Coruscant

In the busy air traffic over the former imperial capital of Coruscant, three ships flew in tight formation. They made for a rather awkward sight, one Crux-class star fighter led a Vector-class shuttle followed by a VT-1100 light freighter along the approach lanes into the atmosphere of the bustling city-planet. Shikari Gale sat in the cockpit of her Crux class, with her subordinate pilots in the shuttle and the freighter behind. This was the second-such trip that she had made, ferrying all of her subordinates to the planet, and it was beginning to wear on her. The cockpit of the Crux was cramped and not especially comfortable, and the trip here from Ilum had been rather long. She would have honestly preferred to have been riding in the fairly-comfortable shuttle or in the much more comfortable freighter. But, this was a rather important mission, and while they were not carrying anything of particular value, she wasn't going to trust her single support fighter to one of her peons, skilled though they were. Each of them was trained at the Imperial Academy, and had come with top recommendations. She had chosen only the best when she had been granted her command, and she had ensured that they stayed with her after the merger of the two empires.

The merger of the empires was the main reason why she was here today, and was really what made this whole mission possible. The merger and the removal of the capital status from Coruscant to Korriban had created quite a bit of confusion, and she was here to capitalize on said confusion to acquire things that the Sacellum desperately needed back on Ilum. The time was right, and she needed to act before things were really locked down by the new government. Shikari slowly spun her fighter, inverting it as she made her drop through the atmosphere, the shuttle and the freighter mimicking her movement behind her. Switching on her locator beacon, Shikari immediately got a ping from the beacon's sister down on the planet's surface. Good, that meant that the fifteen men she had dropped off on the last run had followed her commands and kept the beacon lit so she could find them quickly and easily. The planet was so busy and overgrown with the constantly changing city that she had been worried she would loose half of her men to desertion. But it seemed that they were still in place, holding the landing pad she had requisitioned with their aid. "Arch Priestess Gale on approach with escort in tow. Prepare for landing." As the Crux and the two larger ships behind it made their final approach to the floating landing pad hovering in the sky between the massive skyscrapers, she could see the rest of her men down below. All fifteen that she had brought before were present and accounted for. Judging by the empty shipping containers and food trash pushed to the side of the platform, she would have to guess that they made their accommodations right there on the platform while she had made the second run back to Ilum. That was taking her orders to hold the platform for her return to a bit of an extreme, but she was glad to see that they had accomplished that first part of the mission. Shikari's fighter circled the platform as the shuttle and the freighter dropped their landing gear and touched down, then she followed suit. As she popped the canopy of her fighter and greeted the fresh, if a little polluted, air of Coruscant, one of the men she had left behind before approached and saluted her. "Ma'am, all men present and accounted for. We await your orders." Shikari looked up to see the rest of her pilots walking down the ramps from the freighter and the shuttle. Bastards had had it easy on this trip. "Excellent commander. Get your men ready to fly. We're here to get ships."

Coruscant. Entire planet is one big city.

And Mid hated just about every block of it. Having lived more than 40 years on Korriban he wasn't used to massive, intimidating buildings and preferred smaller towns to this.

But it didn't matter. Arch-Priestess Shikari Gale asked him to help out with a mission to reinforce and establish the holy Sacellum and he was duty-bound to accept her request.

The freighter touched down and he was a bit put off by the smell of the planet. It smelled just about the same as how it looked to him from afar.

He met her on the landing pad, still not understanding why she's dragging these poor pilots along all over. Once again he was clad in his duraplast armour, topped off with the black cloak draped over it, but his helmet was instead under his right arm when he reached her, looking down at her with his bright golden eyes.

"What's the mission this time? What ships are we going after?" he spoke up as he approached her, overhearing the conversation.

"A pleasure to see you again, sister. How have you been?" he said in a much more light hearted tone as he stood next to her and the pilot she was speaking to.

