Being deep underground may be terrifying for some people. But for those that call Sevarcos home living underground is a way of life. The environment at the surface is just too harsh for life to exist. Between the heat and the winds blowing spice loaded dust around it makes it so harsh that those at the surface must wear something to aid with breathing. Even here at the foot of the mountains in the northern hemisphere. But underground it's different as the atmosphere is breathable. Not to mention much cooler than the temperature at the surface. Right now with it being late at night the temperature in the mine is chilly enough for people to almost see their own breath.

The specific mine they are in called "Grand Onyx Depths" by the miners is the main and mkst promising mining location belonging to the mining company that has continuously produced vast amounts of spice for many years and has yet to be considered depleted. It is because of the vast amount of spice being pulled from the mine that it has been targeted by a ambitious group of smugglers and pirates that have been regularly stealing precious spice pulled up from deep within the mine. To the point the company wants something done about it.

The section the Sith and two mercenaries are in is the oldest part of the mine. All the rocks have been stripped bare of their precious veins or pockets of spice. That doesn't mean that this section of the massive mine hasn't lost it's importance though. Because this particular mine containing a vast amount of spice during the time it was mined this part of the mine is so open that a control tower with connected walkways secured to the cave walls is currently in the process of being built. When complete it will be a vital choke point for guards to be on the look out of precious goods being stolen and put a stop to it before the thieves make their escape. The other reason for the tower to be built right here is because this is the only way in and out of this particular mine.

The tower will serve as an excellent ambush spot since the height will allow one or both of the two mercenaries to put their marksmenship to the test. With the rocks here being stronger than the rocks deeper in the mine it is safer for blasters to be used as long as they take the gang out right here. If the pirates and smugglers go down either of the six connected mineshafts they will have to resolve to hand to hand combat since blaster fire will risk causing the weaker rocks in the mineshafts to collapse. Trapping or burying themselves and any miners still at work this late at night.

Myec doesn't fancy getting buried deep in a mineshaft. No thanks.

Observing what he could say is a manmade cavern from the platform of the incomplete tower the Marauder was carefully going through his head on how they could possibly prevent the gang from escaping into the mineshafts. They could create makeshift barriers to slow them down. Blocking the shafts wouldn't be advised since blocking them will alert the gang that they are walking into an ambush. There is some loose rubble scattered here and there that could possibly be put to use but they may not be very affective.

Well it won't hurt to ask the two people with him since they have kindly answered his message asking for help. It won't for him to hear their ideas, "How would you two stop them from escaping into the mineshafts?" He didn't think that he'd have to remind the two mercenaries why they can't let their targets escape into the shafts and what the risks are if they do. Myec calmly glanced at the two of them for a moment before looking back to their surrounding to do some more planning of his own. He had never thought he'd be going into a combat situation underground so never thought of tactics for such situations.

After Sullust, Wiley thought he would have been done with tunnels for a bit. They were not much different from being in a ship all day and night. Aside from Kessel there were fewer planets where spice mines were profitable these days. Most of them were controlled by independent parties or the Five Syndicates.

Clad in his black robes and attire, the Sith twirled an unignited lightsaber hilt out of boredom. Blasters were a no-go in this situation so the Sith had opted to not even draw it. Wiley's rifle he had decided to leave and not worry about carrying around the extra weight. The stun setting was set on his sidearm just on the odd chance he needed to fire but did not want to chunks of stone out of the rocky tunnels.

There was plenty of space for movement as far as Wiley could see. The experienced pilot was also an expert force weilder and pirate. Ambushing targets and raiding them for goods was what he used to do. Now he was a Sith and getting a better pay check and more luxuries than before.

"Kill them before they reach them?" He replied like it was an obvious answer. It would likely require each of the trio to target individual assailants since grenades were out of the question as well as other area-of-effect weapons. Wiley enjoyed the thrill of hunting down his prey. "What's the worst that happens if they make it past us?" His apathetic tone making it clear he was tired of waiting. "They still need to come back this way." He let the handle rise from his palm with the force and begin to circle his wrist. The cylinder rotated steadily in a winding gyroscopic motion that had Wiley's focus more than anything in that moment. Releasing the hold he had on the hilt, it dropped into his palm once again in reverse grip and returned to being spun by his dexterous fingers. "Also...what's to stop them from usin' blasters n' stuff"

"I got answers to both your questions." Kyp said, patting his trusty rifle at his side. He was eager to get to shooting. While Force Sensitives were hardly his favorite kinds of people, particularly after a Jedi had broken his leg in a mineshaft similar to this one, Kyp was more than willing to take these two's money.

All told, it looked like a fairly simple operation. Pirates and smugglers were a plague to just about everyone, including their own kind. This was hardly the first time that the Lepi Mandalorian had taken a job to hunt either group and he was sure it wouldn't be his last either. That tower looked to be a good vantage point to rain some hell down upon these scumbags but these blasted Sith wanted to talk.

