Coruscant/Underworld

If one needed dirt on anything, less-than-legal items or just anything shady in general, Coruscant's underworld was the perfect place. On the top levels it was still somewhat manageable, but the lower one went the worse it got. And the deeper one went, the bigger the chances of getting shot for no reason whatsoever got. There was a reason the officers down here wore gear that hid all their features. Racism and prejudice mixed with poverty, drugs and alcohol didn't bode good news for anyone.

Mid walked through a trashy street with closed eyes. He didn't trust his eyes in this place. They would never see if an ambush were to take place. With his eyes closed and his force sight wide open he could see all around them, see all the scum and filth this place held. He almost regretted the decision to use the power or even coming down here in the first place.

This was probably the first and only time Mid wasn't clad in full Sith armour for a mission. Instead he donned a set of Rogue Armour to not only hide his Pureblood features down here, but to also blend in better. He also made sure to stress how important a non-Sith look was down here. And if a stubborn and traditional Pureblood like him refused to stand out, it goes to show just how dangerous it was for the wrong people down here. His other gear was still with him. His pistols were on his belt under his coat, his lightsabers were hidden in his sleeves, and his Lanvarok was still mounted on his right arm. And if push comes to shove his Sith dagger was behind his back on his belt, hidden from the world.

"We're here to get the info for the Guild and get out. Their contact is supposed to be reliable, I hope they were telling the truth. People down here don't hold much love of anyone from the surface. As it is we're being watched already." he said to his companion, his voice garbled and processed with the force like a droid's to further hide his identity behind his armour and helmet.

Coruscant, Coruscant, Coruscant. The jewel of the empire but really it was a jewel in the surface appearance only. Nothing made it anymore special than any other planet in space, only the egos of it's inhabitants thought so. Amur truthfully hated Coruscant while it may of given birth to her it also had the scum responsible for her fiery rebirth. Everyone really only cared for themselves, that was the only valuable lesson Coruscant taught her. She wanted to never set foot here again but circumstances decided against that.

The Bounty Hunter's Guild was always a jolly group to have in ones pocket. They wanted someone to head an exchange of info from their contact so her she was. Their informant had specified they met in a night club whose name Amur only cared enough for her to find it. The informant also specified they take a corner booth in the northwestern corner of the building, oddly precise but hey they were going to be disguised, still something still felt odd about it.

Her partner had made a point to not to look like a sith, which was wise given that the underworld was a place prone to random acts of violence especially against anyone who vaguely looked like an authority figure. Luckily there wasn't too much actual armor to her Sith outfit so it was easy to come up with a suitable alternative. Instead of her robes she was wearing her gray compression clothing which she wore as a base layer already. Then over that was a black synthleather jacket that went all the way down to her hips. The long sleeves of the jacket hiding the fact that her gloves had phrik armor plating and also the jacket doubled as somewhere to hide both her light saber and pistol under. She wore black cargo pants over her legs to help sell the tough biker chick look. Add a pair a pair of combat boots and a armored helmet from a Hippeus Protective kit and she had all the protection normally afforded to her but without the glowing 'I'm clearly a Sith' arrow over her head. She was now with her partner for this mission as they stood staring at the entrance. He reminded her of the obvious get in, get out.

"Trust is fickle and I don't like that he wants us in a corner, keep your eyes on a swivel once we're in." She said coolly to Mid before walking towards the club.

Mid gave Amur a sidelong glance then lokked back to the club in front of them. "Don't have to tell me twice." he quipped before following behind the girl. He could still feel the eyes on them, making him more on edge than normal in a place like this.

Inside the club Mid had to get acquainted with his surroundings. The music hit him like a wall, the smell of alcohol and smoke from various origins hung thick in the air, and when he switched back to his eyes for vision he had to blink a bit to get used to the strobe lights. "Now I remember why I try to actively avoid these places all the time." he said over the commlink channel between him and the Acolyte. He wasn't in the mood for a shouting match simply to coordinate.

After a few seconds of looking around he spotted their contact and gave Amur a tap on the shoulder to get her to follow. He strolled over to the booth where the contact told them to meet.

Their contact was a rather scrawny Nautolan dressed in simple loose fitting clothing with a hoodie halfway on his head, and what looked to be a death stick between his fingers...of course. Beside him sat a young Togruta with a very skimpy outfit...Mid doubted that she was even allowed to be in here. "You Stim?" Mid asked the guy as he handed the girl the death stick. The Nautolan eyed him and Amur for a second before speaking up. "Maybe...who's askin'?" he said in a voice as shady as his looks. "We're asking. Our mutual friends said you have something for us." Mid fired right back and slid casually into the booth.

