BIOGRAPHY

"My family, the Volkov line, has served House Ulgo for generations..."

The Volkov family has existed within the walls of House Ulgo in some capacity or another since the inception of the Great House. Their influence has waxed and waned of the generations, as with any ancient bloodline within the Great Houses. No matter their status though, the Volkov family has always stood as a protector to liberty and sword for the meek in their time of need. However within the past century, The Volkov family were stripped from their lofty status and their family name was dashed from the annals of Ulgo history.

This singular event was born from the misguided ambition of a single man, Zakhar "the Shamed" Volkov. Before the outbreak of the One Hundred Year or Jedi Civil War, Zakhar was discovered to have some margin of Force potential. Thus, the young man was whisked away from his own fledgling to study the Force within the hallowed halls of the Jedi Order. However, it would be within these halls that the Volkov family met their ruination.

As Zakhar studied within the halls of Jedi Order, he learned of both Light and Dark, he felt the constant conflict between the two opposite forces. Overtime, Zakhar's studies became increasingly more focused on the powers of Darkness as he slowly succumbed to the seductive whispers of the Dark Side. Thus, when the broiling tension between the students of the Light and the apostles of Darkness finally birthed war, Zakhar took up the mantle of Exile.

While this initially brought no shame to the Volkov family, as Zakhar told his family of how the Light oppressed all beings and sought to rob them of emotion, eventually a son of Volkov would shame them all. As the war spilled out from the Jedi Order's temples and into the Galaxy, Zakhar was forced to behold the horrors of both Light and Dark. From his point of view as an Exile, the Jedi butchered all who opposed them. However, Zakhar clung onto his sanity tight enough to know that the Exiles were no better, enslaving and slaughtering those deemed beneath them.

It was for that reason Zakhar fled, he did not stand up for the broken and meek, he did not attempt to right his own evils. Instead, Zakhar simply abandoned the people who were and would be crushed beneath the heels of Galactic War to their fates; without even the slightest attempt to honor his own family's codes. Zakhar returned to the Republic, wreathed in corruption and flung himself at her limited mercies.

Zakhar would find no mercies, he would find no pardons, instead the young Alderaanian man would only find punishment. Zakhar was sentenced to life in a Republic Maximum Security prison for his role against the Republic and her people. Zakhar's family, was ripped apart as his wife was sentenced to thirty years within the same prison but his children were deemed innocent and returned to the care of House Ulgo.

It would be here that the Volkov family lost everything, the children given to care of an aunt and uncle but rendered destitute. However, the folly of the Republic was in assuming Zakhar's children were entirely untouched by his own corruption. The man had trained his children in the ways of darkness and was never given the opportunity to even attempt to redeem them before his own demise. So, this unholy knowledge was secretly passed down within the Volkov family and was utilized not only to protect House Ulgo from perceived threats but to slowly compile some relevance within the Alderaanian House once more all while jealously guarding their dark secret.

"...but because of the folly of one man, they abandoned me..."

Mikhail and his twin sister, Sasha were both born into the Volkov line and to the pleasure of their patriarchal father were both sensitive to the Force. As was tradition in their family, the father began to expose his children to the dark text written by his forefather and damned them to the path of darkness. He concealed their gifts in deception, ensuring that they never played their brutal "games" around anyone outside of their family and through the closeness of their training, a force bond was born between the twins.

However, the Great Houses often built ties through marriages and so it was that Sasha's hand was given to Panliel Skindel, a rising vassal family beneath of House Organa. Slowly, the Sasha and Panliel were introduced to one another and allowed to play together in the hopes that their friendship would blossom into love for one another and it worked. As Mikhail, Sasha, and Panliel grew older Sasha and Panliel grew closer together while Mikhail was left alone.

Having lost his only companion, his only friend, and due to their unique connection, the only person who could truly understand his heart; Mikhail lost himself in suffering. He began to view Panliel, the man who had become a close friend during childhood as his enemy, a kidnapper who had stolen his sister from him. Sasha, his beloved sister as his possession and something that belonged to him.