Shikari turned and looked behind her as she heard the familiar voice of Mid Samekh. The speaker of the Sacellum was proving to be quite reliable, at least on these little voyages. In truth, these "little voyages" had proved quite productive so far, and she planned to do many more of them in order to continue building up the military assets of the Sacellum. Eriana may not have been the fighting type, but Shikari certainly was, and it was her job to protect Eriana, the Sacellum, and all of their interests. Not only that, but Shikari was expecting that her role was going to become a bit larger soon as Eriana was showing interest in expansion for the Sacellum. Shikari had suggested some possible targets in private and Eriana had really appeared to take a liking to several of them. This was quite exciting. Even if Eriana was not intending to join her on the battlefield, Shikari was looking forward to the opportunity to shine.

Shikari turned to Mid as he approached. The sith pureblood was indeed a devoted worker, but much to Shikari's dismay, he had little to no skill as a pilot and, despite his powerful appearance, he had seemed to shy away from the opportunity for combat. Shikari wondered if there were any in the Sacellum who would share her lust for violence and bloodshed, or if Eriana would only attract the comparatively "peaceful" sith who focused on training and studies? It would certainly be nice if they could recruit some skilled warriors who weren't afraid of a fight. But still, Shikari was developing a kind of fondness for Mid, as he continued to aid her in her struggle to build a fighting force for the Sacellum. "Greetings brother Mid. It is good to see you again. Welcome to Coruscant. The mission today is much like the last. Almost exactly as the last, in fact. Acquire more assets for the Sacellum. Today in the form of Crux fighters, just as before."

As the landing platform began to descend from the skys to the ground below, Shikari walked to the edge of the platform and gazed out at the massive buildings as they seemed to rise up above them while they descended. She motioned for Mid to follow her. "I'm sure you must be feeling somewhat bored by this mission, considering that it is practically the same as the last one I brought you on. But rest assured, these missions will prove invaluable to the Sacellum in the long run. I have many more resources to gather and I have targeted everything I need. Continue to aid me in my quest and I promise that you will see results in the end and will personally benefit from the effort." Shikari turned to look at Mid straight on. "On that line of thought, when this mission is over, I'd like to invite you to a meeting on Ilum I am holding. I have a lead on some assets for the protection of the temple itself and Eriana and the other speakers within. Nothing to fancy, but a tactically sound acquisition. I'd like you to be a part of it. You're proving invaluable in your aid on these missions, even if they are somewhat straightforward." As she spoke, the platform reached the ground level, which wasn't truly the ground at all but was the roof of another building below where a small fleet of transport speeders were awaiting them and Shikari's men.

Mid looked down at the Pantoran as she spoke, welcoming him to the dreadful planet. "Just a rinse and repeat, huh? Doesn't sound too bad." he said as he followed her, rather caught off guard as the floor descended beneath him. "Oh wonderful." he grumbled to himself.

He listened intently as she spoke, watching the massive city going about it's business, the speeders and ships sitting in traffic despite the open air around them. While it would probably just cause utter anarchy if everyone flew in their own direction, the thought of being stuck in the same position for hours on end didn't sit well at all with the Pureblood. When she turned to face him he did the same, staring right into her eyes. He waited for her to finish before speaking up. "I'd be honoured to join the meeting, the safety of the Church is of the utmost importance. I daresay it's the duty of everyone in the church to aid in it's defences in whatever way they can, not just for warriors like you or me." He turned to face the city once again. "But between you and me...I was hoping for a more action packed mission this time. All these diplomatic missions are a little tiring. But in the end it's for the Sacellum, so boring or not it has to be done." he spoke casually.

The platform reached the 'bottom' and Mid turned to face the speeders, rather taken back that they weren't on the ground. "Wait...how far down does the city go? I know the city is high up, but how much lower does it go exactly?" he asked her as he walked over to the speeders, sliding behind the handle of one and starting it up without a problem. He revved the engine up a bit as he waited for Shikari to lead the way.