Stim's demeanour shifted and Mid could sense a sudden twinge of anxiety spring from nowhere. "Yeah I got something. Tell your girl to grab a seat." he said, his eyes locking onto Amur.

Ah decadence why did it have to be so overstimulating? A den of sin and vice greeted Amur as she walked in. She couldn't help but scan her eyes around to search for threats unfortunately the club was too populated to be able to discern any finer detail. Just a mass of people some who may have ulterior motives others. She didn't mind the comments of Mid though the tension was evident. He was a serious no nonsense type of person rigid with the way things ought to be done. Admirable most of the time though this may have been out of his territory. The comment about avoiding these types of places all but confirmed that.

"It is what it is, if it's too much then meditate on purifying this hive." Amur quipped to Mid hoping that they could just get this place out of there eyes ASAP. She wasn't in the mood for a party or to babysit a grouchy Sith that thought this beneath him. They moved on to the booth to be greeted by their "contact" a yabo of a nautolan who seemed like he should be mugging some random vagrant inside having valuable information. The death stick and the presence of his probably under-aged groupie sent a spike of anger in Amur. Maybe he fed her some garbage about how he cared for her and wanted to show her a good time and what the world truly was like. Amur figured though that she was too young to know better and that he was just using her as a plaything nothing more if she was found dead on the street he likely wouldn't care.

The fact that nautolan then had the nerve ask Mid to order Amur around instead of just asking Amur herself confirmed that he was a pig in the eyes of Amur. Amur now held a steely stare straight back at Stim and her face contorted into a scowl that had been hidden by her helmet. "If you have something to say to me, then say it to me." Amur growled through the helmet. She then scanned the seat to see any signs of fool play but couldn't detect anything nefarious. She then sat down continuing to look at Stim, he was unnerved clearly. Which was satisfactory for now, she was going to keep a eye on Stim if he tried anything she would make sure that he wouldn't get away. Still there was one variable that needed to be dealt with.

"Madame I think its best for you to go home right now. You're much better than this place and your choice of company especially given that we need to do some business with him. Besides the last thing a young beautiful girl like you needs is to get roped into some serious trouble. Trust me, take it from someone who already made this mistake." She told the Togruta in a tone that was cordial and near respectful, much lighter than the one she used for Stim and she refered directly to her completely ignoring Stim's presence.

Amur's comment certainly brought a smile to the Pureblood's face. He already had a stellar resume of either terrorising corrupt politicians or simply killing them, a secret guilty pleasure for the priest who hated politics, so the thought of clearing out a putrid club like this seemed like a delightful idea at the moment.

Amur wasted no time in giving the Nautolan a piece of her mind. Stim eyed her but didn't say anything in return. Clearly he wasn't a fan of being talked to like that. Mid turned his attention back to Stim and the girl, not liking the idea of someone listening into their business. Especially someone as vulnerable as her. Fortunately Amur was ahead of him and politely asked the girl to leave. Mid looked at the girl, hoping she would take Amur's advice and leave. Naturally she didn't, but Mid could sense a trace of uncertainty from the girl showing him she could be reasoned with...but he wasn't in the mood to drag this out. "Girl, you don't want to be here." he said and folded his arms, making a slight waving motion with his fingers as he folded them. "I don't want to be here..." she repeated, looking at Mid. "Go home, get your life in order." he said and repeated the sublte waving motion.

The girl looked at Stim with a regretful face. "I'm going home. I need to get my life in order." she said and climbed over him to get out of the booth, slapping his hand away as he tried to take hold of her. Stim, understandably angry, turned back to the two Sith. "Who the hell do you think you are?" he growled, slowly rising from his seat and trying to act tough. He was quickly shut up by Mid who unclipped a lightsaber and slammed it down onto the table with the emitter facing his groin. "Someone you don't want to cross. Now, enough circle-jerking and give us the info." Mid said flatly and the man sat back down, his rage replaced by fear.

He expected someone...but not Sith. He cleared his throat and leaned forward. "Listen...about that...this info isn't supposed to go through a middle man. They said I'd be meeting Guild reps, not...you." he said with a calm voice that was slowly breaking down. Mid eyed the man through his visor, his hand gripping the lightsaber tighter. Sitm's eyes shot to the side for a split second and he held his hands under the table. Something was feeling off, more now than a few seconds ago.

