At Galaxy's Edge - Batuu

This will be a two part mission to capture a slaver stronghold to form a Base of operations.

The first part is to Minimise the risk of innocents being harmed in the coming offensive, the rebels will use the abandoned mining tunnel network to gain access into the compound to locate the held slaves and provide them with a means of escape.

Once the slaves and captives are freed, then attention will turn to attack and capture the stronghold from within - prepare for heavy resistance from the enemy should the element of surprise be lost

The Slaver's Stronghold sat atop a rocky outcropping that loomed in the distant skyline of the Blackspire trading post. A haunting reminder to the locals as the main cause of the spate of disappearances of locals and newly arrived traveller alike, if the local gossip was to be believed. The band of slavers appeared only a few years ago, setting up camp in the rocky outskirts of the settlement and gradually grew in size and presence, fuelled by the profits made off of selling those they snatched like livestock. From a outside perspective it looked like the stronghold was impregnable, but with enough digging around the history of the local area, came the revelation that where the stronghold stood once was a small abandoned mining outpost.

Standing at the base of a rocky outcropping and only a handful of meters away from a boarded up mining shaft entrance, stood two females, a fiery haired slight framed one, a slightly taller and white haired one as well as hovering metallic spherical companion. Looking upwards to the structures of the outer walls of the stronghold, it was easy to see that there was no simple way of gaining entrance into the compound beyond a sudden and rapid areal attack and assault. Whilst it would be the quickest and most effective way of driving out the slaver's presence from the planet, it would not likely win the Galactic Alliance any popularity points. There was too great a risk that the slaves, loved ones of the local settlers would get caught up in the cross fire and killed, an outcome that had to be avoided as best as possible.

Standing with the driving winds whipping at the white hooded cloak of her attire that hung from her shoulders, the Fiery haired Jedi Knight narrowed her eyes, as she reached out with one hand pointed towards the forgotten hording. Her fingers slowly closing into a ball, before her arm suddenly swung out to the side. The ageing barricade being torn away from its mountings and being scattered onto the ground, revealing an ominous looking dark passage that would hopefully allow the two Jedi to enter the stronghold undetected.

Stepping closer towards the newly opened mine entrance, the two Jedi were greeted with an musky stale warm air washing over them. The mission was to clear a way for the slaves to escape, free them from the cages in which they were imprisoned. And once they were safely out of the stronghold, make it clear to the Slavers that they would no longer be tolerated on this planet. Should everything go well? The Galactic Alliance will have gained a dominion that would rally with their cause as well as a newly vacated stronghold to establish a base of operations away from the prying eyes of the Empire's influence.

Stepping forward into the entrance of the mine, the Fiery haired youth cast a look back outside towards the sprawling settlement of Blackspire that stood behind her. Eisa's bright Emerald hued eyes scouring the surroundings before returning her attention back towards the winding tunnel carved into the tunnel that reached into the darkness beyond, before giving her weapons a final check over and turning her attention towards the hovering droid that floated beside her. "Ditto, give us a spot" Eisa spoke out to the droid, who responded back in a series of beeps and whirrs.

Watching as the spotlight mounted within the droid's chasis flared up into life, the Knight focused her attention on the partially illuminated tunnel network that lay before her. The teen's attention moved away from the surveying the path that lay ahead towards the Jedi standing beside her, offering the white haired female a reassuring smile. "Not sure what we'll find here, Terria" Eisa spoke out with a light shrug. "But what ever it is, I'm sure we'll see it through to the end" She added confidently whilst she un-holstered her lightsaber pistol. All the while her Mind opening up into the Force to initially enhance her abilities and senses before reaching out into her surroundings to get an indication of any approaching threats that lay concealed within the Darkness.

As she reached out through the Force, she couldn't help but furrow her brow. There was aa ripple within the currents of the Force, not a strong one, but it was enough to stand out among the various ebbs and eddie's that passed through all living things. There was life near by that was assured given the fact that there was a slaver camp directly above the two Jedi, but the sensation that Eisa was feeling was similar to that she felt from her Padawan, or any one else within the Order. There was another Force user near by, the furrowed look intensified slightly as she cautiously searched out in the Force. It was difficult to tell wether this force user was aligned to the darkness or the light, there was just too much activity above her to get a clear read without fully probing the presence. Something that would alert whomever it was to their presence, an action that could jeopardize the entire venture. For now however, the fiery haired Knight would air on the side of caution.

