Most Children look to the stars for their future, in the case of many children of the City built over the sea of Corellia, Coronet City, it is only a pipe dream for the kids to distract themselves with. Arie Matsuba was one of the many children who sought after this dream of flying through the stars, only to find herself face first in the dirt in the slums that surrounded the Sith Empires shipyards. She wasn't an orphan like most the kids of Corellia. Her mother worked in the shipyards working on the imperial Star destroyers, while her father was a useless drunk. Arie to make up for her father's lack of a job, she found some work with one of the smaller syndicates that worked in the shadow of the White Worms. She was, as she would put it, a "lifter" of supply shipments from the Shipyards. A few flux convertors there, a handful of conversion modules there, no one ever noticed the small things going missing from the crates, that's where she made her exploits in the rat holes of Coronet City.

Arie commonly followed her mother to work, both to get her hands on small bits of incoming shipments only to hide them around the far edge of the facility to collect later and sell to the fences through the syndicate, but she had other reasons for following her mother. It was to learn as much as she could about the ships they built in the shipyards. Arie was especially interested in the Crux-class Starfighters that were built for the empires sith marauders, with a class four hyperdrive built-in. it was like a dream to be so close to a star striding ship… she knew it was impossible to get a chance to fly one without being a sith, let alone a member of the Sith Empire, but she couldn’t bring herself to leave her mother alone with her dead beat father. Her mother was all she had, she remembered a time when her dad wasn’t home very often, but eventually he was stuck in the house almost never moving from his seat, as such she was mostly raised by her mother, her mother is one of the many reasons she takes such interest in the smaller fighter class spacecraft

Life was mostly uneventful for the young star chaser, though that didn’t stay true for long. As when she turned seventeen, she was finally able to gain her workers permit and work in the shipyards with her mother, no longer did she work for the small crime syndicate, that had now been devoured by the White Worm syndicate. She would show a blind eye when it came to her noticing “lifters” take supplies to give to Lady Proxima, head of the White Worm syndicate, sadly it wouldn’t be long before she found herself before Proxima. Aries's mother had gotten older and subsequently sicker as she continued to overwork herself, as such she had become almost completely bedridden, leaving Arie alone to work in the shipyard. With the increasing medical costs for the medicine, her mother needed as well as her dead-beat dad taking up space, Arie had to make ends meet, and the only way to make it work was to get caught back up in the crime Syndicates.

During a cold night after work at the shipyard, she followed one of the young “lifters” back to the sewer to try and gain council with Lady Proxima. Being a giant gutter worm you would think we could go anywhere in this sea-bound city of pipes, but it’s almost ironic how she is trapped to be in the sewers for all of her life only to send out her similar kin to act as armed enforces for the rug rats. No one except those men and the rug rats who work for her gain council in her chamber, as for anyone other than that, it would be considered an honor to peer into the crime fueled heart of the city of Coronet, Lady Proxima. Arie used her small size and basic espionage skills she used when she was still a “lifter” to find her way into her chambers, following a crowd of rug rats of all ages to slip into the fold as she would emerge from her pool only to stare straight through Arie. Within an instant, Arie was already caught by the wrists by one of Proximas guards, dragged to the center to stare down the mother of the underbelly. Proxima slowly looked Arie up and down to notice her Imperial shipyard uniform, realizing Arie was the ticket she needed to get off this rock. “Ahhh, so a mouse finds itself lost among the rats! What brings you a little mouse? If t wasn’t for my well-trained dogs I wouldn’t have caught you!” She said pointing to the children that had given her up, their allegiance was still with her. “Now then speak before I have your tongue ripped out!” Before Arie made Proxima become Impatient and act on her words she would speak. “I’ve come to ask for your favor! In return... I offer both my life and skills for you to use how you see fit!”

