Hi boys and girls. An Infectious Situation is an 'apply to play' thread. Before I outline the plot of the thread, I want to just say why I want to have it as an 'apply to play' thread. Simply: I want solid reasons for this to be occurring, and each character NEEDS a good reason to be here. Run of the mill mercenaries (unless you have an exceptional reason) will not suffice for this thread, as it simply makes no sense for them to be here. Ideally, this thread should have Sith, Imperials, Jedi, Alliance, Chiss, Mandalorians, or appropriate Independants.
Now, as a question of 'location'. The thread technically will take place on a planet called Plooma, which according to the map is deep behind Imperial territory. For the purposes of this RP, i would kindly as that everyone ignore this fact, and magically pretend it borders everyone's territory. >.> (Just go with it, guys).
To the point!
My new character, Lachlan Artagan is a Viral Biologist who has been caught in a cluster******* of a situation. Employed by the Imperium to research a cure for a particularly vicious disease nicknamed 'VIC', he and his team were a victim of unknown terrorist actions, resulting in a weaponised form of the virus being released in the lab, killing his co-workers.
The thread, which will be named An Infectious Situation, will start with Lachlan transmitting a wide-beam broadcast summing up the situation, and the Empire's "apparent betrayal", and his need for help within a certain timeframe before he gets blown sky-high. Hopefully, with the myriad of people who will declare their interest for this thread (please be interested...), there will be a race to get to him first, rescue him and 'sway' him to that particular faction's interests/goals. Whether it be forced labour, or assisted research for a cure, or whatever - thats for the RP to determine.
For everyone who is interested, please post a link to your character, and an outline of WHY your character would be interested in rescuing/capturing a Viral Biologist who is currently in a cluster****. Please note: There is OBVIOUS risk involved (not REAL risk) of your characters becoming infected by VIC - not to fear, no one will actually fall ill - so please be sure your character is either prepared to take the risk, or prepared to die if you're committed to this thread.
If you have any questions, queries, suggestions, or would like to express interest, please post in this thread.
Cheers,
- Cassa