It's always was disappointing to give the youth a chance to learn and for them to not take it. Amur was once a foolish young girl with stars in her eyes blindly her from the predators that were around, maybe this girl would need to learn the hard way like she did. Still the mind trick Mid did was enough. Amur while familiar with mind tricks wasn't fond of using them, they seemed more like a crutch, a cheat for those who couldn't find their own ways of incepting ideas, still that could be pondered later. The girl was out of the equation they could finally get the info.

Yet Stim was still being reluctant even when his manhood was being threatened it was off. Why would he assume they were middle men anyone can hunt a bounty, besides some Sith practically hunt people for sport anyways. Something was wrong. That moment a predatory instinct started to kick in for Amur, the one that said she was in a trap about to spring. When Stim hands went under the table and his eyes darted away she followed where they were pointing. They were being watched as she then noticed that some people were spying on the supposedly discrete booth some seemed to have their hands in their coats or pockets and others seemed to have... cases. Kark. Was that a signal? A thought sprang out to her.

At this point survival kicked in. "Duck!" Amur cried out as she slid underneath the table and pushed it on it's side to serve as cover. She grabbed mid and pulled him down with one hand and Stim with the other. Suddenly a distinct sound could be heard over the music, blasters being readied and bolts started to strike all around the booth. This went from from zero to FUBAR fast. A rage filled Amur as the adrenaline started to kick in. She grab Stim by the collar pulled him so close that his face was almost touching amur's helmet. "You sold us out you karking bastard!"

She then slammed Stim into the ground with an application of force strength that was unnecessary but satisfying. She drew her pistol pulling back the slide to chamber a round, and shut her eyes so she could draw upon the force to see what was going on in the chaos.

Being stronger in the force than his companion, Mid could feel something was off. He could tell Amur was starting to notice as well. The eyes on them were growing by the second, and something was about to happen any moment.

Then it came. Mid reacted alongside Amur and helped to push the table over. She dragged Stim down with them as they hid from a volley of blaster fire. "Things just got a little more interesting." Mid commented coldly as he clipped his lightsaber to his belt. Amur grabbed hold of Stim and screamed at the Nautolan who seemed ready to faint. She shoved him to the ground, but he didn't seem to submit just yet.

He drew a vibroknife and thrusted at Amur...but was abruptly stopped by Mid catching his wrist and squeezing until he dropped the blade. "Big mistake." Mid said flatly and put his right fist up to his throat. With a squeeze of his thumb his Lanvarok fired and the disc sliced the Nautolan's head off. Turning back to Amur he sighed. "Let's get out of here." he said and drew a pistol and a lightsaber. He closed his eyes to 'see' where everyone was. The table was starting to crumble under the volley of shots, making their time a lot shorter to think of a plan. "I see 10 shooters. Three on the left, four on the right and another three along the middle." he explained.

His blaster hissed and clicked as it primed and he nodded to the right to signal his direction. He ignited his crimson crossguard lightsaber, the deep hum caused a second's silence to fall upon the battlefield. Mid vaulted over the table and hurled his lightsaber at one shooter to impale him into the wall behind him. He loosed two bolts into a second shooter and summoned his lightsaber back to deflect a couple bolts heading for him before cutting the third shooter's arm off, pressing a pistol to his head and pulling the trigger to drop him to the floor. Things kicked into high gear really quickly.

Amur attuned herself with the force at the perfect moment to see a blade heading straight for her head. Her eyes shot open and widened and she briefly froze in fear, had Mid not grab the Nautolan's arm the knife would of likely had made purchase. Time slowed down for the Sith as the realization that she could of died in that moment alone, to someone she had figured wouldn't have the gall to try such a move. A critical eye now was over her as she started to be enraged at how foolishly arrogant that was, and her earlier outburst. She made the one mistake that her Sith instructors would constantly deride every trainee for, being convinced you were sierra hotel. How could she be so stupid, she was better than that.

The calm dismissive words of Mid to leave suddenly snapped her back to reality along with the increasing amount of heat coming from the table as it took repeated blaster bolts. She shut her eyes and started to reach out to the force, a new focus taking over her. Indeed just as Mid said there was 10 shooters at the present moment. When she saw Mid nod to the right she immediately knew what Mid was planning. Amur nodded left, attack from both directions and pin down any one in the middle, classic pincer move. She then noticed that the head emancipated from Stim's body was within arms reach and a idea crept into Amur's head.

