[fancybox2] APPEARANCE[/fancybox2]

Adan has short dirty-blonde hair that is often kept messy. His high, lightly freckled, cheekbones frame empty eye-sockets that are obsessively covered. His prominent jawline frames full lips, often pulled into some sort of grin. Thick eyebrows, often furrowed, are the same color as his hair. Years of training means that his body is strong and lean, muscles reflecting years of climbing and running.

Adan is most commonly seen dressed in brown jedi robes, with a tan tunic underneath, brown brown boots, and a brown belt. When in combat, Alric wears a set of Modular Jedi Armor, devoid of any personal flairs. A simple brown blindfold is wrapped carefully, and tightly, around his eyes at almost all times, shrouding them completely from view. He appears obviously blindfolded to anyone he approaches, giving away his miralukan heritage. The blindfold itself is knotted tightly at the back of the head, to prevent anyone using the cloth itself against him.

[fancybox2]BIOGRAPHY[/fancybox2]

Before the Jedi, Adan Caal was the unexpected and unwanted child of two Miralukan smugglers. As a burden to them and their trade, Adan was delivered to an orphanage on Alpheridies and promptly forgotten. Unbeknownst to him, his parents would later find the time to make further offspring, which they kept close, giving Adan brothers and sisters he would likely never meet. Despite this, the next three years of his life involved being surrounded by other Miralukan children, receiving the basic care afforded to them by the orphanages various care-taker droids. With little stimulation, Adan was left to his imagination and play, up until his force sensitivity was discovered.

At the time of this discovery, a kind, old Jedi Master had been making his rounds across the planet in a routine search for force sensitives. Taking particular interest in Adan's ability, the Master offered to take the boy off of the Orphanage's hands to induct him into the Jedi order. Without much input from Caal himself, the young Miralukan was whisked away to the Jedi Temple of Tython, where he would spend the rest of his childhood.

Growing up on Tython was a vastly different experience compared to Alpheridies, considering the fact that most of his peers perceived the world in a way he never could, and vice versa. Despite this initial hang-up, Adan adapted to life in the temple extremely well, favoring the routine and structure that had been absent in his life up until that point. Physical training, regular education, and swordsmanship kept him occupied for much of his childhood, and formed the foundations of the skills he would later take full advantage of. It was during this time that his interest in ancient history was nurtured. The ancient temple of Tython, and the equally ancient ruins that littered the planet left Adan dreaming of times now past. His teachers and guardians indulged his interests, giving him the resources and guidance needed to turn them into passions.

Adan's passion for history only grew as he gained the competency to be considered a Padawan of the order, at around age ten. In fact, his interest in history eventually resulted in his transition from the Temple on Tython to the Temple on Ilum. Though far colder than anything he had ever imagined, the Temple itself was a treasure trove of ancient history, holding some of the oldest and most important relics of the Jedi Order. It was there that he apprenticed under a Jedi Master with a particular fondness for history and the origin of the Jedi Order. When he wasn't training, Adan could often be found admiring the crystal sculptures littering the temple, as they depicted the history of the Order.

If it wasn't for his master, Adan might have never began to take interest in the origin of the Jedi, and their counterpart the Sith. The original conflict that created the schism between the two groups was shrouded by time, and his master had devoted a large portion of his life to discovering the exact reason behind the schism. If history had taught his master anything, it was that the Jedi had originally failed themselves, and continued to fail themselves with each fallen Jedi turned toward the allure of the dark side. This haunted him, and his intense focus on such subjects would bleed into Adan's own education. Eventually, his master's studies took him off-world to a location in unknown space, somewhere Adan could not follow. Adan's master never returned, and his education was later continued under a more combat oriented Knight.

It was under this Knight that Adan faced his first trial as a Jedi, the construction of his own lightsaber. Following the traditional path, Adan faced his fears with others who had arrived on the Crucible, and eventually came into possession of his very own Kyder Crystal. When he forged his Saber, the one he still uses today, the Kyber Crystal took on a purple hue, in some way reflecting the influence of his original master, and the taboo subjects he had delved into. Despite this, Adan felt closer to the order than he ever had. In his teenage years the Jedi had become his family, and the devotion to his education and training became even more intense.

As he grew older, he and his master would often depart Ilum to partake in missions offered by the Order. The Order itself began to react to an increasingly chaotic galaxy, and Adan was able to experience the galaxy like he never had before. Unfortunately, war soured his view of the galaxy, and forced him to ponder the failings of the Jedi and the Sith, as his original master had. The increasing conflict would keep him from any worthwhile exploration, however, and his interests would continue to go untapped for years.

At the age of 18, as he prepared for the move back to Tython to endure the Trials of Knighthood, Ilum received the news of the Temple's destruction. Having made many friends and acquaintances among the Jedi, consulars, and staff present on the Temple, the loss was devastating for Adan. This twist of fate would see the young man move to Lothar instead, where he would successfully face his trials and be inducted into the order as a Jedi Knight. However, the death of his friends would continue to haunt him for the next five years of his life. The tragedy itself would result in Adan revisiting the studies of his original master, compelling him to dive deeper into the history of the force and those who wielded it.

