Per my OP template, thread is death enabled
Kaldar wasn't really sure what to think of Thule. It was an interesting place and all, but in truth, he was in many ways more interested in the partner that was going to be meeting with him. Highly recommended by Arcanos, though of course, Kaldar wasn't going to say that.

Instead, he would continue to maintain the semi-mysterious persona that he had cultivated in the Sith. In the long term that wouldn't help his advancement, but in the short term it let him acclimate to who the major players were. They all knew about each other, but none of them new about Kaldar. Except for the fact that he was Master who didn't often hang around with the other Sith.

All the better. Rather than sitting and drinking coffee this time, Kaldar stood overlooking a large park below, watching the various people running around either children playing or people walking their dogs or biking or whatever else people did. For all the bad publicity that Thule often got, it wasn't such a terrible place. Maybe a bit stuffy for Kaldar's taste, but it represented something to the Sith Order.

And that something needed... refocusing. And who better than Kaldar, the troublemaker. Vagrant. That's what Azar called me. So rude, he thought to himself with a shake of his head to himself.

As it turned out, when you made yourself useful, you got more tasks. More dangerous tasks. But it wasn’t why Iymril was annoyed, no. It was the fact this newfound favor they were earning pulled them away from their own research and studies. Seeing that they’d just stabilized the alchemical formulas used in the creation of their own little monstrosities, Iymril wanted to rush back as soon as possible.

Or they had wanted to until they found out the task they were being sent on.

It was time for all to recognize the power of the Sith and the weakness of Tempest. It seemed Iymril had been handpicked to be a herald of and bring about that new age. That alone was telling of their value. Something Iymril would strive to maintain and build upon going into the future.

They were to meet with their contact at a high rise cafe, one recently built into the face of the statue dedicated to Arcanos. The only clients allowed within were Sith and Sith of either influence or sponsored by Sith of influence. The Sephi was the latter rather than the former and they knew that.

They’d walk through the rather empty cafe until their eyes locked on a human gazing down at the park below. Their ears twitched with anticipation. As Iymril approached one thing became painfully clear, this Sith was hot. Why were all the beings surrounding Arcanos unnaturally and overwhelmingly attractive? What was the Sith Lord’s secret? Iymril pushed all those questions to the side as they came alongside the other Sith.

I hear we have quite the task ahead of us.” Iymril said as they too watched the people below. “I am Iymril but I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure of making acquaintances.” They continued cooly. “You are?

Kaldar's mind was rather preoccupied with the job at hand. Each job like this was a puzzle all its own, and that was what Kaldar loved about this job. His return to the Sith Order wasn't brought about because he needed the Order anymore, and that was an empowering position. He was here because he wanted to be and because he enjoyed the game.

He enjoyed picking apart these puzzles and turning them over in his mind and the absolute dopamine rush of finding that little opening. Taking ten good men into an impregnable fortress and impregnating it was exhilarating.

Kaldar glanced over at the other Sith as they arrived, flicking his eyes over their person and making a myriad of subconscious judgments in that split second although his face betrayed nothing.

He extended a hand out in greeting.

Kaldar, he said. He'd already done some research had heard some rumors about this one. By all accounts a brutalist but effective, which Kaldar could respect.

That we do, he said. You ready to become a traitor? he asked. No point in beating around the bush: if they failed they'd be labeled traitors, and if they were successful... well, they would help usher in a new regime. Ultimately, Kaldar was quite used to being a traitor at this point.

Iymril took Kaldar’s hand in their’s and gave it a single, short shake. Their ears flicked in amusement when Kaldar asked if they were ready to become a traitor. Their face betrayed nothing, any they felt was hidden behind an icy veil. They simply gave a small nod in response.

I believe many here already call me traitor.” They replied. “What’s a few more?” Iymril asked rhetorically. “However, there are prying ears here.” They pointed out, nodding towards the employees, particularly the wait staff and bartender. “Unless you’re not opposed to leaving a trail, I suggest we have a discussion someplace a little more private.” Iym suggested.

The Sephi didn’t mind either way. This planet was going to be their Order’s soon. What was a few dead menials? They were like a colony of ants after all, countless insects they existed to serve and die, that was all.

If so, we can reconvene here.” Iymril said, offering a data chip with coordinates to their manor.

The Sephi had no doubt that guards had been stationed there but what were they compared to a Sith? It gave Iymril an excuse to plink off the squatters and retake their home. So a few dead guards or murdering/influencing the cafe’s employees. Any of the options were fine with them.

Oh this was a bristly one it seemed. Or else perhaps they were very concerned about becoming a traitor. The options were limitless, but for Kaldar, it was just another day at the office.

