History:

Born in Republic space to a moderately well off family, Ari had little to nothing keeping her down. From a young age, she saw the world with wonder and glee, ready to embrace the Galaxy and all it had to give. This was only accented at the fact that she was discovered to be Force Sensitive. When an offer to scholar her arose by the Jedi, her family eagerly pushed her towards that path, and she didn't hesitate in going with them, to learn what they had to teach, and to experience what the force had in store.

As time went on, and her teaching continued, something in Ari changed. Through the fault of no one in particular, the happiness and joy she once experienced seemed harder and harder to reach. Her views on the world, as she learned more about, darkened and faded under a fatalistic glare. Even with the aid of the Jedi, her thoughts went to a darker place.

They never did turn to malevolence, which proved enough to the Jedi. While she spent time mulling over herself and secluding from friends, her hands never carried harm. It was found that, even in her state, orders and missions proved distraction for the woman, if only temporary. Her teachers and mentors commonly relayed feelings of pity for the woman, and whatever inner thoughts she faced.

Personality:

Once happy and boundlessly joyful, the woman is now distant and rather quiet. Finding a solace in solitude, it seems as if there's only so much of people she can handle per day. While she may be a melting pot of emotions, it is important to note that anger is rarely one of them. Within this, much of her original personality has been numbed by whatever mental poison that ails her. She does, however, try to change her attitude, even forcing herself to act in ways she otherwise wouldn't in an attempt to change her core personality. Even throughout her issues, she remains determined in 'fixing' herself. The cause of her current personality can be linked to Depression.

Hey Jab!

I'm reading this on my phone, and haven't given it the complete through once over. I do have an initial question. The character seems set up for a "fall" or is very near "falling." I don't want to discourage creative writing or a story arc you have in mind. My concern is that I'm going to approve the character and in a couple days or a week, she is going to be a Sith or Indie, because of some Darkside event. I don't want to set a precedent where Jedi are in the Order only to fall to the Darkside. Let me know your thoughts. If you aren't comfortable posting them, feel free to PM me.

While she is in a compromised position in terms of her allegiance, a fall on her end won't be a simple thing. She'll remain with the Order for a good while, much longer than a few weeks. Even if she does fall, it's not going to be a simple thing of one thread and boom, she's out, it'll be a longer, more drawn out process, where anyone watching will have time to stop her or guide her if they so wish.

Taking into consideration your comments I would be okay with approving the character. However, I have one remaining comment. There needs to be some explanation for her sudden change in attitude/personality. A person doesn't usually go from being happy-go-lucky, to on a fast track to the Darkside. If you can provide some extra information on what is causing all of this inner turmoil and change we should be all set. If if this information you are hoping to keep confidential for RP purposes, feel free to PM me (and Taosty/Wit).

To put it simply, it's depression. If there's a cause it's too many to count, and I wouldn't exactly call it a fast track to the dark side. The idea is that she's going to try and fix it, with various levels of success. She isn't going to go straight towards the immoralities of bring Fallen

I greatly appreciate the information. I am going to take the night and think this all over, it is a great character idea and something we don't often see played out. I think it would make sense to include in the profile that she suffers from depression (if she knows it or not). I am taking the extra time to think things over to make sure I fully understand all that this would entail.