Mikhail, confronted by this pain and rage stole his ancestor's lightsaber and moved to confront Panliel and reclaim his sister. However, Sasha sensed her brother's turmoil through their connection and through the bliss, peace, and joy she had found with Panliel sought to soothe her brother's wounded soul. She hoped that she could bring him into the same warmth she felt and perhaps, with his aid, lead their family out of the shadows.

However, when she confronted her brother with Panliel by her side, her words fell upon deaf ears. Mikhail moved to strike down his antagonist in a blind fury but as he rushed past his sister with his ligihtsaber prepared to sunder Panliel and destroy the man for his countless slights, something stopped him. A strange tightness had wrapped itself around Mikhail and it ripped him away from Panliel and backwards, towards this interruption of his justice. Enraged, Mikhail struck at the source of this telekinetic grasp, his orange blade carved through it's body and the scent of burning flesh assailed his senses.

However, it was the split second of agony Mikhail felt from his sister before their bond was shattered that brought him back to his senses. As the haze of rage and hate melted from his body, grief and anguish rushed to take it's place. Before him laid the corpse of his sister, cut in twain by his own hand due to Panliel's interference in their lives.

And so when Panliel rushed to the side of his beloved's corpse, the broken man never saw the stroke of the lightsaber that ended his life. However, Mikhail felt no sense of accomplishment over his rival, his victory had been one forged in pain, anguish, and loss. Once Panliel had been laid low, Mikhail cradled his sister's cold corpse and wept, he mourned her loss, he despised her choice in interfering in his attempt at reclaiming her, and he hated Panliel for ruining his life.

"...so I will burn everything they love and hold dear..."

Mikhail knew crimes would be uncovered, he also knew he couldn't return to any Ulgo compounds without his sister at his side, it would draw too much suspicion. Instead, the young man turned his gaze to the capital city of Aldera to find his escape off world. It was on-board a public transport that the young Mikhail found the solace of freedom into the great beyond.

However, as the transport vessel cruised further from his homeworld, Mikhail felt a tugging in the recesses of his mind. A strange calling that he had never truly been able to make out until that moment, until he was freed from all burdens, and it beckoned him to follow it into the unknown. Mikhail moved like a shadow into the cockpit of the transport, compelling both the guards and the pilots to bend to his will by dominating their feeble minds.

The guards ensured the other passengers never rebelled as the pilots set a route to where Mikhail had felt the dark power drawing him in. It was there in the reaches of Unknown Space that Mikhail abandoned the crew and passengers of the commandeered flight to their respective fates. An upon the surface he found the source of what had drawn him to the world, a group of loosely organized but militant Dark Jedi, the remnant of the Exile's grand army; they branded themselves Exiled Templars.

Despite Mikhail's attempts to remain in cover and out of sight, he was captured and brought before a commanding officer of sorts. There was no questioning what he was, the taint of the Dark Side's corruption burned in his presence and veins. The aggression written on Mikhail's face told his captors all they needed to know about the young man before them, he was clearly no Jedi.

Despite this fact, Mikhail was not accepted into their ranks straight away, no the Templars sought to break him in order to remain safe. They tortured Mikhail, questioned his motives, his beliefs, and what had brought him to them. Eventually, Mikhail broke and told them who he was, where he had come from, how he had been trained, and what he had done. After that Mikhail was put back in a holding cell for what felt like weeks until finally he was dragged from his cell and given two options; join or die.

Mikhail chose life without hesitation and was inducted into the Exiled Templars despite some measure of suspicion regarding him. Slowly, the Templars educated Mikhail on their philosophies and viewpoints on the Force. It was through their teachings that Mikhail began to understand their dream for the Galaxy and a way to bring about what he envisioned, a universe without pain, suffering, and needless loss. Because of this personal objective that Mikhail committed himself fully to the Templars purpose, he would faithfully serve and raise in power or fail and die.

"...and from the ashes of their broken reality I will build a new one, free of imperfections."

PERSONALITY

Mikhail is a man defined by a single moment in his life, the death of his sister and his role in it. While Mikhail is directly responsible for her death, and while he despises himself for striking without hesitation, he refuses to accept full responsibility for his own actions. Instead, Mikhail pushes blame onto Panliel for stealing Sasha away from him and Sasha herself for interfering in his rescue of her.

