Asha Seren sat within one of the isolated training spheres upon the Light of the Force. Her eyes were closed, her breathing calm and collected, even like a steady rhythm. Within her hands she held a small cube which pulsated eerily with the Living Force. For once there was a smile upon the young girls lips, as though all cares were removed from her. The room itself was rather bland, enough space to train but little else visible save a handful of kendo sticks along one wall. Finally the young girl opened her eyes and flowed the Force from her palms into the pulsing cube which glowed into life, projecting forth the form of someone she once knew.

Greetings, Jedi; If this is in the hands of another, then you must be Asha. I apologise for my abrupt departure, young one, but I hope this token will aid you in your future advances. Use it wisely.

The sight of her former mentor was a spectacle to behold, yet Asha was not one to forget the reason she did something. She spoke clearly to the holo-image of Levi Windrage;

"I wonder if you have any instructions on Force Barrier or Shield, Master Windrage?"

As if genuinely hearing her, the holo-image smiled, before replying it's pre-configured speech;

Force Barrier and Force Shield, of course; we will begin momentarily.

With that Asha set her sights to her former mentor and awaited an introduction to the two protective forms she sought to learn.

Reland walked into one of of the training rooms that he thought was available for use. He walked in the room and as the door closed he noticed a small girl off to the side of the room sitting next an object with a hologram over it. Reland knew it was a holocron however he had never used one himself before. "I am so sorry. I thought this room was unoccupied. I shall find another room. My name is Reland by the way. Once again I am sorry." Realizing that he had taken too long with his apology he awkwardly turned to walk out. All of the other rooms were being used at the time as well. Perhaps he would have to come back at another time.

Asha's gaze snaps away from Levi to the boy who entered. "W-Wait" she said, unsure on why she did so. "This is an open room... You... You can come in." She didn't know whether he would find what she was about to study interesting or not, yet at the same time it was polite to ask. Besides if he needed space she was only a small girl and there was a lot of space. As she said this, however, Levi began to speak;

Force Shield; a defensive technique through which one can create a shield to hold off attacks used through the Force. It does not ward off melee damage, purely that which is Force based. Do you wish to begin?

He was about to politely decline when he heard the hologram begin to speak. Away to defend against Force attacks? He had learned the basics Force Based attacks and he excelled at far more than he did with a lightsaber combat but had not learned any purely defensive abilities yet.

He turned back around and said with a smile " I would very much like to hear what you are learning and maybe we can help each other out? You will more than likely teach me far more than I can teach you" Reland was used to training with those young than him, in fact, there had been many times where he was bested by someone younger due to him being so new in the Order.

He walked over to the girl and the hologram. "Do you mind if I have sit?" he asked before he sat down. The girl seemed very timid and he did not want to do anything that would make her feel uncomfortable but was still eager to learn more on the topic she was apparently studying.

She beckoned him over to her and nodded when he asked to sit, turning her attention back to Levi's apparition through the holocron. "Yes, Master Windrage, I'd like to begin" She said in her almost-silent voice, and while the holocron responded she turned her gaze to Reland. "I am Asha" she said, and half bowed her head in respect as a formal manner of greeting. The visage of Levi Windrage then continued to speak;

The official name is Force Resistance; this stops the user from feeling the effects of Force-Based moves, be them physical or mental, effectively absorbing the Force to render it obsolete. You will be required to draw upon the Living Force to encapsulate yourself within it, forming a barrier between yourself and the attack. However, the difference between this and barrier is that instead of simply deflecting the shield absorbs the used Force. This requires a great deal of focus on your part, young one, so begin first practising with another who is able to control the level at which their Force attacks strike you. Patience and practise is the key; soon it will become as natural to you as breathing.

Reland sat down and returned her slight bow with one of his own and a smile and then listened as the image of the Jedi Master explained the skill they would be learning. After the Jedi finished speaking he looked up at Asha "They never let us sit down for these sorts of things" he gave a short laugh as he began to stand up and walk away from the holocron. "Now, since I barged in on your training session I will let you choose which one of us gets to try first."

