Aengus Cadeyrn

Rear_Admiral_van_Richten_by_Corneli.jpg

NAME: Aengus Cadeyrn
FACTION: Republic
RANK: Supreme Commander
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 45 Standard Years
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: 5'-10"
WEIGHT: 135lbs
EYES: Hazel/Brown
HAIR: White
SKIN: Caucasian
CREDITS:
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Missing his right eye
DOMINATE HAND: Left
FORCE SENSITIVE: N/A

STRENGTH: Aengus is not a strong man. He has the strength of an average individual, and that's about it. 5/10
DEXTERITY: In the past, Aengus was quick on his feet, but due to old age, he is not as fast as he once was. He is, at best, a quick runner and can react quickly. 5.5/10
CONSTITUTION: Despite his lack of a right eye and his age, Aengus is quite healthy. 9/10
INTELLIGENCE: The man is smarter than the average bear, and can remember things such as the specs of a ship type and how to use them to his advantage. 7/10
WISDOM: In his line of work, Aengus is incredibly wise. He's a natural tactician. 9/10
CHARISMA: Aengus is strict, but laid back, making him a demanding, but kind man, thereby gaining trust and influence easily. 10/10

SKILLS:
Aengus is, as previously stated, a tactician at heart and in mind. He is able to 'read' a person and make connections with them, making for a charismatic leader. If not for his hatred of politics, he would make a damn good politician. Along with these few things, Aengus is, at best, an okay shot with a pistol.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Aengus is a tactician and average shot with a pistol. Couple these things with his quick thinking and quicker-than-average reaction time, and he is fairly deadly when on the field. He also has a knack for reading people, and being very understanding of them, making it easier for him to gain their trust.

However, due to his lack of a right eye, he does have trouble finding his targets at times, and can occasionally hit a wall that he doesn't see on his right side. Also due to this handicap, his peripheral vision is limited, making it harder for him to take everything into account all at once. This weakness is overcome slightly by his constant scanning of the areas around him during a battle with the quick turn of his head, sometimes making for a comical scene.

GEAR:
A golden watch
Blaster

SHIP:

PERSONALITY:

Aengus is laid-back for the most part, priding himself on being strict and just while being less of an ass than most leaders at the same time. He has always been understanding since he was a child, and because of this, he can connect with people, and talk to them on a more personal level if need be.

HISTORY:

Aengus Cadeyrn was born on Coruscant during a time of peace in the year 13,045 BBY. He was an average child, who had average parents, who were middle-class citizens. His father owned and ran a cantina in the corporate districts of Coruscant, where the planet's biggest businessmen ended up going for their lunch breaks. The things those businessmen told his father, who was the bartender, gave his father enough ammunition to blackmail his family's way past middle-class when Aengus was only 7 years old.

Aengus was very close to his father, looking up to him as an idol at times, though he did not want to follow in his father's footsteps. His grandfather had been a member of the planetary Navy back on Corellia before his father moved his mother and himself to Coruscant, and Aengus enjoyed the stories his grandfather would tell him when he visited them on Coruscant. This led Aengus to research the Republic Navy as best as he could at his age, and learn about what ships could do. Despite this, his age got the better of him, and Aengus didn't remember most of it in between playing with other children, school, and chores.

However, there was one thing that stuck with Aengus throughout his life. His father taught him at a young age to be understanding of people and the situations they're in, and how to speak to them when they're feeling down. He also taught Aengus how to read body language as he grew older until Aengus could give advice with the best of them.

As he got older, Aengus's interest in the Navy revived itself when his father took Aengus with him to a spaceport to pick up some shipments of Corellian Syrup, which was a vital ingredient in one of his father's homemade recipies for alcohol. There, Aengus saw the ships coming in and out of the port and watched as they disappeared into the sky. This revived interest in Naval tactics would go on to motivate Aengus to do better in school so as to go to the more prestigious Naval Academies in the Republic.

It was during his Mid twenties that Aengus shined through as a Naval Tactician in the Naval Academy on Alderaan. However, due to issues with the command there, Aengus had himself transfered to the Academy on Coruscant. A year later, at the age of 28, Aengus transferred himself to the Academy on Corellia, where he finished his career as a Student at the Academy and became a Naval Officer aboard a starship known as the Redemption. The Redemption went on to be decommissioned and scrapped for parts three years later, but during those three years, Aengus continued to show his proficiency during War Games as a strategist and tactician, having a winning record of 53-35-10. While not the greatest Record of all time, as the wins, loses, and stalemates are awarded to the ships and their crews rather than individuals, Aengus' superiors made it a note to recognize his role in the simulations and how calmly he kept himself under the stress they provided.

It was when Aengus was 37 that he was put in command of a ship after the Captain went planet side and left him in charge. Apparently, a scuffle broke out on the planet, and the Captain, sadly, perished. Aengus took charge immediately, despite being outranked by a few officers on the bridge, and Captained the ship back to Coruscant, where he resumed his duties as a normal officer until he turned 43.

At the age of 43, Aengus was given the rank of Admiral, and was ordered to Command a small fleet in standard patrols. Various Pirate skirmishes broke out throughout his two years as the Commander of the 3rd Coruscanti Fleet, giving Aengus the chance to show his true colors as a leader. In all, he captured two Pirate Vessels, Destroyed three, and crippled one beyond repair during the span of two years time, with two ships of his own lost to Gravity when the Pirates took out their engines. With the capture of the Pirate leader then, the sectors around Corellia were safer than they had been, and Aengus was in the spotlight again. This time, he was due for another promotion, and the most important one to date. At the age of 44, Aengus Cadeyrn was appointed the Supreme Commander of the Republic, answering only to her Excellency, the Supreme Chancellor, herself.

Added more History. I'm still reworking things, but as of now, this is what I'm sticking with until I get some rest.