In fact, this moment in his life was so defining that the continuous mental and emotional anguish the memory brings has become what fuels Mikhail's connection to the Dark Side. While Mikhail is capable of utilizing emotions such as hatred and rage in the heat of battle, it has become his guilt and suffering that he primarily utilizes to perform feats.

Due to the tragic events that the death of his sister caused, Mikhail has adopted the viewpoint that the Galaxy is inherently flawed. As such, he seeks to force change upon the galaxy in order to eliminate the chances of the same anguish that was inflicted upon him from befalling another. He understands that to accomplish this goal, he will have to take part in great atrocities to rip apart the systems of the Galaxy and rebuild it in his design.

As a Exiled Templar, Mikhail finds himself operating with more restraint then his more rampant and chaotic brethren. While he understands that inciting chaos and destruction can be powerful tools to utilize on enemies and obstacles, he does not believe that they should be first options. Instead, Mikhail's tactics are more surgical, often avoiding civilian casualties at all costs in order to paint the Exiled Jedi as reformed heroes rather then manipulative monsters.

Due to Mikhail's more ordered approach to the Exile's agenda he often finds himself at odds with some of his brothers and sisters; the Exiled Marauders and Arcanists in particular. In fact, Mikhail has taken a deep rooted hatred for the Exiled Marauders, viewing them as a blight upon not only the Exiles but the Galaxy as a whole and his antithesis. Mikhail is personally willing to kill, betray, or abandon Exiled Marauders at his earliest convenience when forced to pair with them.

While Mikhail despises the mere existence of the Exiled Marauders and their unquenchable blood-lust; he is cautious and almost fearful of the Arcanists. To Mikhail, these Arcanists represent the unpredictability of the Dark Side and are largely wild cards in his eyes. Their selfish ambition to dominate all life does not fit into his own agenda and thus makes them a potential threat.

Mikhail despises the Jedi as they not only oppressed the freedoms of others to keep themselves in a position of power but foolishly cling to dogmatic views. While Mikhail did not always hate the Jedi in this manner, his already dislike of them was stoked into pure hatred over the three years he has served within the Exiled Templars.

Despite his actions pulling him deeper into the darkness, Mikhail cannot break a faint whisper in the back of his mind. The calming voice reminding him of his sister's love for him, of the forgiveness she offered him that day, and that it is never too late to turn back from his path. This ever present tugging at his heart can cause some difficulty when communing with the Dark Side and is something Mikhail says he is actively seeking to purge from him.

  • While some Jedi were raised alone, orphaned, or suffering in some way, Hlodovic's childhood contained none of those things. In fact, when Hlodovic was a cub, his life was rather unremarkable he grew up in a stable family and knew shelter within their home tree. He never truly knew hunger or fear, the life laid before him promised the same existence, or it would have.

When Hlodovic turned eight his Force sensitivity was discovered by a Jedi that had been sent on a humanitarian mission to Cathar. The aged Zabrak Knight named Oetro offered Hlodovic a chance to understand the connection they had uncovered together, to deepen the bond with life around him, and to lead a fulfilling life by protecting those around him. To the young Hlodovic, it was an irresistible temptation and the cub that was Hlodovic agreed to begin his training as a Jedi initiate. It would be beneath Knight Oetro that Hlodivic's training would begin, on Cathar, during the Knight's humanitarian mission. Here Oetro would lay the foundations of what it meant to be a Jedi. teaching the rambunctious cub temperament and how to begin finding his center through meditation. However, Oetro would also cautious the young initiate against utilizing powerful emotions to draw upon the Force.

Oetro preached to the young Hlodovic of how the Dark Side was a cancer to the Force, he often spoke of how it was an infection of the soul and one that couldn't so easily be excised once it had taken root. However, he also cautioned Hlodovic against hating anyone, including those who could have fallen to the Dark Side, he reminded Hlodovic that even being enshrouded by darkness were still creations of the Force. He taught that while these beings who pursued power through that corruption of the Force must be put down, it wasn't because of hate, instead it was out of pity for them. For Oetro believed that the only true cure for the corruption their souls endured was through the return of their spirit to the Force, to be cleansed by it's embrace.

