Personality

Pinkerton holds herself with a proper posture, a clear self respect in her self discipline of appearance and manners. She speaks cleanly and eloquently, obviously holding some degree of high standard education throughout her life, regarding others with a typical calm and stoic demeanor upon first contact. However this design of public appearances is clearly a facade for anyone who grows to know her more than a single night or of the offhanded meeting. Pinkerton, upon further inspection, is a cut and dry case of what some would describe as a mad artist. Shockingly devout to her work and ideals, sleep and reason is forgone for days simply to see projects and thoughts through to some state of completion. Dressing in fine, but often dark clothing, she shows a clear favor of more ornate and royal designs in her clothing.

Pinkerton holds a serious dislike of cybernetics, despite crafting and producing numerous versions of cybernetic limbs and augmentations. She holds no one other than herself to the belief that a cybernetic shouldn't be used when one can adapt without it.

Pinkertons sleep is often interrupted, assuming she holds any sleep at all. A frequent night owl and insomniac, she both dreads and awaits the dreams that rest just beyond her shut eyes. Vivid nightmares plague her dreams, and among these horrible sights lay the essence of her torment, great visions of wondrous design, creations and paintings of scope and components she immediately understands, but often times something is left in the vestiges of her mind, leaving her hopeless with an unfinished work. In the uncommon times that she lacks dreams or holds good dreams, she can often sleep for the majority of a day, catching up on lost time.

Pinkertons relationships show a strong history of detachment and an odd, vicious cycle of company. On one hand she desperately craves human interaction and connection, needing the company and empathy of others on a very primal level, but at the same time she proves terrified of such connection, not out of fear of injury, but the concept of opening up to others and having people be there is so foreign and confusing that she can't help but push it away out of fear.

History

Ari was born into the wealthy Pinkerton family, a large business oriented family that favored teaching its children manners and respect from a young age, as well as granting them the best education they could afford. Ari was, from a young age, always exceptionally bright, showing quick and often easy mastery of the various subjects she was guided to study. Above all, however, her skills shined in three main fields, mechanical and electronic work, as well as the artistic endeavor of painting. Unfortunately, an accident at a young age left Ari missing her right arm. Aside from her refusal to wear cybernetics, it seems to do very little in terms of slowing her down.

From a young age, however, Ari proved restless, unsatisfied with the limits of the education she was receiving. She began special lessons with various tutors, namely two of which she held a great deal of respect for, believing them to have guided her through the curses of her nightmares. Otar, an artist, taught her the concepts of art from a young age, giving her the outlet to describe her thoughts and display her emotions, developing further into the ability to create detailed and abstract portraits. Kograc, an engineer, taught her the essence of mechanics and cybernetics, the core principles of robotics and electronics. Both of them led her into her inventive position, shaping her into someone who coped with her problems by creating physical representations of her mind.

It wasn't much longer until the nightmares started, shifting her life for the worse. At first Ari did not complain about them, thinking them temporary, but they grew in both frequency and in severity. Once a week became most days of the week, and the disgruntled visions became horrid terrors that left her gasping for air, drenched in cold sweat in the middle of the night. Confessing the events and the worries of what they meant to her family, she was taken to numerous doctors, who could neither diagnose nor treat the plagues of her mind. It became the first black spot in her history, the day something changed that she could never label, a curse that afflicted her that no doctor could treat. She began to shift from her family as the nightmares began to include them in the torturous sights. But the pains inflected on them was never caused by the dark things that tortured Ari, rather it was Ari herself who harmed the ones she loved.

Deep and dark circles under her eyes began to become a permanent fixture, even in the touched up images of the family. As she grew in adolescence, she truly began to explore and chase after the visions that accompanied her nightmares, combating the lucid moments with days of restless work. Even as the oddball of the Pinkerton family, she was well liked and respected for her talents, even with her quirks.

Ari, even with the support of others, proved volatile in her visions, believing herself unimportant, if not outright damaging to the family, thinking they'd be better off without having to care for someone like her. She moved from her family home, keeping loose, often unpredictable connection with the family that reached out to her. While her sales of paintings and inventions kept her afloat, a majority of her work never saw the light of day, never passing the quality inspection of her own eyes. Left alone, her habits became self destructive, with no one to keep her sleep in check.

Ari had wealth in her family home, but wealth was not what she needed. She desired knowledge, information that would complete the broken visions in her mind, and believed that only experience outside of her sphere of knowledge could complete her dreams, and thus her creations. The first step was to begin moving outward, into the unknowns of the Galaxy.

Hey there! Profile looks good, but you'll need to pick a specific pistol and ship from the tech boards.

Otherwise, Approved!
