So. I decided to try out this show. I gotta admit that they get some high caliber names on the show. It was pretty decent from what I've seen thus far. I'll continue on with it for now. Anyone else watch it?
Having seen the first two seasons, I wasn't sure what to expect. The first season was great, but I didn't like the second season. I was hoping this season would be an improvement.
The first episode was pretty good, but I was taken really off-guard with the premise. Obviously everyone knew it was going to be about witches, but... Well, I wasn't expecting the show to be like "Hey look, we're all witches and we're doing witch stuff!" I guess it was just more upfront than I expected; the previous seasons have had a lot more buildup before the crazy shit starts happening, and this one starts off on kind of a crazy premise. Honestly I expected Sam and Dean Winchester to kick in the door any minute, toss a witty one-liner and kill the Supreme. It really felt more like an episode of Supernatural than AHS.
I'll wait to formulate a full opinion until I'm a couple episodes in. The first episode wasn't bad, but they'll have to do better if they want to keep an audience-- especially the audience that liked the first season.
I'm not sure what to think. A lot of this seems like shock for the sake of shock to me. It's not bad but it really hasn't compelled me just yet. I may have to check out the first season since that is the season everyone tells me is really good.
