one of the hottest destinations in the rim. Using the meager revenue from the sale, Ace purchased himself a ship and took to the stars as a 'Free Trader’ instead.

Personality & Skills
A fun loving human, with an addiction to the finer things in life, Ace has a troubling issue with Spice and Alcohol Consumption, and a ready supply thanks to his profession. Known to be open to trying new things, and meeting new people - he none the less has a cynical view on life, having been as he would say ’round the block’ a fair few times. He is acutely aware that most people look out for themselves first, and loyalty tends to be bought or traded away rapidly.
As such he is slow to trust others, and is something of a control freak, preferring to meet and do business with people on his terms, or not at all. Insofar as wider Galactic Politics goes, he does everything in his power to ensure he remains neutral, preferring to act as host rather than partner.
Aside from this he has pretty average skills across the board, although he does like to think he has a way with words and is a very talented pilot - but as they say, such things are subjective and left to the opinion of others. Educationally speaking, he is not intelligent, rather he has wisdom brought about by experience.
Biography
Born on Corellia, Ace has had a convoluted an active life, ranging from his time on the streets as a Swoop Gang, moving into the world of entertainment and then as a Smuggler.
Early Years
Despite there being no official records as to the identity of his parents, Ace has long maintained that his father was a Military Pilot for the Republic - and has long believed that it is this influence that gave him his name. Official records state that he was born ‘of an illegitimate coupling’, something he has never been able to investigate further. Regardless, he was placed into an orphanage on the lower levels of Coronet City, and soon fell in with some of the Children's Street Gangs under the protection of the ‘Raptors’ Swoop ‘Collective’ - a criminal group that tore up the streets near his place of birth.
The Raptors
As was expected, when he turned twelve, Ace was formally initiated into the Raptors Swoop Gang, and carried out his first hit on a small business owner whose name Ace has long forgotten. Blindfolded and orders to ‘Point and Shoot’, he was welcomed into the Gang as a ‘Blooded’ member, and awarded his own side arm and swoop. It did not take long for violence to become an everyday part of his life, and he was carrying out Hits and Shootouts on an almost daily basis in his teenage years.
Missing out on his schooling as a result, much of his formative education was carried out by other Gang members and even droids - with a lot of it being second hand or corrupted knowledge. He had developed a knack for tinkering and engineering however, thanks to a process of observation and practice.
Climbing the Ranks
Having proven himself more talented that his recruiter had expected, he once again took to the streets - alongside several former inmates of the prisons, heading his own ‘Pack’ of Swoopers within the Gang. He climbed the ranks with ease, his own physical strength, and quick wit easily seeing off competitors within the Gang. Becoming an Underboss by the time he was twenty-two, he was soon running his own branch of the Gang, and was well and truly one of the ‘Made Men’ of the Raptors.
In this new position he developed a penchant for forming his own distinctive brand of violence, as well as attracting a new ‘sophisticated’ approach to dealing with criminal disputes. Gathering a sizable force of henchmen around him, he adopted a businesslike approach to dealing with things, preferring to seek mediation whilst preparing for a single decisive strike against his enemies.
It was this new method of doing things that allowed him to rise even higher in the ranks of the Raptors, and soon he supplanted even the Boss himself, instructing his Underbosses to honor their criminal arrangements - ‘contracts’ as he called them, and thus enabling the Raptors business to expand and expand, their reputation shifting from ‘Brutes’ to a fully organised crime family.
Raptors Bar
With money coming in, and reputation to match, Ace took the hint and backed out before he pushed his luck too far. Opening a Bar, and continuing to attend races as a spectator rather than a participant, he named his Bar ‘Raptors’ in homage to the Gang of his youth. It was to be a successful venture, hosted on a moving asteroid mining star station, and he kept it open for near on a half a decade before being forced out by some of the more hostile elements of Mining Station Society, in the form of a local Hutt who paid him pittance to leave the system.
Current Day
Moving out as fast as his legs could carry him, Ace purchased a used YT series frieghter and took to the nearest port to make a few modifications of his own, souping up the engines and hyperdrives so that he could attempt to go it alone - his instinct and his blaster all he had left.
Ship and Equipment
Like all men of his profession, Ace has a set of equipment that could be considered to be his signature gear. This is made up of a standard issue flight suit, most likely found within his ship when he purchased it. It is a Gibbous Series Flight Suit, and comes with a HUD helmet and a wrist mounted datapad. Ace makes use of a BR8R Blaster Pistol, which is always at his side but otherwise travels light.
It is his ship, The Astral Star, a YG-300 that he is most proud of however. Repleat with smuggling compartments as well as a torpedo tube in its fixed slot, the ship is his pride and joy - and as he tells anyone who will listen, the fastest in the system.
Alongside this he has a Swoop Bike, called the Raptor, which rests in the ships hold - as something of a reminder of his early days and youth.