The room was silent for what felt like forever until she would finally lift her head and speak to the young Arie. “What is it you require from me for such work? Freedom? Fake Passports? Or is it something more personal?” Arie thought for a moment, of averted by the offer for freedom, or better yet the passport! She could leave the slums and find a better life for herself, maybe even fly through the stars one day, it was the only dream she ever had, to leave. Conflicted now to pick between saving her mother and her dream, she knew the right answer, but it wasn’t what she wanted to answer anymore. “Let me think about my wish, for now, I’m not sure anymore what I need from you. If it’s a deal, then you can put me to work.” Proxima didn’t reach out a hand, she was a worm, but rather she had one of her men reach out a hand, as Arie grasped his hand the children would holler for a moment only for the guards to turn to shut them up. Proxima would look to one of her guards as they would hand her a small holo message describing her mission details... they planned to steal copies of blueprints for the Cruiser class ships as well as any stock armaments supplied to the shipyard. All Arie needed to do was get ahold of the guard schedule as well as keys to the facilities loading dock gates, as they would perform the raid after she was long out of the shipyard.

In the following days, Arie would realize the events of the next few days would change her life, it’s up to the beholder of her story if it’s good or bad. As she awoke the next day for work she couldn’t help but think she was doing the wrong thing, maybe she really could have made it with just her pay from the shipyard, but deep down somewhere, Arie knew she didn’t truly have that choice, this was her destiny, and only a forthcoming of such. As she made her way to work she would quickly abandon her post as an engineer and fade into the crowds of works to slowly make her way towards the control tower where the guards stayed most times throughout the workday, she needed to find a distraction or something to thin out the guards in the tower. Looking around one of the cruisers she found a hand full of fuel cases waiting to be loaded into the ship's reactor. Thinking for a moment she quickly would pull the handle on the crate opening it revealing the highly volatile fuel, for a moment she thought there must be another way, and then the small vial was already flying towards the ship, as soon as it made contact with oxygen the compound destabilized and exploded in the ship causing that wing of the facility to be almost engulfed in flames as the other fuel capacities spread across the facility exploded. As she probably did too much for the distraction, she quickly would creep to the tower avoiding any and all guards who would definitely be on red alert, as she reached the tower she would slowly enter from the lower level, not knowing where or how to get ahold of any of the things she was tasked to collect, but they both had to be here, just a matter of finding it.

She needed to get out as fast she could, but she couldn’t leave without what she came for, quickly without thinking about it, she moved through the facility climbing the tower to find herself In the lieutenants quarters. He must have left with the rest of the troops to figure out what’s going on outside, using this opportunity she was able to grab his keys as well as snag one of the guard schedules for the next week and slip out without anyone noticing she was even there. As she left the facility she faded back to the crowd that had circled the building when the fire and explosions broke out. With her ticket to get the money she needed for her mother in hand she went to see Proxima almost immediately to turn in the spoils, she had collected in hopes to receive the favor of Lady Proxima. She didn’t speak directly to Proxima, only turned in the key and guard schedule to her guards, as they subsequently sent her on her way to return when Proxima felt up to speaking again.

After she left Proxima’s den, she went to see her mother before she told Proxima her decision on her favor. As she arrived home she went for the door, but something was most definitely wrong, the door had been busted down as well as none of the lights were on, quickly de rushed into her home in search of her mother, as well as any proof of what happened, the house was a mess, torn to shreds with blaster fire, there were signs of a struggle. She moved for her mother’s room to only find the corpses of her parents, one laying atop the other, with a note scribbled in Corellian left next to their corpses. “Sorry little mouse, but it’s just business, I never intended on granting your wish. So I had my spies follow you, just to tie up some loose ends. You understand how it is, it’s just business! Now you better run, I have my guardsmen waiting for you outside to give us a show... so make it interesting.” Realizing how badly she had messed everything up, if she didn’t deal with such a devil, none of this would have happened, a such she turned to rage, quickly grabbing the closest thing she could find to use as a weapon, which was the leg of a chair, not the greatest weapon but it would do, but as she exited the building through the busted down door she didn’t see any guards, there was no one... silence.