He walked about 10 feet away from the other Padawan while she decided. He took off his outer brown Jedi robe off as he still was not comfortable moving around in it and he felt it inhibited his movement. Reland was very excited to begin. He took a deep breath as he began to calm his mind and went of the Jedi Master's words in his head.

She lightly rose from the ground, and bowed over to his body when he settled into place, ever respectful of those who were of the Order, in truth respectful of all. Jedi respect all life, in any form the New Jedi Code rang within her mind, causing the girl to smile. As ever it sounded as though Levi was speaking directly to her, despite it being her own conscious thought. "I... I'd like to try?" She says, uncertainly, trying to gather all the pieces of the puzzle at once while drawing on the calmness and the nexus of light which she held within in order to project it outwards, ready to form it into something of use. A protective shield, which absorbs... the young girl thought, yet she knew it would be much more difficult than Levi made it out to be; always the optimist.

He gave her a moment to prepare herself. Neither one of them really knew what exactly to do. Once she looked like she was ready, He took a deep breath and outstretched his right hand sending out a push with the Force towards the other Padawan. It was not a strong push but enough for her to feel if the barrier was unsuccessful. He waited about two seconds and sent two lighter pushes out towards her in quick succession.

He then stopped and gave her time to recover. Learning a new skill could be...difficult and they were not given the most detailed instructions on how to manifest these powers, but he was sure they would be able to figure it out together. She seemed quiet but somehow he felt she was capable. He was glad she let him train with her.

"So tell me what happened" he asked her wanting to get her experiences before he tried it himself. This was the benefit from learning together. They did not have to make all the mistakes them selves and could learn from the successes and failures of the other.

She felt the first push hit against her chest, almost purposely in order to know what she was up against, before expelling the Force outwards from her body. She wasn't entirely certain whether it would work yet before she knew it two more blasts were sent her way, the first causing her to stumble and yet somehow the Force was with her for the second; she reached out instinctively through the Force and felt a change in the air around her. The third push never reached her, yet the air rippled slightly. The young girl's face was very strained, yet a smile appeared upon it all the same. "Tiring" she muttered to herself, having forgotten how difficult it could be learning a new Force power. Then she turned her gaze to Reland. "Tricky to understand... I think you need to try it... And don't be scared to be hit..."

He gave a slight nod and closed his eyes refocusing his mind and visualizing forming a wall between him and his training partner. He opened his eyes and gave a slight nod as he dropped into a defensive stance. He waited for attack as the room around him dropped away leaving only him and the girl in his mind. He had the image but couldn't afford to bring up before the attack came. He breathed in and out as the words ran through his mind "one can create a shield to hold of attacks used through the Force" and he waited..

Asha barely moved her left hand before emitting a tightly controlled Force Push, making sure it did not strike him too hard. She waited for a few moments to see if he managed it before emitting two slightly stronger pushes at him, almost certain that he would find it within himself to hold off the attacks, after all he was older than she with more experience over the Force, Asha only had a year under her belt, and most of that had been spent in solitude and silence. "You okay..?" she asked, afterwards, not wanting to have hurt him in any way.

He felt draw the force before she move her hand in anyway but he still held off. He know he could hold a shield for a few seconds if he could make one at all. As soon as belt felt her release her attack he threw up both hands in front of him as a light blue glimmer appeared in front of him. He felt the shield absorb the first two attacks but felt it shatter as he gasped for air when the third push hit him. He was caught of valence by the drain it had put on him to produce the shield and he fell back words.

She was strong but it didn't stop Reland from being embarrassed that he was put on the ground by a small child. He gave a small laugh as he stood up. "I guess I am alright" he said as felt the ache in his back begin to start. "I think I had it at first but I could not hold it for the third attack" he reminded himself that 4 months ago he didn't know he was force sensitive and that all things take time.