The most satisfying sound of a Light saber igniting cut through everything as Mid vaulted over to begin his dance of death. Amur didn't immediately vault over instead preferring for a brief period where everyone would focus on Mid, it would give her a chance to catch them off guard. Amur counted down 3, 2, 1, go in her head before bolting from the table pistol in one hand, severed head tucked in the other. In a manic sprint she charged towards one of the goons on the left eyes still fixated on Mid. She raised her sidearm putting two rounds into the guys mid section causing him to collapse and cry in agony. That was the nice thing about slug throwers, they had a way of stopping people that you sometimes couldn't with a blaster. The sound of the gun fire caused the shooters on the left and one in center to quickly change their aim now wildly firing towards Amur. Bottles shattered, lights exploded, chips of wood seared and chipped everywhere in a chaotic disorienting mess. Amur kept charging for a a half wall to take cover behind stopping to deposit another two rounds at another person on the left, one hitting his upper leg thigh, the other hitting his stomach causing him to drop to the ground and his voice to join the chorus of screams.

The final man started to lay down suppressing fire at the half wall, Amur bided her time letting the man empty more of his power pack into the wall. Amur shut her eyes then using the force to get a could lock on where he was shooting from. A quick bit of calculations went on in her head as the man waited for Amur to expose herself, tension building in him.

"Catch!"

Amur cried out as she threw the severed head at him over the wall. The man reflexively dropped his gun to catch the object. It took a second to process that he was holding a Nautolan's head, eyes and face still contorted in fear causing him to drop the head. Immediately afterwards a shot went straight into his upper chest area and he fell to ground clutching the wound watching blood starting to spurt out. Amur then took this opportunity to take out her own light saber and ignite it. She stepped out Light saber prominently displayed hoping to give anyone left something to look at as she stared down the remaining prey.

"Right who's next?" She called in a growling taunt.

Mid was a bit preoccupied to pay attention to his companion...but what he did see made him smirk. She flung a head at an opponent, making him drop his gun before getting shot in the chest. She stood and challenged the last 3 men.

They were terrified, and rightly so. They were caught between two Sith ready to tear them apart. One turned to look at Mid but got a lightsaber through the face before falling to the floor. He stood back and let the attention fall to him, opening the last two up to his companion. Once they were dealt with he smirked. "Are you sure you're not a Pureblood?" he quipped. His face grew more serious as he sensed more enemies outside. "Alright, keep your eyes open. I can sense them out there." he said and started to walk to the exit...but stopped. He held his hand out to stop her then smiled under his helmet. "Let's take the stairs." he commented and led the way to the back of the bar. One guy was struggling to stand up but Mid buried a Lanvarok blade in his back and summoned a concussion grenade to his belt.

Outside a group of 12 or so thugs were standing in the open with rifles and pistols all trained on the doorway of the bar. They were anxious, ready to fire at the drop of a hat...only their attention was completely on the door.

From an apartment window above them a grenade fell right in front of them all and went off. They were blind, deaf, and disoriented. Mid jumped out of the window and used the force to land softly between them. His second lightsaber ignited and with one swing he beheaded 4 of the thugs in one blow before ending two more with quick slices. The rest he was sure Amur could deal with as he looked around.

His eyes went wide and he tackled Amur into cover as a missile headed for the both of them. Were it a split second later they would both be toast. Behind a dumpster Mid shot Amur a glance. "Next time we stay out of Underworld, how about that?" he remarked and turned his attention to the shooters along the narrow street, all aiming at them and firing to get a lucky shot. "Got a plan?" he asked her while thinking of one of his own.

Amur couldn't help but get a bit of euphoria from seeing the fear on the faces of her assailants. They were under their skin and in control now. When Mid tore apart one of the men she took it as her cue to join in on the fun. The person closest to her, a Zeltron who seemed frozen in indecision over who to target got a lightsaber stabbed straight into his abdomen. Amur having charged him had now grabbed him with one arm conserving her momentum and using him as a living shield making her way to the last foe. The final person suddenly turning to Amur's direction firing a few shots into that fruitless impacted her meatshield. With a simple shove the remains of the Zeltron were thrown towards the man causing him to stumble and lose balance. By the time he looked up to find his attacker, a lightsaber had cut him into two.

Amur had a sense of pride when Mid asked if she was a pureblood. She had tried hard to abandon her coruscantian bourgeois roots, and embrace the Sith style of living and a little validation was nice, maybe a good chance to get closer to Mid and discover where he was weak provided they actually survived this encounter."Would you believe I came from this shitehole of a planet? Amur responded, partly having that disbelief herself, to think that Skyler would ever be capable of any of this? She just scream and cower like any other weakling. Sadly fun banter would have to wait as Mid announced the presence of more gathering outside, seemed like the underground needed more bloodshed for the day. Realizing that she might need something with a bit more reach she looked around and saw a LRA 9200 rifle that was in very good nick, what the heck was this doing here? Just who did they manage to piss off? Amur would file this under questions to ask to anyone who may be alive after they were done. Amur then emptied the used power pack from the rifle, and scavenged a couple power packs from the plentiful supply of corpses. She made her way for the door, wrapping her new rifle's sling around her and loading a fresh pack.