Something stirred Rohana from her meditative trance; what it was, she couldn't be sure, but it resonated with her, deeply on a most profound level. Never before had she felt such sensation. Though only self taught, the pale lady could already perceive certain things. The Force, for example. She was well aware of its existence; her various travels had enlightened her further as to its nature. Monks described it as a sort of energy, which all possessed and some could influence. Another sect believed that a great entity was behind this cosmic power; only the worthy were gifted with transcendent favours. Truthfully, Rohana wasn't quite sure what to make of it all, but one thing was certain: the Force flowed through her like an unchecked river. And if she concentrated hard enough, she could feel the flow in and around others. This was the makings of a Jedi, or so she had been lead to believe.

Sadly, there were no Jedi; only remnants of an age now long since passed. Sith had forced the Jedi into obscurity, the Empire itself further hunting them to extinction. Few now remembered the old legends, simply regarding the once time peace keepers as little more than myth and mystery. But not Rohana. She believed different; she believed somewhere, deep in the recesses of space, the Jedi fought on. Whispers told of fighters for justice, champions of the Light. Though fearful with doubt, there was growing belief that the Knights of the Jedi Order would again rise to battle the darkness plaguing the known galaxy.

And Rohana wanted to join that fight. She wanted to count herself among the new generation; the Empire had taken so much from her, had committed such atrocious evils. Now was the time to strike back! Rebellions were popping up, people flocking to noble causes in every star system. The winds of change were abound!

But in her haste, Rohana had outplayed herself. In her quest to find the Jedi, she had been mistaken for her; the relic of a lightsaber she carried certainly didn't help. Before she could even rant and rail against it, Rohana was ensnared by slavers. At first, they weren't really sure what to do with her, some opting to collect a bounty whilst others debating selling her to the highest bidder. Neither suited her particularly well. Tatooine would freeze over before she allowed anything of the sort; so, she waited, bidding her time, waiting for the right moment to strike.

She was patient, trusting the force would deliver her and provide some sign as to aid in her escape. That ripple she felt? Was now the time to act?

Slowly, with a degree of caution, Rohana rose from the cold, dank floor of her solitary cell. She paced absently, listening for definitive noise; children were failing, the sick wheezing and coughing. It didn't sound particular chaotic, nothing at all like a prison break.

Willing to test something, the pale lady advanced on the cast iron door. She listened and waited. Listened. And waited. She closed her eyes and tried to picture what she herself had just thought. A drop within the river, a ripple surging out.

Terria liked to think that she wasn't a hateful person, she tried to like or be neutral about everything; people, places, cultures, food. She wasn't a saint though, she was like everyone else and she had her hates and her fears. Slavers drew hatred from the very core of her being, something about the thought of people being treated like meat or something less than human because some kriffbag decided that he could do whatever he wanted to them because he was big and strong and they couldn't fight back just rubbed her the wrong way (to put it mildly). She was glad to take any chance to destroy slavers where they lived, especially if they were holding slaves, and part of her couldn't help but imagine the various different gruesome and painful deaths that she would visit upon them.

Of course, she couldn't because she was a Jedi and they were supposed to be above that, but again, she was only Echani, she had her moments of weakness. It was just satisfying to imagine, but a hand on her shoulder snapped her from her daydreams. She looked to Eisa and smirked a little, clapping quietly as she wrapped the Force around the aging wood and rent it from it's nailed hinges. She came to regret that action soon enough though, with the smell rushing out and smacking them in the nose with all the revolting stench of bantha poodoo.
"Smells like a Tusken Raider after a day in the desert," She muttered, waving the stench off with her free hand. She was quick to follow her Master, drawing her own blaster and squinting her eyes as she tried to adjust to the darkness. "These tunnels probably go all sorts of directions, how will we know what leads where?"