She didn’t want to give her guards a chance to make food on her promise, quickly Arie bolted for the checkpoint, she knew her best bet was to sneak through and make it in an outbound ship to the outer rim colonies, anywhere was better than Corellia. She made her way to the checkpoint, nothing in her hands only her clothes on her back. As she walked in she noticed it was almost completely locked down after that stunt she pulled, quickly noticing people take face screenings as well as ID checks, there was no way she was getting out of here, especially if she is going to be held back for working at the shipyard, but there was another option. She saw the Sith Empires recruitment office was letting anyone in, no ID required, they were taking what they could get. Arie didn’t think twice as she quickly walked up to the recruiter's window and rang a small bell on the counter as she watched the man turn to look at her, and turn away, She would ring it once more this time she seemed to have caught his attention. “I would like to join the Empire, as a pilot...” he looked at her and laughed, “I doubt you will last a week in the flight academy, your name?” She quickly responded with “Arie, sir” he sat silent for a moment then spoke again, “full name ma’am.” She wanted to leave this shit hole of a planet behind, which meant leaving the traces ornaments her here as well, she no longer would use her given surname Matsuba, rather she chose a name to reflect her past. “Arie Kusatta, Sir!” She said with a bit of ignorant confidence, leaving the only home she had... for a road laid in the corpses of those who have taken it before her.

As soon as she entered the academy she became well versed in both the sort ornate politics side of the empire, while also experiencing the intense combative training regiment that all base recruits must go through to even enter the battlefield, but she made it her top priority to graduate basic with high marks so she could subsequently get into the Flight Academy on Carida, one of the greatest known Empire military bases, known for producing some of the more elite pilots of the Sith Empire. Within time she was already being stationed on a cruiser till the further notice of deployment would be sent down through the chain of command. it wasn't long before she was deployed as an escort interceptor for transport ships between the main cruiser and the Military base on Kessel, though she was stationed during the onslaught of the battle between the Sith Empire and the Mandalorians. during this time many of both the supply ships and Reinforcement drop ships where being attacked by the Mandalorian blockade that made it almost impossible to get supplies to the Empire's troopers who needed it on the ground of the planet. she was mostly tasked as being fodder to let the supply ships get through the blockade and get close enough to the surface to drop the supplies into the base, but she had no intention of dying or letting any of the supply ships she was protecting to be damaged in any way.

during supply runs, the empire would deploy small light interceptors from the cruiser with the Freighter class ships carrying the supplies, as soon as they left the range of the cruiser's guns, the ships would be attacked by the Mandalorian fighter class ships, normally picking off the lighter classed fighters with ease, then just hammering the shields of the supply ship until it ultimately pops. Arie being a bit smarter when it comes to tactics knew that even Vexatious fighter has much stronger blaster, but they lack protection and re quickly destroyed making them utterly useless, rather Arie was inclined to prefer the reflex Class starfighters which can easily take multiple hits before being destroyed. allowing her to easily maneuver around the Mandalorian ships and destroy them before they dealt any major damage to the supply ships, though the Empire inevitably lost Kessel as their troops simply can't compare to the Mandalorians in combat skills. though her show of superior flight capabilities and tactical thinking she was promoted to Lieutenant.

Arie wasn't a very big fan of politics, but when Imperial Republica and the Old Empire united to form the Sith Order, she was directly affected as such of those events, she wasn't especially joyful about the sudden change in management with some of her superiors, but what truly brought her down was the weakness that had been caused by the solidarity, which allowed the Mandalorians to take more of their territory, including Corellia. As her home world was taken, she took it a bit hard but quickly realized that this finally gave her the chance she had wanted for so long to watch the city of Coronet to burn back into the sea where it belonged, but now all she could do was await order to come down the chain of command once more, as they sat within Sith Empire controlled space.