These were teachings that Hlodovic wouldn't truly understand until much later in his life.

In 144 ABY, three decades after Hlodovic had attained his Knighthood and had served on Lothal as a Temple Guardian for nearly a decade, disaster struck. Firrerre was not just attacked by the Sith, but rendered inhospitable, destroyed entirely. The loss of life in such a magnitude sent ripples of pain and fear through the Force confusing Hlodovic until the Holonet confirmed what had occurred. Hlodovic watched in horror as he finally began understand his old master’s lessons by witnessing them first hand. The Dark Side was a cancer and in the wake of suffering it was growing.

Three years later, Hlodovic would be confronted with a tribulation of his own. Despite the frequency of Sith attacks, Hlodovic had maintained his position on Lothal, believing it was his solemn duty to protect the temple grounds and the trainees within. That was, until the Mandalorians struck, the ferocity of their assault caught many of the Temple Guardians stationed there flat footed and the defense devolved into a fighting retreat rather quickly. Many Knights began trying to ensure priceless artifacts, initiates to the order, and young Padawan made it safely to outbound escape vessels. Once the temple’s loss was all but assured, it was Hlodovic’s duty to protect a group of frightened initiates to escape vessels and escort them safely to the next Order controlled safe point.

However, once Hlodovic had loaded his charges into a vessel, he witnessed a team of Knights succumbing to volleys of fire from Mandalorian fire teams. Hlodovic did what he believed was the right thing, ordering the pilot to take off without him and returning to aid his fellow knights in holding the line before they all fell back to escape transports.

It wouldn’t be until Hlodovic reached the Brighthome starbase that the consequence of his actions would be fully grasped, the initiates he had been assigned to safeguard never arrived. Their fates were never uncovered, as part of his atonement, Hlodovic relinquished his mantle of Temple Guardian, feeling unworthy of the duties it entailed. Instead, Hlodovic turned to meditation to seek out why he had acted so recklessly, rediscover his center, and perhaps, with the guidance of the Light, find clues as to what happened to his charges on Lothal. This would be his focus for the next year until disaster struck once more, this time on Kashyyk.

The same pain and fear that Hlodovic felt in the Force when Firrerre had burned once again pulsed to life. Hlodovic knew almost instinctively that the worst had happened. In the last year Sith attacks had grown more common and more bold. While the majority were repelled it wasn’t without the cost of lives. A cost that was gladly paid in the blood of Jedi, Sector Ranger, and Republic Forces. However, Kashyyk was different, holo-vids of Jedi causing reckless death and destruction surface and a confirmation set itself in Hlodovic's soul, Oetro had been almost right. The dark side was a blight on the galaxy, but it wasn't a cancer that grew in strength slowly over time, it was an aggressive disease and it's practitioners were vectors that spread the contagion across the galaxy. What was worse was that Kashyyk proved, to Hlodovic, that not even the Jedi were above infection and when this understanding reached him, he felt the Light calling to him.

    His atonement couldn't be passive.

The Grandmaster's call for the Jedi to wage war against the Sith and their Darkness, it yet more confirmation for Hlodovic. For his sin, Hlodovic had to act. For his failure in his duty Hlodovic had to bring the fires of justice to the Sith. To atone, the disease that was the Dark Side and it's practitioners had to be purged. This would be his new calling, his duty unto the Order and the Galaxy.
  • Hlodovic is a colossus for his species, standing well over a head taller and weighing over ten kilograms more then most other male Cathar. Despite this, he does not appear overweight or obese. Instead, Hlodovic is covered in lean yet dense muscle which gives him a surprising amount of strength which often catches his opponents off-guard.

Hlodovic's fur has a baseline color of grey with hints of white and black stripes coursing through it. Unlike other Cathar, Hlodovic's ears are more akin to lynx ears as opposed to a common feline's; tipped with tufts of white fur. Additionally, Hlodovic keeps his hair braided into a triple braid top knot and his facial hair into twin lamb chop braids. These hairstyles are rather traditional of his race and do not denote status, power, wealth, or skill in battle. Hlodovic typically keeps these braids held together by silver fixtures but occasionally swaps them out for golden ones.

