BASE OF OPERATIONS / HOME / SAFEHOUSES:
The Eyrie- the ancestral home of the House of Palliser, located on top of a mountain overlooking the city of Castermaine.
Chandrilla Estate- a well appointed home where the Archduchess is known to host meetings and small gatherings for acquaintances in the Senate and friends visiting from Kuat and other worlds.
Chandrilla Office,Senate Hall- An office located in the Senate Hall.
Kuat Office- An office located in Kuat where she spends around a quarter of her time so she can meet with her constituents.
BIOGRAPHY
The Archduchess of Palliser was born as the eldest daughter and heir to the late Archduke and his wife. Who were by no means an agreeable couple, the Archduchess and her mother were united in their intense dislike of their wastrel for a father and husband respectively. Her father and her quarrelled over everything, but mostly how he was blowing their fortune and causing them to lose face. Yet when she looks back over it, she sees that she really shouldn’t complain.
The scion of an ancient line, her path was ordained from birth. Tutored by the finest minds money can buy, socialised with the rich and powerful, and raised in a cutthroat world, what better than to become the Senator of Kuat? The cursus honorum awaited (a series of military and civil posts designed to instil a sense of leadership and responsibility). She attended the Kuati Military Academy and graduated third in her class and upon graduation, rose to the rank of Commander. Upon her retirement after 13 years of service, she served as the treasurer of Kuat Drive Yards for 4 years and a governor for 3 years. For her distinguished service as governor she was appointed the Senator of Kuat and has held this post for 8 years.
She has 3 children, two daughters Marie and Victoire and a son Louis and two grandchildren by the eldest daughter Victoire. Louis has been something of a disappointment for her and the family in general. While the twins Marie and Victoire have followed in the footsteps of their mother. Marie is the current treasurer of KDY and Victoire is a Commander in the Kuati Planetary Defence Force. Marie is married to Prince Tan Prestor in an arranged marriage, to solidify a powerful voting bloc. It is a simple matter to understand why, nobility have to look out for each other.
PERSONALITY
The Archduchess of Palliser is an aristocratic women, that goes without saying. She’s civil and polite. She isn’t one to publicly snub, it’s more like, trying to talk to a foolish child. Yet she does recognise good ideas and prefers to sit on the sidelines and act through others, keeping her true opinions hidden behind a carefully constructed mask. It is difficult to read her true opinions and only her closest friends see them. For it is rude for a Kuati noble to show her emotions outwardly.
POLITICAL VIEWS
Archduchess Palliser is a fan of giving the Republic a limited military to be used to guard trade lanes and combat smugglers and pirates. She is not for a military designed to engage in war. For that might mean forced centralisation through gunboat diplomacy. She feels that it is also the job of the enlightened Core to help industrialise the Outer Rim. She feels the best way to do this is to encourage capitalism at its finest. A competition of sorts by granting charters to develop worlds. By developing these worlds, she feels that they can become a better part of the Republic.