Narrowing her eyes slightly as her Padawan spoke out, questioning how they would know their way through the mines. The slight frown lightening as the Fiery haired Knight shook her head whilst chuckling softly, although her Padawan had started to show growth since being taken under the tutor ledge of the Jedi Knight, there was a few aspects that she was yet to grasp. "The Force" Eisa added as a bright smile crossed her features. "I know i'll sound like a corrupted music chip" she added before taking a deep breath and reaching a hand out to the wall of the mine. "Just allow yourself to reach out and feel your surroundings" the fiery haired Knight continued, before gesturing for her padawan to follow in her example. "The Force flows through everything, both living and the material. If you reach out and free your mind into your surroundings" Eisa continued before reaching her free hand over and resting it upon Terria's shoulder, to share her own connection through the Force with her learner.

With a deep breath, the Fiery haired Knight closed her eyes and focused her minds eye on the Force and into the mass of carved rock that surrounded them. Reaching out she extended her senses through the tips of her fingers and into the cold lifeless rock face they were pressing against. As she pressed deeper into the Force, the swirling visage of the Force gradually came into focus revealing the sight of the network of mining tunnels as the Force flowed through each and every crack and grain of the ancient bodies of stone. "Can you see it Terri?" Eisa questioned as she allowed the channelled vision to flow through her and into her Padawan. "This is the true nature of the Force, It binds and flows through everything everything we do has an effect on the currents of the Force" she continued before slowly teasing away a loose rock away from the wall with her fingers, sending a rippling series of shock waves through the shared Force sight, as if a pebble had been dropped in a still pond.

Easing her hand away from both the rock face and her Padawan, the Fiery haired knight kept her mind's eye attuned to the Force for a little longer before, bringing her self back into her surroundings. Her bright emerald hued eyes blinking a few times as they resumed their purpose of conveying her natural sight. Giving her Padawan a reassuring smile, the Fiery haired Jedi nodded towards the winding darkness that lay ahead of them. "Don't worry too much about it" Eisa commented with a light shrug as she withdrew her weapons, before slowly and cautiously moving forwards into the dark winding tunnels, being sure to keep her footsteps light and even so not to send any echoing sounds of footsteps resonating through the tunnels that would give away their presence.

"You'll get used to it, its a bit of a mind Kriff having your eyes opened to the nature of the Force" She continued, as the cone of light from the Hovering droid bobbed about as it illuminated the immediate path ahead of them. "I Started training as a Padawan some five years ago, before then all I knew was engines and hydrospanners" Eisa added with a light chuckle. Slowly and cautiously the pair advanced along the tunnel, headed towards the first inner cave chamber. The initial advance of the two rebels seemed to go without incident, there were a few low lying boulders and a few potholes but for the most part they were easy to avoid. What wasn't easy to avoid however, was a small six man patrol that was approaching from the opposing tunnel.

As soon as the patrol entered into the chamber, the room instantly erupted into a series of crimson flashes as blaster rounds were fired towards the two intruders and the hovering droid. It seemed that despite their best efforts to keep silent, it was ironically the light on the droid that gave the infiltrators away. The Patrol had caught sight of the approaching light and had prepared themselves, opening fire as soon as their eyes confirmed they weren't another patrol. As soon as the first blaster round was fired, two arcs of burning plasma erupted from the hilts of the Knight's weapons, filling the immediate area with a light blue and green glow. Despite the swift activation of the lightsabers to deflect the incoming shots, the fired rounds initially focused on the hovering droid, sending it crashing down onto the ground with a thud and a series of dull whining chirps.

Inwardly grimacing at the possible loss of her robotic companion, the Fiery haired Knight Focused her concentration on the Force, slowly stepping forwards, to form a shield between the slaver patrol and her companions. Knowing that her stricken droid and her Padawan wouldn't be able to deflect the incoming rounds, as her blades continued to twirl around her body intercepting the incoming blaster rounds the Jedi Knight concentrated the Force within the tips of her fingers, building up the energy within until it reached critical mass. Spinning on her heel, the Fiery haired Knight dropped her lightsaber pistol to the ground mid turn, before stretching her freed up hand outwards and releasing the built up energies in a powerful pressure wave of energy. The brightly dyed locks of hair rippling at the sudden rush of air that flowed over her in the release of her Force blast.

