Site Lore
An artifact once owned by Darth Andeddu, also known as the Immortal God-King of Prakith, the ring fell first into disuse and later into obscurity. As an artifact made by such a powerful and renowned Sith however, the ring maintains a connection to the Dark Side that makes it something that even those without Force Sensitivity wish to covet.

Description

Known as an Immortal God-King not just for his impressive lifespan, Darth Andeddu was historically noted for his ability to counter some assassination attempts by fellow Sith with nothing but the wave of a hand. With said flourish of his hand, Darth Andeddu was able to absorb either Sith Lightning or fire-based attacks from would-be assassins and store the energy within a ring of his own construction.

Andeddu's Hunger, as Sith Pureblood historians began to call it, was forged from beskar with Sith magics imbued within it and the gems that were set within it. During a more competent assassination attempt, the assassins managed to remove the gems from their setting and attacked - believing this rendered the magics within the ring void.

It did not, as the spell is within the beskar metal itself - the gems are solely decorative.

With the passing of Andeddu, the ring fell into the possession of Darth Bane during the latter's quest to achieve the same level of immortality as the former had claimed to possess. Unlike Andeddu though, Bane preferred not to openly use the ring and upon his own passing it was passed down through many Sith who knew nothing of it's true power.

In the current age, the ring sits within the treasure room of a non-Force Sensitive man who believed the half-dead Sith who brought it to his world when he claimed it was worth a King's ransom - it was not, however, worth keeping said Sith alive. Unable to use the ring, however, the King was content to lock the ring away where none could claim to possess it but he.

PvP Usage

At the start of any PVP thread, the wearer of the ring MUST declare whether it is set to absorb lightning/electrical energy or fire; If this is not done in the opening post or thoroughly agreed OOC beforehand, attempts to use it later will find it lacking 'charge' as it were.

During PVP the ring may utterly absorb up to TWO attacks made by a Knight/Champion level opponent or ONE attack made by a Master/Sith Lord level opponent. Once the limit has been reached, the ring cannot be used again during the same PVP. Council and above level attacks overwhelm the ring and it absorbs NONE of the attack.

Use of the ring does require some concentration to begin with, to activate it, using the Force. This usage is hard to detect as it is very much a tiny amount of Force energy required.

Intent

To create a new artifact to give Force users a defensive option when choosing artifacts.