    • Jedi Wanderer Armor - Hlodovic's armor is comprised of Desh and covers his chest and back, legs, feet, and wrists. The breast and backplates are hidden beneath his tunic, concealing part of his armor from view. Hlodovic's armor has no technological modifications as he relies on the Light to protect him.
    • Handmade clothes - Hlodovic wears clothes he has crafted by hand from the hides of kills from (non-sentient) hunts. These allow him to blend into most society's as a merchant or drifter in almost any culture.
    • Frontier-90 Heavy Blaster Pistol - Hlodovic's sidearm, regularly holstered on his right hip. Hlodovic keeps one energy cell loaded into the weapon and two additional reloads should he need them.
    • Lightbrand - Hlodovic's dual phase greatsaber. Powered by four Kyber Crystals, when it's blade is fully extended Lightbrand's blade reaches 137cm from the standard 91cm. This sudden growth required Hlodovic to utilize ventilation ports on the Greatsaber, creating twin quillons on either side of the blade. Due to the power demands, Hlodovic also was forced to extend the hilt of Lightbrand to 35.5cm, making the hilt of Hlodovic's Greatsaber technically a hand and a half blade.

    • Strong-Willed -
Hlodovic is a man of his values. He doesn’t shift his beliefs or viewpoints based upon simple adversity and is willing to pay the price for them as well.
    • Direct & Honest - Subtlety is not one of Hlodovic’s strong suits. However, he is blunt and honest. Choosing to be direct with allies and friends, transparent with them over obscuring the facts.
    • Loyal, Patient, & Reliable - Loyalty is important to Hlodovic, his ties to his friends and allies are more important to him than almost anything. In addition, Hlodovic is a patient man, he doesn’t rush into situations but rather plans and allows for those plans to unfold. Finally, Hlodovic is usually extremely reliable, trending towards completing his tasks even if they aren’t something he is interested in.
    • Inflexible & Stubborn - Hlodovic tends to be dogmatic in his thinking. He’s best described as inflexible and stubborn in some situations. He’s often too focused on what works or what he believes will work to recognize alternative pathways to success.
    • Judgmental - Hlodovic believes it is the Jedi Order’s duty to purge both the Dark Side and it’s practitioners from the Galaxy. As such, he views those who dabble or practice the Dark Side as corrupted and irredeemable. He shows scorn towards those who openly and knowingly engage in pleasantries with practitioners as well.
    • Difficulty expressing emotions - Hlodovic often finds it difficult expressing how he feels both verbally and physically. This causes him to struggle when developing or maintaining bonds with his fellow Jedi.

BIOGRAPHY
Abbadon once went by another name Aranar of Clan Ordo. He was raised to the age of eight before the Jedi took him from his family and trained him to fight in their war against their Exiled. Old enough to remember his family and their ways but young enough to listen out of niaveity, Aranar was shaped into a warrior in his own rights.

His rushed trainined was completed by the age of thirteen and Aranar was declared a Jedi Knight of the Order. Aranar was placed beneath a Knight who was more experienced then he was on the field of battle and sent off to fight with countless other warriors. Unlike other new Jedi Knights, Aranar didn't fear battle, instead, he relished in it.

He felt at peace as he cleaved through his enemies, everything seemed more simple in those moments. There was no meditation, no humanitarian deeds to be done. Instead, there was just a goal to accomplish and an enemy to destroy; and Aranar excelled at the latter of the two.

However, the war he participated in dragged onwards Aranar began to fear the end of the conflict. The Resolnare taught that a man was defined by the moments he was in battle, he became better through overcoming the conflicts around him. Aranar wondered what would become of him without a war, what would his purpose be once the dust had settled.

In the midst of his fear the Jedi forces were moved to Ilum for what was to be the longest, possibly bloodiest, but certainly the final battle of this century long war. It was on Ilum, for that entire year that Aranar slowly lost himself in bloodshed. He became consumed by his lust for battle and his ability to satiate it on almost anything that crossed his path on the planet.