Well excellent, you won't miss a beat then, he said. Kaldar gave a glance around the restaurant. It made little difference to him: a Sith who was already wanted by the Tempestian loyalists. He supposed the Sephi probably didn't have the same death mark, though.

Kaldar shrugged indifferently.

Sure, he said, no doubt the nonchalance with which he approached it raising some questions of its own.

And where is "here"? he asked, taking and plugging in the coordinates to see what he could. This was a nice, neutral, public location, and while Kaldar didn't really have the paranoia of some other Sith, he was... well, actually he was a bit reckless, but he wasn't stupid.

Let's take a walk, he suggested instead. He was good at spotting a tail and it would involve a lot fewer potentially bugged restaurants or unknown travel points.

Iym’s ears twitched humorously at Kaldar’s response. Their icy expression reflected none of their amusement though. Instead, they simply gazed at him with a neutral expression of relative disinterest.

Indeed.” Came their reply before they handed the data chip to their compatriot.

Kaldar suggested they take a walk in the park, Iymril wouldn’t push back. They could just as easily discuss things there. The other Sith was correct, there were less prying ears there.

When they made it outside, Iymril would address the coordinates, and where here was. “My manor.” They replied. “The lowest level has cauldrons, braziers, results from my experiments, and cadavers.” Iym briefly explained. “You know, useful things.

But not necessities for me to work my arts.” Iymril continued. “I assume you have a plan Kaldar?” They asked. “And what is your specialty?” Iym asked, thinking back to their first meeting with Corax. It was a valuable question to ask.

Kaldar looked at the Sephi as he stared ahead with not a twitch. Kriffing Sephi, it's like talking to a brick wall, he thought to himself, something that would probably be voiced sooner or later at this rate.

Hm, he said, with an inflection of interest at the mention of all the toys in Iymril's basement. Creepy, but interesting. You know... said the man who made an abomination army.

An alchemist, then, maybe? he thought to himself. Typical... Kaldar having to come up with all the plans. Never mind that it was more or less his idea. That wasn't the point.

Upload a virus into the main communication system, leave it dormant until we're ready, he said. That was the mission more or less, although the "how" of getting inside was still a work in progress. A work that Kaldar had already given some thought to.

My specialty? he repeated. He didn't even really have an answer for that. He was a Sith and Sith needed a variety of skills. Kaldar... had learned a lot of different things under both his old master and under Raze.

Getting things done, he said with a snicker at his own statement. There was an element of truth to it, but Kaldar... didn't really fit neatly into the buckets of most other Sith. He was an expert at becoming an expert and did whatever he needed to in order to survive. Those were traits... that were largely lost in the modern day but were the staples of the Banite Sith.

You're an alchemist? he asked.

Iymril listened as Kaldar described his plan. It was simple, it was direct, it was a hidden bomb that would bring ruin to Tempest's only loyal world. It was perfect. Iym's ears twitched slightly as they perked a hair from the neutral position. This was going to be fascinating.

"That is a wonderful plan Kaldar." Iymril replied, their voice lacking any inflection. "Getting into the planetary communications center might be more of an issue though." They replied. "A Mandalorian nearly infiltrated a shield generator, security should be higher now." The Sephi continued. "But that shouldn't too much of an issue for us."

Kaldar's response to their question was vague. Iymril had a feeling everything about this man was going to be that way. It was fine though, they didn't need to know everything about their partner. Just that they were capable and if he was a relative unknown, Iymril assumed that meant he was exactly that. Their ears flicked slightly as they turned their gaze towards massive structure comprised of countless communication dishes.

"I dabble." Iym replied, their gaze falling down to the other Sith from the corner of their eye.

Two could play at that game.

"I have a few things prepared that will aid us and I am ready whenever you are, Kaldar."

Kaldar cast an almost lazy glance at Iymril as he tried to figure out if the Sephi was being sarcastic or serious. It sounded serious, so that was a plus.

Optimal difference being that we're Sith not Mandalorians, he said. Sure, a Mandalorian may have almost infiltrated once, but Thule was still a Sith world run by Sith. Most people weren't willing to literally risk their necks questioning some Sith who were coming through.

The Sephi decided to be equally vague, although Kaldar had an inkling the Sith did more than dabble. Ultimately, it wouldn't likely change much about their plan either way.

The kicker is that Tempest and I had a bit of a falling out, so my security codes aren't going to work, he said. Hence they arrived at why Kaldar needed another Sith's help for the infiltration. He could talk his way past the droids and mind trick his way past the guards, but the credential codes were another story. Codes that Iymril would have access to. The combination of Kaldar's bluffing skills and Iyrmril's codes should get them into the comms center.