The swirling wall of energy ripped towards the slavers seemed to hang for a moment, before crashing into them hard. Sending each and everyone of them crashing backwards, barrelling hard into the rock face behind them before slumping onto the ground stunned. A long pained sigh escaped Eisa's lips as she deactivated her lightsaber and summoned her discarded one to her hand, her bright emerald hued eyes falling onto her left forearm bracer, narrowing slightly as she regarded the scorch mark from the impacted blaster round on her duraplast lined armour piece. "Kriff not again!" The Knight groaned, as she turned her attention towards her two companions. "Terri, can you disarm and restrain them please? Cant have them waking up and sneaking up on us" Eisa spoke as she knelt down beside her stricken droid, a saddened look crossing her features as she regarded the sorry state her mechanical friend was in. Despite the smouldering components on it's outer shell, where the repulsor devices had burnt out. There was still life in the little droid, who was just chirping and whining as it's optical receptor focused on the sight of it's owner.

"Yes I know Ditto, but unlike you I can't see in the dark" Eisa responded to her droid, before using her fingers to pry the outer shell of her droid appart with some assistance of the Force to overcome the points where the case had fused by the burning plaster bolts. With a light crack the shell opened like an egg, revealing a set of spindly appendages that started to unfurl and flail in mid air before the Fiery haired Knight righted the droid and set it on it's legs. "Ditto, Go back to the ship, can't risk you getting damaged any more" The Knight instructed, before frowning at the binary backchat. Shaking her head lightly the youth nudged her droid with the tip of her foot. "We'll be fine, you won't be if you take another shot" Eisa spoke before giving the droid a firmer nudge, getting the hint the droid scuttled off, leaving the chamber with a series of chirps.

For weeks the young jedi had been trying to move past the mission he did that ultimately ended in a failure. As well as trying to figure out where the mission went wrong. The Sith had showed up to a location he did not think they will and talked the miners he and his partner had spent a couple days getting to know and talk them into turning their talks of rebellion into something of action. But the arrival of the sith, and their words being too convincing for the miners to ignore. The young Padawan watched the days of trying turn to a big failure. A really big one where he was forced to leave, due to the sith winning over the miners there was no telling if they would have turned to fight the jedi along side the two sith. So there as really no choice but to flee.

For some reason he had felt that he should come here to Batuu. Standing next to his fighter at the port, the teenager stood there wondering why he came here. He had opened himself to the force but couldn't feel anything. Well he did feel ripples from someone but couldn't pinpoint who it is. As Calath stood there the young man noticed Eisa's droid Ditto scuttling past him in a bit of a hurry. Stumped and figuring the direction the droid came from his the source of the ripples he is feeling, the young man decided that is the way that he is going to go. The surroundings were dark but with him being opened to the force Calath was vaguely able to see his surroundings as he followed the ripples deeper and deeper. As he got closer to the source of the ripples he is feeling the young man noticed that it was leading him to another jedi.. wait make that three other jedi.

The teenager cautiously approached the three strangers. Due to his experiences on Jedha the young man has a bit of a trust issue when it comes to people he does not know. And having never met the people in this group Calath was a bit unsure. Besides he could be mistaking them for Sith. Well either way the group should be able to see, hear or feel him approaching. In his left hand he held his lightsaber, ready to use it if need be.

Narrowing her gaze, as the sound of footsteps started to echo down the cave tunnel from behind them, the Jedi Knight took a deep breath and allowed the Force to fully flow through her, her presence radiating with the raw power that was honed though her years of building her connection to the Force. "kriff someone's coming" Eisa muttered as she, brought her hilt up to bare before igniting her lightsaber, filling the tunnel with a bright cyan glow. Turning round to face the incoming unknown presence, the Jedi Knight held her lightsaber prone, primed to counter any possible opening attack that may present itself.