Eventually, this historical intrigue would lead him to relocate to the planet of Jedha and the growing Jedi presence there. The ruins, the Holy City, and the Temple itself all afforded opportunities for Adan to further his master's work. As a fully fledged Knight, Adan often divides his time between missions for the order, as well as his personal hunt for historical information.

[fancybox2]PERSONALITY[/fancybox2]

Most circles within the order would describe Adan as generally kind and patient, if not a bit aloof to stressful situations in life. His easy-going, non-confrontational nature has set him apart from the increasing war-like tendencies of his fellow Jedi. He strives to treat those he encounters with respect and civility, even during stressful or hostile situations. A grin is never far from his face, and he is often found cracking jokes, or playing subtle pranks on those around him. His initial appearance as a blind man only adds to his tomfoolery.

While this behavior allows Adan to come off as ambivalent to the conflict the Jedi have entered, anyone who gets to know him will come to find that he is an extremely driven, goal-centered person. The conflicts between the Jedi and the Sith are as old as time itself, and Adan has spent most of his young life attempting to trace the roots of this conflict, as well as the hidden mysteries of the force and history. One of his major interests for this very reason is Archaeology, and when he is not on missions or expeditions, his nose is almost always pointed toward the Archives.

Adan is extremely pragmatic, often favoring his own reasoning and solutions rather than strictly abide to theoretical ideals and customs. While this applies to the Jedi Code to an extent, Adan finds it far more difficult to go against the guidelines that have been drilled into him from a young age.

[fancybox2] ATTRIBUTES[/fancybox2]

STRENGTH: Adan is of average strength, routinely exercising to maintain his warrior-esque physique. His ability in the force only serves to amplify this, as it does with any force user, however, his own lean frame is far better suited for climbing and running, than it is for direct physical combat.

DEXTERITY: Years of training and exercise have left Adan lithe and flexible, what he lacks for in strength he makes up for in agility. Adan prefers to move around his enemies, or anything for that matter, always staying in motion. Due to his innate force sight, Adan's reflexes are especially heightened. While this can make him dangerous in certain situations, this only applies to his limited perception of the world around him.

CONSTITUTION: Adan is considered healthy for a Miralukan, completely capable of most feats, despite the initial impression of being blind. Serious sickness has yet to plague the young man, besides a mysterious illness in his youth, that left his voice slightly scratchy.

INTELLIGENCE: Having spent an equal measure in education and physical training, Adan is known as a "book worm" or sorts. He is well versed in the higher mysteries of the force, and often dabbles in taboo topics that other Jedi might prefer to leave untouched. His passion for learning, and discovery, has allowed him to adapt to an ever changing galaxy.

WISDOM: Adan tries to think about the consequences of his actions before acting, but he is still young, and with his youth comes a lack of experience. While Adan would like to consider himself wise, he still has much to learn.

CHARISMA: Adan's kind, yet reserved, nature has allowed him to make both friends and enemies in equal measure. People often either like him, or they don't.

SKILLS:

Language: Adan is a Polyglot, meaning he speaks multiple languages. He is both fluent in Basic and Miralukese. During his time training as a Jedi, Adan also managed to pick up a non-native speaking grasp of Huttese and Bocce.

Lightsaber Combat: Adan excels in Form I, having been trained in it from a young age. In his later years of training, Adan chose to specialize in Makashi and Soresu, preferring both forms' focus on momentum and movement, allowing him to become advanced in both forms. He practices his blade-work more often, after the destruction of Tython.

Force Ability: As a recently christened Jedi Knight, Adan considers his ability in the force to be well rounded and average, with a few exceptions. Adan is quite a skilled healer, and has devoted much attention to refining his particular skills in the process. Though it exhausts him greatly, he considers himself strong enough to help keep peers alive should they come into harms way. Adan also turns his focus toward energy manipulation, especially for defensive means. Barriers, shields, and tutaminis are the centers of his focus, in this regard.

Adan Caal does not "see" in a physical sense, as he has no eyes. Instead of being completely blind however, his Miralukan heritage has allowed him a unique in-grown mastery of force sight. Not only is Adan's entire world colorless and semi-translucent, his force sight allows him the capacity to see in a "sphere" rather than a forward facing "cone". For that reason, he is more aware of his surroundings than the average human. He does not need any source of light to see, and could therefor move in absolute darkness. The sphere itself, however, encompasses a limited range. Adan is keenly aware of his immediate area and surroundings within (50 ft in every direction from his head), while objects become less defined at (100 ft in every direction from his head), eventually tapering off until they are completely invisible to him by (300 ft in every direction from his head). While his allies might see an armed escort approaching down a long stretch of road, Adan would be completely unaware.

