It was his parents aspirations that would expose him to the very thing that saved him from such a path; the Jedi. It was well traveling to Coruscant that the family encountered a Jedi Knight who sensed the Force in young Andrei. Unbeknownst to the elder Berrak's what would become of Andrei upon the Jedi learning of this he was taken to Tython at the age of 6 and instructed in the Jedi teachings.Andrei excelled in the early stages of his training. Even taking a strong liking to the use of a Lightsaber. As a youngling some said he had promise to one day be a true Weaponmaster. An instructor to all Jedi in the use of a blade. However, it was his connection to the Force that gave him such proficiency with the blade. Andrei elected to instead become a student of the living Force as he sensed it, felt it, and embraced it instead of with the weapon of the Jedi. He instead worked in the defense practices with the Lightsaber. Constantly working on his form and ability within Soresu to best protect himself when the time came for it. His training had only just begun, but most felt the young Padawan showed promise.
It was training during a time of unrest between the Sith and Jedi that allowed Andrei to truly see what it meant to be a Force Sensitive. What it meant to be a Jedi, and what it was to clash blades with a Sith. He had heard stories of what it was like to come face to face with a dark sider, but it isn't until you cross paths for the first time that you see and feel what it means to channel the Force for selfish gain. It took almost 17 years for his title of Knight to be achieved. The path he had chosen was that of patience and relentless work. He did not wish to become a Knight to attain the title, but to earn the right and acceptance to stand alongside his fellow Jedi. It is during times of war that peacekeepers must try their best to resolve battle; even if their side finds it to be a just cause. [/fancybox4]