As the young teen male emerged from the darkness, and into the blue light that radiated off of the ignited weapon. Eisas eyes narrowed as she focused on the lightsaber hilt in his hand, her grip subconsciously tightening in reaction to seeing the new comer, it was clear he was a force sensitive. Taking a deep breath the Jedi Knight reached out and proper the young man with the Force, searching for the sign whether he was a servant of the dark or the light. The answer came by the light of the ignited weapon disengaging, plunging the cavern Into darkness once again, leaving the Jedi to use her force sight to make out the positions of those around her. "Your presence is unexpected Padawan" Eisa commented, as she holstered her weapons back into place, before her brow furrowed a little. She had to wonder just how much word had got out within the Galactic Alliance about Eisas activities on Batuu, first Tycho one of the Rebellion's generals shows up, and now an errant padawan appears out of the blue. Eisa, making a serious mental note to double check her own encryption routines.

Sighing as she rubbed her temple, the Knight shook her head and dismissed her thoughts, there was always a reason, often in nearly every case it was the will of the Force. "but it is a welcome one" the Jedi Knight added after a brief moment to re center herself. "in fact you can assist with freeing the slaves of this wretched camp, before we drive the slavers off this world for good" Eisa added, explaining the Jedis purpose on the planet. "Terria can watch over these guards, to make sure they do not harm the slaves as they escape" she continued before guesturing for the new padawan to follow, leaving guarding the bound and unconscious guards in her own padawans capable hands.

Once again resuming her path through the tunnel network, Eisa used the guiding hands of the Force to direct her to where the slaves where, a lingering presence of dispair and grief building up around and above them, but for some unknown reason there was a coldness, not a dark coldness but a coldness radiating from what felt like another padawan. Making the Knight wonder, just what it was about this planet that attracted so many Force sensitives?!

As the pair came to end of the tunnel, Eisa directed her attention to a durasteel panel that had been fused into the rockface, forming a barrier between them and the slaves. Holding her hand against the panel the Jedi Knight reached out through the Force and strected her thoughts into the surroundings looking to assertain just where it was that they are within the slavers compound. They were where they needed to be, she could sense countless lifesigns beyond the panel, all closely packed and confined within tight spaces, though she was unsure if they were cells or cages.

Still one way to find out, focusing her mind, Eisa manipulated the Force as it flowed through her hand and into the metal sheeting, using the telekentic Energies to bend and warp the metal away from the rockface. The noise of creaking metal causing a stir and panic among the unsuspecting slaves, narrowing her eyes the Jedi increased the intensity of the Force energies flowing into the metal, crumpling it quickly away so she could try and settle the slaves, least they give the game away.

As soon as the opening was big enough, the Fiery haired Knight emerged from the dark tunnel beyond and into the dimly lit ROOM. "Shhhh we're here to free you" Eisa spoke out in a hushed tone, hoping to try and settle the started slaves enough to not attact any unwanted attention from the slavers. But the efforts seemed to be for nought, the joys of being so tightly packed in a crowded space for so long was enough to escalate a mass hysteria, the panic welps had been enough to draw the attention of the guard, as the sound of a single set of footsteps could be heard approaching beyond the door ahead. "Ah Kriff!" Eisa cursed under her breath, hoping deep down that the element of supprise wouldn't be blown. Quickly she pulled herself through the opening, and kept a low movement as she shifted herself behind a bench ladened with slave collars for cover, hoping the padawan would do likewise. Though she was also acutely aware of the fact that another Force user was present within this room.

Calath placed his saber handle back where he usually kept the item hidden when not in use. This happened at the same time as Eisa holstered her own weapons. Of course now that the teenager knows that Eisa is an ally and not a Sith the young man relaxed a bit. Well not entirely due to their location but was relaxed a bit knowing he didn't accidentally come across someone who is an enemy. The young man looked to the Jedi Knight, "I apologize. I just saw a damaged droid coming from this direction and thought I should investigate." Calath explained. He listened to the woman as she explained what she was doing here. Freeing slaves? Great that will make up for his failure on another planet that was somewhat to do the same thing as what the Knight is trying to do here. The teenager nodded stiffly, "I will assist you with freeing the slaves to the best of my ability." He will tell the other jedi.

Proceeding to follow the young woman Calath found himself getting is lightsaber back into his hand thinking that he may just need it whether it is to cut through a door or a couple of guards who are among those preventing the slaves from making a break for freedom. The teenager followed Eisa until the pair came across a barrier, a durasteel panel. The young man kept guard, watching their surroundings as the Knight tried to get what prevented the two of them from getting to the slaves. Watching and listening very closely for anyone who may rush towards their position as Eisa did her work. But the woman was able to create an opening big enough for the two of them to slip through with some ease.