Most inanimate walls and objects appear in a semi-translucent state, meaning he has a vague sense of what could be in a box, behind walls/closed doors, though this impression sharpens slightly the closer he is to the interfering object. Though colorless, Adan can differentiate between different "shades" of his semi-translucent world, the shades themselves being impressions through the force. Droids, without their connection to the force, appear in this same semi-translucent fashion. Living beings, on the other hand, stand out much more through their far more intense connection with the force. While still colorless, Adan can make out living beings by their inherent force signatures, effectively viewing them as one with regular sight might view a force ghost, with much more solidity. Adan is much more likely to know someone by the "impression" or "aura" their force signature bleeds, rather than physical qualities (such as red hair, dark skin).

Due to his sight relying entirely on his connection to the force, it is limited in locations where the force has been "dampened" and absent in locations where the force is absent. As the force permeates the galaxy, these instances are rare, but creatures that have no connection to the force are completely invisible to him. Visual illusions are of little consequence to Adan, as he cannot physically see, but other sensory illusions are just as tricky. Stealth fields are also extremely dangerous to use, as Adan would be unable to tell if they were actually on or not.

*Important Note: There is no set description of true force sight, especially how it is used by Miraluka in the EU, so everything above is my direct interpretation from what I have gone over in my own research/reasoning, as well as the research/reasoning of others.

*While there is some suggestion that Miralukan's can "see" force alignment with their force sight, this is either OP or simply a game mechanic. I have decided to forgo this aspect of his sight completely for that reason. He is as aware of force alignment as the standard Jedi, no more no less.

Mechanics/Piloting (Starfighter): Adan has picked up a decent competency in piloting Starfighters. However, the only experience he has had with actual spaceships solely surrounds the controls of a NX-3 Starfighter that he acquired during his induction into Knighthood. He knows enough to keep it running on the fly, but any mechanical skill pas that is beyond him.

[fancybox2]KNOWN ASSOCIATES[/fancybox2]

Though Adan Caal has made countless friends and acquaintances during his life in the Jedi, many have either become estranged or died in battle. A majority of his friends were located on Tython during its eradication.

Kyber Ortaigen | After having completed a mission together, both Jedi have developed a friendly bond. The Initiate's spit-fire personality has caught the Knight's attention, as well as his admiration. Kyber's skill in piloting has given Adan a reason to increase his own.

Kara | One of Adan's unknown siblings. Though they have yet to meet, fate may drive them together very soon. @Soup

Daleia | One of Adan's unknown siblings. She lived the life Adan might have, if he had been adopted while on Alpheridies. As a member of the Sith, it is likely the two will encounter one another, at least at some point. @Danee

CREDIT COUNT: 1,000 cR

GEAR

  • Purple Lightsaber- The hilt itself is built to be more pleasing to the sense of touch, than the sense of sight. The ergonomic, ribbed design of the hilt itself allows for a firm, yet comfortable grip when in use. Most strikingly, the hilt is curved in the fashion used by Makashi practitioners, a rare sight. It is also magnetically locked, meaning it can either be lopped into a belt, or simply tacked onto his Modular armor plating.
  • Jedi Robes and Tunic- Colors often clash, as they mean little to someone who cannot see color.
  • Modular Jedi Armor- The absolute standard, kept neat and polished, but devoid of any personal flair.
  • Brown Blindfold- Simple, brown, and long enough to be wrapped around the head with little excess cloth.
  • S41 Light Firearm- Always tucked into his belt, and only used for emergencies.

[fancybox2]ADAN'S ADVENTURES[/fancybox2]

Note: Assembled in a rough, chronological order.

When you have a gun, everyone looks like a Sith | Thousands of the interesting people pass through NiJedha daily, but not so interesting as a droid learning the ways of the force, and the woman accompanying him. [Ongoing]

Ghosts of Jedha | It has always been rumored that the Catacombs of Cadera were haunted, but Adan did not pay much attention to the rumors until now. Faced with direct evidence of something.. odd.. happening within the complex, Adan and Initiate Nak Ammati have gone to investigate. After discovering the source of the "haunting" and the droids meant to guard the speakers, Adan and Nak delved further into the mystery of the catacombs. [Ongoing]

The Ground Beneath Our Feet | After a night spent camping in a desert cavern, Adan is about to have the surprise of his life. [Ongoing]

Cool Kids Clubhouse | Adan attends a party on Jedha. In the midst of the festivities, Adan has met a new friend by the name of Omren Dii. [Complete]

Highway to the Danger Zone | Adan and an initiate by the name Kyber are dispatched from Lothal as diplomats to the planet Sullust, vested with the responsibility of saving Sullust's only flight academy. Though rigid at first, the professional boundary between the two men blurs into a burgeoning friendship. Both employ their skills, namely diplomacy and flight, to garner a new (and hopefully lasting) boon for the Jedi Order. @Kyber Krystal [Complete]

Murky Circumstance | After having crashed on a mysterious planet in the fringes of the Outer Rim, Adan Caal has awoke to a nightmare. [Ongoing]