In her youth, she had dreamed of flying through the stars in search of adventure, though that dream had been put on the back burners when she had been grounded by the action made against her on Corellia by the Crime syndicates that call the sewers their home. after leaving their clutches and losing her parents and only material attachments to Corellia it almost caused something to click inside her, not turning her cold like most who lose it all, rather she wiped the memory of the events that took place that night, it was only a side effect of the events, to protect her from the trauma itself. when you throw in the intense training she experienced at basic, it made her into the perspective and free speaking loose cannon she is. her lack of purpose in life only made space for the Empire's influences. that was her purpose now, she became a soldier through and through. Be it murder or indiscriminate crimes against humanity, she didn't care as it all meant serving towards her purpose. Besides all the obvious loyalty she has for the empire for taking her in and treating her like family, even though it's an army they are still connected socially and have lives off the battlefield.

During her free time on the cruiser, She is commonly found tinkering on either her Reflex-Class Starfighter or other ships around the cruiser as she was well versed in their internals having worked in a shipyard, mostly just keeping them in prime condition when they are needed for a mission. Past dealing in mechanics around the ship she also indulges herself with more personal activities, that surprisingly haven't gotten her lynched. one of the many activities she likes to partake in while on the ship are common trips to the gun range, an easy way to blow of steam as well as better increase her accuracy with her standard blaster weapons. Arie isn't describable as a social butterfly, often taking solace during times when she is alone, one of the many reasons she does so well in single person pilot starfighters. though her hobbies are pretty common for troopers on the cruiser, it's been said she has a rather... unpleasant personality.

Arie is the spitting image of a smart ass, a blunt-edged one at that! if she knows your wrong, she will make sure you know she knows your wrong. Though she lacks the ability to both use sarcasm properly as well as understand it, making her come off as a snarky jerk to even some of her superiors, which has gotten her into trouble on many occasions. the several times she has been thrown in the brig for talking back to her commanding officer, well let's just say you could count a centipedes legs and still not come close to the number. Even with being such a bear on her superiors her skill and an overall superior analytical mind are what keeps her from being court marshaled and dishonorably discharged, or worse. She still enjoyed messing with her other troops and officers with her poor form of sarcasm and moderately dry humor, even though she was voted most likely to be court marshaled before they die on the battlefield.

@Lare Bear The formatting I see is done pretty well so good job on that. I do have a couple points though.

First and foremost, this read more or less like a retelling of Solo's origin. You've got your down-on-your-luck destitute corellian character scrapping to get by with the White Worms. Specifically mentioning Lady worm-face. Trying to "buy her way out of the life" and getting into a harry situation where she tries to go join the empire at the checkpoint that mirrors what Han Solo did up until that point.

The White Worms is a (relatively) small time criminal organization that exists in the Galactic Empire Era and so this time period being about 6000 years prior I don't think they would exist. Though that can just be changed to some other non-specific gang if you want. Also specifically mentioning Lady Proxima is probably going to need to be changed since the current time period. Even Jabba was less than a thousand years old and he was a species that was specifically known for their longevity.

The battles of Kessel, and more specifically the one where the Mandalorians first took the planet, was not a battle of attrition or cutting off supply lines. It was more or less a sweeping take over and decisive victory for the mandalorians.

The line "Though she lacks the ability to both use sarcasm properly as well as understand it, making her come off as a snarky jerk to even some of her superiors, which has gotten her into trouble on many occasions" Makes it sounds like she does in fact know how to use sarcasm properly though perhaps not wisely.

Usually if someone gets thrown in the brig that much they aren't given the privilege of piloting a ship. Chances are Arie would have been dropped in rank and made a simple infantry conscript if she were thrown in brig repeatedly. If a commanding officer punishes one of their officers and they continue to act out they will start taking more extreme measures instead of continuing to give the person the same punishment that doesn't seem to be working.

Bottom line: It would more or less require a total rewrite of her early back story otherwise I'll go ahead and archive this character profile for being a clone of Han Solo. I didn't do that just because of the large amount of her backstory you wrote but if you would rather start from scratch with a new character concept then I can archive this and you can start fresh. Let me know what you would like to do.
