It would come as a shock to most of his fellow Imperials to know that Ashr Kaasi's adoptive mother was a Twi'lek. Raised in the grimiest pits of the Coruscanti underworld, Ashr was taught three things as a child: How to speak multiple languages (Twi'leki, naturally, was his first language). How to survive. And how to slice. His adoptive mother was, after all, Rin Corssa. In many circles she had grown infamous for her uncanny slicing ability, not to mention for the one time she may or may not have deceived a particularly pompous Hutt into swallowing a thermal detonator. (He made an ugly remark about her species. It wasn't her day.)

Ashr, in many ways, inherited his mother's recklessness and charisma, when he was a young and talented slicer. However, after his mother's sudden disappearance due to a hefty bounty placed on her head, Ashr abandoned the surname Corssa for his own safety. At only seventeen he was left by his mother to fend for himself. This was a large hit to him emotionally, and he soon was plagued by nihilistic, pessimistic thoughts. It was during this time of being utterly emotionally lost, going from job to job, slicing for crooks just so he could get enough credits to eat, that he met Seerva Kaasi. She was human, or close to it, and a slicer: she could match or even top Ashr's skills with computers. And, after an array of late nights sharing stories of jobs gone bad and the few memories of family they had left, he soon realised he was falling for her.

Sure enough, the two grew ever closer as they worked many slicing jobs as an inseparable team. They moved in together after they'd pooled enough credits for somewhere a little higher class than the underworld they both grew up in. Seerva soon fell pregnant with Ashr's first daughter. Following this, the two began studying psychology, a shared interest, at a small university (whilst working full-time jobs) in attempt to find more honourable careers they could use to provide for their child. When Ryn Seerva Kaasi was born, Seerva became a full time mother, leaving Ashr to continue his studies. But the fees for tuition grew too much, and they needed money from somewhere. Seerva convinced Ashr they'd run one last slicing job together, before giving it up for good. The reckless twenty-four year old that he was agreed.

It would be the greatest mistake of his life.

The job went bad. Really, really bad. They had intended on stealing only as many credits as they needed to get by. But the bank they were robbing from was hit by a rebel terrorist attack at just the wrong time. In the chaos of the blast, Seerva was hit. "Seerva, please, please... don't go..." Kneeling by her side, he put his hand on the wound and hummed a little tune as his courage puddled on the ground. The wound was over her heart. Tears streamed down his face, dripping from his lips and spattering against the pavement beside her. "You have to be alright... I need you, I— I can't take care of our little girl alone."

"Yes," Her words were almost incoherent through her sobs, and he knew she was too tough to be crying because of the pain. "You can." She blinked away the tears— "Stay soft, Ash. I love..." —and choked on her last breath.

He couldn't breathe properly for years.

. . . .

"Daddy don't cry, it'll be alright..."

He didn't realise he had been crying again. Five years since she died. Yet it still felt like yesterday, always felt like yesterday. His memories of that day were the one thing he could never run from. He looked over at little Ryn. Growing so fast. Far too mature for her age.

He closed his eyes and held her tight.

. . . .

It became increasingly hard to stay soft as he aged. The world grew ever darker without the love of his wife, and while he'd become a highly respected psychologist, he felt entirely empty. Every day, he couldn't help but ache, and think, we were supposed to grow old together. But he raised his daughter well, or as well as a single father could. And although they had their issues, he loved her immensely, and she loved him back. She also inherited her mother's brilliant mind, earning a scholarship at the prestigious Hanna University at just seventeen, and moving out one year after that.

At fourty-two, Ashr had nothing left that mattered to him. Only pain, only the memory of the terrorist attack that killed his wife. That was when he decided he would fight for the progress of the Republica, to snuff out any terrorists before they deal the irreversible damage they're clearly so capable of dealing. Because no one should ever have to feel like this, feel this pain. And two years of training in Imperial academy later, he applied for Imperial special ops, detailing his many years of slicing experience. He proposed they pardon him for his crimes, in exchange for his sworn allegiance to the Republica. They accepted the terms. Kaasi was immediately assigned a role as an Imperial agent, specialising in slicing, and was plunged into the field for his first mission. . . .

Above all, Ashr Kaasi strives to be the good guy. Even though his morals aren't quite up to the same standard as perhaps they should be (given his sketchy upbringing), he is aware of this and does his best to compensate. He has also matured significantly since the reckless days of his youth, and is now quite reserved, although more than willing to take the lead if necessary. He prefers to quietly observe his surroundings before taking action, quickly analysing the people around him to give himself the upper hand in any social situation. On the contrary, as soon as danger erupts, he attempts to calculate the sequence of events that will most likely lead to survival for as many non-hostiles as possible. Even at gunpoint, Kaasi will prefer negotiation and attempt to outwit his opponent psychologically over fighting back. Also, learning from the greatest mistake of his life, if he disagrees with something, he will make that abundantly clear: often to the displeasure of his peers and overseers.

Ashr does not make friends easily. On first sight he will often seem arrogant, or narcissistic. However, this possibly couldn't be farther from the truth, and those few people he does care for, he will protect with his life. And while he may look much older than the majority of his peers, on the inside, Ashr Kaasi is still just a boy trying to be a good man, and make life better for as many people as he can.

LEGACY

EQUIPMENT
Light Duraplast Armor
—Beneath Ashr's all-business attire, he dons light duraplast armour covering his chest and back. These are salvaged bits of Ranger Scout Armor from his younger years as a slicer in the Coruscanti underworld.

MH55 Blaster Pistol
—Three ammo clips.
—While Ashr avoids blaster combat at nearly all costs, he keeps this sidearm in case it is ever absolutely necessary. However, even though he may despise unnecessary violence, his knowledge of both human and xenopsychology means he won't hesitate to shoot first, if, and only if, he determines lives are at stake.

Ashr Kaasi's Port Scanner
—Ashr's slightly-dated, generic Port Scanner.

Vengeance in the Twilight — In Agent Kaasi's first field mission, he is assigned with a Togrutan pilot, a xenophobic commander and several others to help slice into one of the Old Empire's biggest bases on Kashyyyk. Upon the operations success, Kaasi was awarded enough compensation in credits to purchase the necessary materials for a slicing device of his making.

Sorry if I missed anything! Please let me know what I need to change, I'm still a little shaky on basically everything, but hopefully I can get this looking ship-shape and get Kaasi into all sorts of RPing. Thanks heaps!

Also, if you want to RP with Kaasi, please don't hesitate to hit me up on Discord, reply here, or DM me. I'm pretty literate, and I really look forward to RPing with you ^^

Sounds great! The two seem like they'd really work well together, especially given Ashr's quiet anti-humanocentric values, and the fact they seem to compliment each other's weaknesses. Friend request sent on Discord :P
