Systech Corporation

Systech Corporation was founded in 6897 BBY and signaled in a new era in criminal ventures. Seeming to be a legit law-abiding corporation to many worlds, including the Republic, that earned its credits through adrenal manufacturing, medicine research and non-lethal means of self defense, it was in fact a front to various criminal activities linked to the Hutt Cartel. It was one of the big players in the coaxium raids of 6897 BBY and its personnel consisted of suspects of various armed robberies, extortion attempts and acts of illegal smuggling.

Despite its apparent large area of operations, spanning from Nar Shaddaa to Coruscant, the corporate headquarters or better yet the only corporate asset of Systech Corporation could be found on Quesh, where it operated a modest research facility. Personnel was exclusively based at this facility for long periods of time and while they were often seen going offworld for either research or security they seemed to gravitate to Quesh for R&R. Their comfort in living on Quesh showed as they all addressed the corporation's director with his first name, Davik.​

History

Years ago, before his rivalry with the Syndicate, Davik Lorso was on Alderaan to create corporate smokescreens to mask a growing spice trade and an idea formulated in his head. The Hutt Cartel did all its work right in the open, which forced them to create difficult money laundering schemes and corporate shells in order to operate outside of their own domain. That cost them many credits, which in Davik's mind was entirely too much. In the ensuing four years he walked around as a Vigo in the cartel, Davik refused to join in such open displays of criminal debauchery and instead lived on his Farsight Scout Ship on whatever planet had a large enough hangar or landing dock. Despite of his lack of assets compared to other Vigo's, Davik did do the work and on contract killed Supreme Mogul Gulla, Lorda Colimma and the Serenno War Council. His HoloNet banking account was getting larger and larger.

That is, until the cartel's hunt for Coaxium and Isotope-5 made him think. What if he could organize a steady demand in goods there was always a want for and at the same time make the credits appear as legal as can be? After reading the book of Alderaan business man Ronnal Tumy the answer turned out to be extremely simple: Start a business on a world without oversight and produce a product that no one understands. Thus Systech Corporation was born and after acquiring a research facility on Quesh and using his own Farsight Scout Ship as collateral it was open for business in the summer of 6897 BBY.​

General Description

A facility on Quesh isn't exactly prime real estate and this building has the looks that prove it. As the headquarters for Davik Lorso's Systech Corporation, this facility is both his home as place from where he manages his (illicit) work orders.

It's primary function is that of a research and syntheses facility for adrenals and non-lethal gases, but the majority of personnel consists of cartel basadi, deucalian mercenaries and smugglers that all have a home at the facility as well. Combine that with Quesh' naturally toxic atmosphere and you get a building that's also a community center and home, creating a close-knit group and a new kind of criminal. ​

Exterior Laboratory Bar Bedrooms

  Non-descriptive, the facility does not bear the corporation's name on its exterior and does not seem any different from the other hundreds of adrenal facilities on the planet.
  
  It does have one private Landing Dock for Davik's Farsight Scout Ship ('Catscratch') and features some marshland on which small ships could land with some difficulty (not advised for the inexperienced pilot).

  The official function of the facility is the creation of and research into adrenals and non-lethal gases. That research is done in this modest part of the building. This would not be a place where personnel hangs out and with their health in highest regards they really shouldn't.

  Frankly, this is the place to be. Since it's Quesh and not Coronet City, spice is openly poured into your drink if you so desire and as you're on Quesh you know you that's the case. Davik's signature 'Bantha milk with a pinch of Glitteryl' is available here... and that could make it unique this side of the galaxy. All drinks are, of course, on the house...ehh facility.. he corporate tab. Hic!

  Not particularly spacious or comfortable, the facility is able to provide beds for its onsite personnel:

  Personnel is encouraged to spent their downtime at the bar.

Intent

This Adrenal Synthesis Facility is the sole asset of Davik Lorso and is operated under the shell name of 'Systech Corporation'. Note that it is not meant to grow into a large criminal empire, but rather exists to reflect the IC actions and acquired wealth. For example, if Davik earns 10 million credits in the Makeb event then the research facility will get a hangar attached and with another 10 million the research lab will get an upgrade. In the end this will serve as a continued background for plots and hopefully the growing importance of corporations in the galaxy.​

While I get that your intent isn't to form a criminal empire like some of the other vigos and lordas have, Systech Corporation still needs a PC Faction write-up before it can start acquiring assets. This is especially true if you have other PCs working alongside you for this project.

Otherwise, this is just basically Davik's personal lab and I'll have to approve it as such.

I've decided to drop the PC-faction and make this facility, and thus Systech Corporation, personal lore. The asset and personnel reflect Vigo status within the cartel, expenditure of various high-profile threads as well as IC-actions (like when Davik recruited Colimma's guards in our assassination thread) and his noted use of the White Wolves mercenary corp. Systech Corporation will not act or exist outside of Davik's personal threads and this one asset (security-wise) and thus will not receive an NPC org write-up.