"Way I see it, you're paying me to shoot not to talk. But it's your credits so unless you have any objections, I'm going up there and shooting them. If any of them make it to the tunnels, I'll deal with them." Kyp said, gesturing to his shockboxing gloves. While the Lepi didn't consider hand-to-hand combat his strongest skillset, he did enjoy the brutality and closeness that fistfights provided. For one who craved violence as much as he did, it gave a different thrill entirely than that of sniping.

To Myec it appeared that neither of these two had studied the map thar showed how expensive the mine is. How the mine is literally a maze that goes on for miles that continues to grow everyday as miners follow precious resources. Studying the two of them for a second he decided it just wasn't worth his or their time to bicker. There is a job to do and he can sense the gang of pirates and smugglers coming.

"The reason I picked this spot to ambush them is because the rock here is stronger than the rock in the shafts. So it will be safe for blasters here. That is why these platforms and tower is being constructed here and not elsewhere in the mine." He will simply tell them, "There are people in the shafts. We don't want this to turn into a hostage situation.. If this goes south we will be saying good bye to the joint ownership of the mines.[/color]" He will mention.

He then turned his attention to the mercenary who seemed to Myec to be jumping to conclusions right from the start, "You are incorrectly jumping to the wrong conclusion. You are infact permitted to tell mention your thoughts as well as shoot.[/colof]" Having enough of talking he said, "Enough talking. They are coming." Myec said as he jumped down from the platform.

Walking over to a massive mining machine of some sort thst was between two mineshafts he hid himself from view. With his lightsaber hilt in his left hand he patiently waited for the gang to walk themselves into the ambush that has been now set.

The Mandalorian was confident in his own capabilities. That much was obvious. But he wasn't sure if there would ever be a warrior clad in armor like that who wouldn't feel pretty tough. The warrior culture was said to all be trained in combat for their entire lives. Part of that made the Marauder, no...Champion of the Sith Order, want to see what he could do. But a demonstration was ahead so there was no need for him to poke the iron clad bunny-bear with a stick.

Wiley was just the type of guy who usually went after something when he wanted it. Waiting around for someone to come to him was boring. The dark sider wanted to leap off the tower and down to where the smugglers would come in but Myec announced their approach.

Grinning from ear to ear, the Sith took a deep breath and embraced the thrill of the coming kill. The twirling hilt stopped in his black gloved hand. Telekinetically moving the weapon back to his belt, the Ossein replaced it with his combat fusion cutter. wrapped in dark leather tightened while the Champion's other arm reached out in a dastardly effort to make the surrounding area dark. The shadows of the tunnels stretched and darkened unaturally. The ceiling and upper levels became almost pitch black from Wiley's efforts. With this they would absolutely take the thieving scum by surprise. The sense of dread already building as the last of the group exited the tunnel and entered the main chamber where the trio lay in wait.

Leaping off of the second level Wiley would do a forward flip that nobody could have seen unless they were using echo-location or had infrared vision. His feet came down on the back shoulder blades of one pirate causing him to slam face first into the ground. Wiley rolled forward, coming up to a kneeling position fusion cutter in hand but now imbedded in-between the ribs of another target. The Sith turned, now amid the smugglers forcing them to turn towards one another and begin to panic at his close proximity. Pulling the weaponized tool free and using the movement to draw it across the side of another nearby smuggler's neck. He hoped his companions were going to have as much fun as he was.

Wiley was right - Kyp was having fun.

After the Sith Champion's maneuver that led to a pirate getting smashed into the ground, Kyp hoisted his rifle from his elevated position and began blasting, carefully leading his targets before nailing them with perfectly timed headshots that had come from years of disciplined practice.

The Gran pirate with the laser rifle? Headshot.

The Dug holding the two vibroknives? Headshot?

The Bith smuggler? Well, Bit had even bigger heads than most organics so a headshot was practically guaranteed.

All told, Kyp racked up five kills before one of the pirates managed to get it in his head that the Lepi Mando needed to be dealt with on the tower. Wielding a light repeater, the Dowutin presented a large target but Kyp couldn't take advantage of as the full auto barrage meant he had to duck behind one of the support poles to avoid getting knocked off or killed. Before he got there in time, his beskar chestplate absorbed a stray shot - the impact of which almost sent him over the side.

Shadows stretched and seemed to reach out and grasp at any source of light. The tunnel system was darkened and thrown into chaos as the Marauder became a whirling dervish of death and bloodshed. Blaster bolts from the Mandalorian rained down on anyone caught out in the open.

A stream of light repeater fire almost seemed to beam out from the weapon as it racked towards Kyp. The Marauder dashed to the pirate weilding the javelin was blindsided by a blast of sith lightening. Red electricity arched from Wiley's fingertips and sent the pirate flying without its weapon. Ripples of sparks and smoke would continue to curl from the body.

The rest of the smugglers would get the same treatment. Loosening his grip on his handheld weapons and splaying his fingers, Wiley let the shadows retreat only for waves of blood colored lightening rocked through the body of half a dozen smuggles and pirates.