She smiled gently to him in encouragement. "Sorry! I didn't expect you to defend straight away. It's tiring, but if we keep practising..." She trailed off a little, and raised a hand to rub the back of her neck. Reaching into her robes she slipped her hand into the small pocket she'd sewn on the interior and brought out some leaves which she then proceeded to place in her mouth. The majie leaves would help boost her energy levels, but all the same she needed a little more respite; for someone her age to be using a form of telekinesis straight after attempting a new Force power was very taxing. "We should try again, just... Give me a minute"

"Take your time" he said with a smile. He was already recovering but he sat down anyways. "How long have you been training as a Jedi?" he asked filling the silence in the room while they rested. She was young nut she was still strong. He wish he was given the same early start as she was but he had started earlier than some as well. Young Jedi were needed more than ever now if the Order was to continue. He had recovered anymore but stay seated until she responded and indicated she was ready. A master my have chosen to push them but Reland didn't not want to chance hurting themselves out of ignorance.

Asha finally caught back her breath and her energy, and simply nodded to indicate she was ready. "Officially, only a few months" the little girl said, although her training had begun just over a year ago. "I'm ready now" Now that she knew what to expect Asha thought that she might have a better chance at lasting longer this time, as well as actually managing to uphold a shield for a longer length of time. Time, patience and practise, the keys to learning new things.

He jumped back up and waited for her to indicate she was ready. Once again he drew the Force in like taking in a deep breath. Once she had indicated to began he quickly shot out 5 quick burst of power. None of these were exceptionally strong but would be felt if not blocked. Then he tried something different. He pulled on her using the Force. He didn't know if a barrier would block that or not but he wanted to see if it could. The pull would only be enough to make someone loose their valence and wasn't strong enough to cause someone to fall over. He then stopped and waited for her to return the attack.

She stood a few feet away from him and signalled that she was ready to begin. The first push hit her and caused her to stumble but by this point she managed to expell the Force from her body in the form of an absorbing Force Shield which batted away the remaining blasts of Force. She kept the Force flowing into the shield to ensure it didn't break, effectively refreshing it every few seconds, which was draining, very draining, yet it paid off. She felt something else in the air around her, the use of the Force, yet she remained unmoved by whatever it was; all she was certain of was that it wasn't a push. She gave herself a moment to catch her breath before dissipating the Force into the area around them to remove her shield. Then she moved her hand ever so slightly, not enough for it to be noticeable, and sent 4 consecutive pushes at his body.

Once again he raised his hands again, he wasn't he needed to but it help him picture the shield in his mind. The shield formed slower this time allowing the first of the blast hit him square in chest but once agin the blue shimmer in the air formed absorbing the next three blows. He didn't stop to catch his breath but ran to Asha's right while letting out three bursts towards the younger Padawan. It was time to turn it up a little. These pushes we're harder but not at full strength. She was around the same skill level with him in the Force and it would be foolish to underestimate just based on size.

She saw him running at her and instinctively raised a shield to defend against whatever he had in store; the truth being that she didn't know what he planned, and for all she knew it could have been physical non-force damage. Luckily for Asha they were Force pushes, yet they were more powerful than she had bargained for, causing the shield to 'shatter' under the pressure of the final one, knocking her back a good few feet. With a half-grunt the young girl found her balance and instantly emitted several powerful, yet controlled, force pushes back at him.

His first instinct was to roll out of the way but decided that would defeat the point of the lesson. He really just wanted to practice using the barrier while moving he was able to block the first push but lost his concentration between running and putting the shield up. The last push knocked him off balance but he went into a roll and came back up on his feet. He reached out pulling on her left leg with the Force. He breathed in heavily. He didn't think he could manage making another shield but gathered his strength for one last attempt. He stood breathing heavily. His hair was covered in sweat and he had to push his hair out of his face.