He acted with barely any restraint, showing no quarter or mercy to the Exiled fallen. Those light tethers that held him back were shattered when the corrupted kyber crystal was activated. It was the exact moment that the first wave of dark side energy that pulsated from the crystal touch him that Aranar died and Abbadon was born.

His first action as a being was to slaughter any Jedi, relishing in his newfound freedom. Abbadon preyed upon the wounded, the fleeing, and the unaware within the Jedi ranks. However, as the Jedi fell out of reach, Abbadon's senses returned to him and he recognized the dangers around him.

In order to survive, Abbadon fell into a retreat with the rest of the Exile forces. Abbadon now controls the hunger within him as he attempts to find a way to create not just a simple war, but an eternal one. In his cunning he masks his true desires and cages the gnawing bloodlust within him as he works to create some stability for his newfound allies in the hopes for a bloodsoaked tomorrow.
PERSONALITY
Once a noble Jedi Knight with a Mandalorian upbringing, Abbadon has long since abandoned both cultures beliefs. As he warred against the Exiled Jedi, it was Abbadon's own Mandalorian upbringing that laid the seeds for his fall to the Dark Side. Viewing battle as the defining moments in which a man can truly see who he is at the core of his being; Abbadon began to only find introspection during conflict.

This caused the young Jedi Knight the hope for eternal conflict so he could continue to define himself and hone in his prowess. It was not until the Battle of Ilum and the detonation of the corrupted kyber crystal that Abbadon's values and mind was twisted. Whatever shreds of decency, dignity, and honor were left within the conflicted young man died when the first wave of corruption washed over him.

Now, Abbadon is consumed be a need for constant warfare, not to hone his craft but to simply feel alive again. This has caused Abbadon to develop cold, bloodthirsty, and destructive outlook on his surroundings. Having fought against the cohorts of Exile Slave Armies, Abbadon recognizes the flaws within the old ways of the Exiles and seeks to aid in forging something to achieve his own ends.

To support these dreams of an everlasting, galaxy spanning war Abbadon has adopted a calculated and unpredictable personality. Taming his own demons, even if temporarily in order to allow himself to work in cohesion with those he deems strong within his newfound allies. Earning their trust and their aiding in accomplishing their goals for as long as he deems them useful before casting them aside.

Although Abbadon understands the need for structure, he doesn't long for power within that structure. Instead, Abbadon only wishes to ensure it exists to allow his bloodlust to run freely against all those who oppose them. He is entirely uninterested in commanding cohorts and prefers to watch the life fade from the eyes of his enemies.

Despite being willing to aid in constructing something that will facilitate war, Abbadon will not hesitate to strike down those he deems weak. A true predator, he hunts down incompetent or weaker Exiles in order to ensure the strength of what remains of their "army". While doing this, Abbadon targets the strongest within both the Hutt Cartel and the Jedi Order to destroy them and thereby cripple what strengths they might have.
POSSESSIONS
Thunderslug Pulse Wave Pistol - Abbadon always has one energy cell laoded into the weapon with an additional two reloads on his person at all times. Abbadon carries this weapon with him at almost all times and keeps it holstered on his right hip.

Dual Phase Lightsabers - Abbadon's lightsabers posess internal activation switches which can only be activated by the Force and a dual phase switches. The weapons themselves are not glamorous and appear to be ruggedly made, exemplifying the man Abbadon was even before his complete fall to the Dark Side. The blades of these weapons are crimson. The pair sabers are commonly kept hidden on the back of Abbadon's utility belt, beneath his vest, in a "V" pattern, allowing for easy access to them in times of need.

Clothes - Abbadon's typical attire, commonly worn alongside his Jedi Duel Armor. The clothes themselves have no defensive properties.

Jedi Dueling Armor - Abbadon's Dueling Armor possesses phrik plated bracers, Duraplast arm guards, and Duraplast pauldrons. The armor itself is charcoal tinted, allowing them to blend in more seamlessly to the rest of his outfit.
