There was a certain peace in training, to let oneself forget the rest of the galaxy for a short amount of time and focus wholeheartedly on one singular activity. Everything seemed so far away when it was time to practice lightsaber drills, or to meditate and connect with the Force in its infiniteness. There were no Sith, there was no war, there was only the moment, and that was sometimes all that was required. There was something profound in training, but it was more than that...it was self-improvement, an endless goal that one strived for under the best and worst of circumstances. Suffice to say, Aronas Vicar took his training seriously, which was something his own former instructors could attest to with some enthusiasm of their own.
Yet today was not concerning Aronas' training, or at least not directly. Today was devoted to the next generation of Jedi Knights, those who had yet to take their Trials and ascend into the full responsibilities of being a Jedi. War made the responsibilities of even Padawans become heightened, yet not every Padawan had a Master and even those who did might seek out extra tutelage in their off-hours. Therefore Aronas made the decision to begin teaching classes in his own off-hours, such as they may be, beginning with a simple training course concerning the Jedi's primary weapon. The lightsaber, made both famous and infamous over millennia of use between various Light and Dark Side factions.
"Good morning all, and welcome to this first day of instruction." Aronas stood before a small group of gathered Padawan learners, several training droids behind him with stun batons in their hands. "My name is Aronas Vicar, and it is my honour to guide you through today's lessons. Today we will be engaging in simple lightsaber practice, but first a question: when should a Jedi draw his blade?" It might have sounded like a trick question, and to some degree it was...but on some level, Aronas truly was curious to know how everyone would answer. There was an expectation for certain, but expectations existed to be subverted...