Mid though had a better idea, take high ground and rain death from above. She wasn't going to argue, a good idea was a good idea, best not to complain about the mouth it came from. She readied her rifle waiting for the distinctive sound of the concussion grenade. As soon as it went off she raised her head above the window taking aim at two people who were farthest away from the building, dazed and confused they proved to be a turkey shoot to hit. Amur then made a leap out of the window trying to use one of the thugs to break her fall. It wasn't perfect and she felt a shot of pain shoot up from her feet all the up to the beginnings of her spine. Still the thug was knocked down and with a shot to the head from her pistol dealt with. The last two were so easy to take care that it was barely a foot note to Amur. Two shots to the chest and they were down. She started to get regaining feeling in her legs when the whistling of a rocket suddenly became apparent to her followed immediately by being tackled. With the sound of the sudden detonation of the rocket causing a ringing sensation and disorientation for a moment until it clicked that they were behind a dumpster and that blaster bolts were being rained around their new cover.

"Agreed." She said to Mid and really it was only to show that she was still concious and able to pay attention. Then Mid asked for a plan. Hmm Amur's mind started to think. Narrow street, limited cover lots of guns and a target rich environment what a situation. Amur tried to think of how they were going to get beyond this stinking dumpster...

"This is probably the only good cover we'll get, I say we bring it with us. Push it towards them, and deal with these guys as we go. It's a start atleast."

It wasn't much but sometimes you have to make do with the hand your dealt.

Amur mentioned using the dumpster for cover, which got a nod from Mid. "Since you're the one with the best gun here for that range, how about you shoot while I push?" he said as he clipped his lightsabers to his belt. "Sometimes it sucks to be twice the size of everybody else." he grumbled as he pressed a sshoulder and a hand against the dumpster and drew the Force through him to amplify his strength.

With a grunt he started to push the heavy dumpster on his own as a decent speed. Quickly enough to put pressure on the enemies but not quickly enough to lead them into a kill box. Blaster bolts clanged against the dumpster and Mid made sure to keep his head low. "We just need to get these guys out of the way, then we're free. The speeder is up ahead." he explained as he pushed. When they got close enough to the 6 or so enemies he halted the dumpster and drew his lightsabers to finish off any thug that Amur had missed.

With all the enemies finished off and their way to the speeder cleared Mid waved at her to catch up. "Come on! Before we get swarmed again!" he called out and waited for her to catch up before making a run for the speeder. He hopped into the driver seat and blasted off as soon as Amur was in the vehicle. "The next time someone tries to rope me into the Bounty Hunters' Guild I'll strangle them." he grumbled as they blasted off to the surface.

Amur braced her left arm against the dumpster to assist with mid. She rested the rifle on the top of the dumpster to act as a natural support. There was an initial struggle to get the dumpster moving until the screeching sound of metal on concrete rain across everyone's ears. Amur laid down suppressing fire with her rifle, she may have managed to graze on but really the intended effect was to remind her opponents that they could still fight back. When the Dumpster got moving to point where Amur was confident Mid could sustain their momentum she let go so she could take better aim with rifle.

It was clear that the thugs were starting to panic now that the safety of distance was eroding before their very eyes. Mainly exposing themselves for too long. With three shots 3 were now down, thankfully armor wasn't really on the agenda for these people. When the dumpster ground to a halt Amur then took aim at another person and another body then dropped to ground. Mid then dispatched the remaining people with a swift strike of his lightsaber.

Amur still with adrenaline flowing through her veins was now scanning around to see where the next outcropping of foes was about to sprout from until she heard Mid call to her. She broke out into a sprint chasing after Mid the sight of escape in the form of the speeder gracing her eyes. She jumped into the vehicle and before she could fully seat herself Mid was already driving off hoping to get to safety.

When she finally had a chance to be outside of the chaos and just rest her body finally gave in. She felt all the pain that she had been ignoring come back to her. She didn't know if she could get back up for awhile as her scarred body always took joy in holding her up. The price for a constant reminder of one's mistakes. Her head weakly turned towards Mid after processing his comment.

"Personally I would love to start with the twat that sent those guys. Right now though I need some rest... and maybe a chiropractor too"