As soon as Eisa got through, Calath followed, watching the approaching guard closely. The young man held his breath as the single guard got closer and closer as he came to investigate the commotion going on. Gripping his lightsaber tightly, without the blade activated, the young man moved to get behind some cover. Calath watched the guard closely waiting for the man to get close enough for the teenager to do something about him. As it was most likely that the guard will stick around and will look at the hole that was created in the durasteel. As the young man predicted the guard started to approach what the two jedi got through to the slaves in. As the guard's focus remained on the entry point, Calath cautiously got out of his source of cover, carefully approaching the distracted guard. Using the hilt of his blade as a club, Calath whacked the back of the man's skull hard enough to render him unconscious. Though the man did manage to get a soft yell, muffled as the Padawan quickly covered the guard's mouth before any more noise could be made. But then with the racket the slaves were making it was most likely that any other guards may not have picked up on the pained cries of their comrade as Calath knocked him out. Carefully the young man quickly moved the unconscious guard into an empty crate nearby to keep the fallen guard hidden for as long as possible to give the two rebels a window to do some more damage before it is noticed that the one guard has failed to report in to his superiors. Hopefully the window is a long one or the two jedi will have to work quickly.

Looking to Eisa the young man nodded as he quickly got behind another source of cover to keep himself hidden incase any other guards came to come to the location to see what all the excitement among the slaves is all about.

As soon as the guard was down, the fiery haired knight broke from her cover turning her attention towards the bench that she had been ducked down behind, her emerald hued eyes scouring over the assortment of slave collars, before focusing on a control panel mounted on the wall just to the side. Taking a quick look over her shoulder, the Knight gave the Padawan a silent gesture for him to watch her back before turning her attention solely onto the console screen. Her fingers swiftly tapping through the various menus being shown, eyes scanning back and forth as she read out the words displayed in galactic basic.

Navigating her way through the security systems controls, Eisa manipulated her way through the options until she found the controls for the slave collars. Without hesitation the Jedi pressed the deactivation protocol for the collars, before navigating through the menus towards the locking controls of the holding cages. Conscious of the short amount of time available to them, Eisa made little effort to be careful so to not raise alarm, after all the increased commotion that the slaves were making was doing enough to raise the attentions of any nearby guards.

A loud clattering filled the room, as all the cell locking mechanisms released and the cage doors rolled back slightly, only to be followed by a loud klaxon ringing out, triggered by the Jedi's hasty attempt to release the cells without caution. Wasting little time, the Fiery haired Jedi turned her attention to the aperture in the durasteel panel that they had suck out of, and projected a burst of force energy towards it. The telekinetic blast tearing a hole through the metal, widening the aperture for the slaves to make their escape through. "Go All of you, get out of here!" Eisa shouted as she turned her attention towards the slaves, who wasted no time to rush past her in their bid for freedom.

With the combined chaos of the klaxons ringing out and the rabble of slaves making a desperate break for their freedom, the Fiery haired Jedi moved her way to the front of the room, her hands ensuring that they were wrapped around her blaster and formal lightsaber hilt. It was inevitable that the pandemonium would attract the guards, or even the entire base in force to quell the chaos that was breaking out. Closing her eyes, the Jedi reached out with the Force, searching her surroundings and the countless movements of those around her. Her eyes slowly opening as she turned her attention towards the Padawan. "Ready yourself Padawan" Eisa spoke out, as she continued to make her way towards the entrance of the compound's holding chamber.

In the distance from the outer compound she could sense the slavers and guards approaching en mass, twenty of them were approaching, and fast. Taking a final checking glance over her blaster, the fiery haired Jedi double checked the available charge on her blaster, before priming it and disengaging the safety. The Force was now fully flowing through the Fiery haired Jedi, filling her aura with a powerful and focused presence, as she engaged her cyan hued lightsaber with a snap hiss, before coming to a standstill infront of the doorway. Separating the guards from the escaping slaves behind her.
