Standing inside one of the many vast rooms found within the confides of the Jedi safe house, Minion Holphee was meditating in hopes of seeking perfect union with the Force. A very hard thing to do, and as such the Jedi Knight had not found a way to perfectly unite with the entity he called the Force. Often, it was taught that once you gained complete harmony with the Force you would be able to do great things. As such Jedi Knight Minion had sought to gain this ever since he was a Padawan, back in the days when the Jedi were in their prime and he was training under his Master, Raleigh. He was told that one of his Master's new students had been commissioned inside the safe house he sought refuge in and was eager to find who this youngling was.

After extensive research on the Padawan he discovered that he was accompanied by his brother, an Initiate inside the Order. He would have to see if this young man would be eager to learn under Knight Holphee's teaching hand. It would be a great fit considering that the Initiate's brother was learning under his former Master. Now, all he had to do was wait for them to get his message to meet him in the exact room he was in.

Tarn was befuddled.

The Jedi safe house was unlike anything he had seen before on Odryn. The building's architecture had interested him. Being used to primarily small villages with thatched huts, the expansive structure was quite alien to him. The hushed, vacant halls were filled only with muffled echoes of his heavy footsteps. Given the peaceful quiet of the place, one would probably hear him quite a ways away.

He looked down at his current ensemble; a pair of large, loosely fitting robes had replaced his old and tattered set of clothing. He liked the change, he felt much more dignified. Well, as dignified as a 275-pound Feeorin awestruck by something as simple as the walls can be. This was the first time he had been away from his home planet; a very unusual event for him. Ever since he had been offered a place within the New Jedi Order he had felt a strange sense of calmness in himself. The unknown Jedi knight who had found him called it the Force, Tarn dismissed it as nothing more than an irritating itch that wouldn't go away. He had much to learn.

He continued diligently down the halls, occasionally pausing to gaze into the open rooms he passed by. He had received a message from a Jedi knight, the former apprentice of Tarn's current master, requesting his brother and he visit him. Feeling a sense of obligation to fulfill this request, he had set off with his brother not too far behind.

After many minutes of wandering through the building, the Feeorin arrived at a room occupied by a lone Wookiee meditating. He stood in the doorway silently for a few seconds, before shouting at the Wookiee. "I am looking for a Jedi knight." The words came out a bit louder than he intended, but they would surely get him the response he desired. He thought over his words for a moment, realizing the question was horribly vague considering he was in an entire safe house of Jedi. "Holphee." he tersely tacked onto the end of his sentence, hoping to narrow down the answer.

After nearly a hour of meditating and trying to commune with the Force, Minion was interrupted by a young man. Most likely the Jedi Padawan he had sent the message to earlier in the evening, though he wasn't sure considering that there was not another Padawan trailing behind him or with him. But, Minion could only assume this was the Padawan Tarn.

A little agitated that he had been interrupted, Minion stood up and brushed off the dust that had been accumulating on him from his time spent in the room. "Your Master would be disappointed in you young one. A proper way for a Jedi to introduce himself is by bowing and greeting the other." Minion then bowed to Tarn to show an example and followed up after the bow by saying, "I am Jedi Knight Holphee." The wookiee looked past the Feeorin looking for his brother, but alas in vain.

"I was told that you had a brother, is he behind you?" Although the wookiee was eager to get to know the knew Padawan of Master Raleigh, he was equally, if not more so, excited to meet his brother.

Tarn stared for a second, realizing his folly. In an attempt to reconcile for the disrespect he had shown to the Jedi he placed his right fist over his heart and bowed; this was a common greeting used back in his village to show respect to the elders. Upon rising, he stared at the Wookiee for a second. He shook his head quickly and repeated as he was instructed, "I am Padawan Tarn." He bowed once again, speaking briskly. "I apologize for my disrespect."

"I was told that you had a brother, is he behind you?"

Tarn looked around the room, noticing it was only the two. Syl must be slower than I believed. he thought to himself. He looked once more at the Jedi Knight, shrugging his shoulders. "He was behind me. Now he isn't." The room had a calming effect, much like the rest of the building. Tarn wasn't sure why, but he simply felt at peace. "He's probably lost." he added, genuinely unsure where his brother could have gone.

He continued to stand in the doorway, watching the Wookiee curiously.

The inside of the Jedi establishment is different, unlike anything the Feeorin was used to. It is quiet, hushed murmurs and distant conversations, it's as if the entire place was enshrouded in an aura of peace and zen. A beautiful thing really, but he has not come here for aesthetics. He has come here for the one they call Minion. Minion Holphee.

After a few twists and turns and even giving a few nods and waves to some passing Jedi; Syl would pass by an open doorway. At first glance there are two figures that stand out. He backtracks a bit and walks in; there stands a Wookie and a Feeorin. Not just any Feeorin.

Smiling isn't his thing, but even he cannot help but feel washed over with happiness at the very sight of his younger brother, Tarn. Syl walked further in and give a curt nod to the hulking Wookie and Tarn. "I am here, brother." He said before returning his gaze to the Wookie. "And you are Minion correct?... Minion Holphee?.." He gives a nonchalant bow, being too prideful for anything further and continued. "I am Syl, I am here seeking your mentorship. I wish to learn the ways of the Force.". He looked over at Tarn and signalled with a slight nod to come and ceremoniously embrace him as they would've on Odryn after a long fought duel.

Minion just stared at Tarn, he obviously had not started his training yet with Master Raleigh. "It seems that you are going to have a rough time with your training, Padawan Tarn." He remembered his first lesson from his Master, don't be cocky. Smiling at the thought of his Padawan years Tarn's older brother came to the room at which he and Tarn were at.

Minion looked at the new person standing beside Tarn, they both seemed to look alike. "I see. I like that you're straight-forward but don't let that get in your way young one." Minion quickly passed by Tarn and inspected Syl. "You seem to have the physical attributes to be a good Padawan, but what I'm curious is if you have the mental ones also." The Wookiee went back into his room and repositioned himself to the way he was before he was rudely interrupted. "You see the body can be easily changed, but the mind and heart are nearly impossible. Tell me of yourself before you blatantly ask to be my Padawn." One of Minion's first teachings as a Padawan was to control his emotions, because without a steady mind nothing else can be steady either.

Tarn went to his brother and grabbed hold of the older Feeorin's forearm, pulling him tightly into a brotherly embrace. They were both finally here. Out and about in the galaxy, as they had always dreamed. Though he had never thought of his future in the Jedi Order, the Feeorin knew only good things could come from it. It was as if this was a fresh start to his new life.

Tarn simply cocked his head at the Wookiee's remarks. Here he was, at the behest of the Jedi knight, and all he has offered were insults and challenges to his ability. He had not even begun his training, how would this Wookiee know of his potential? He felt bitter inside, almost as if he had made the wrong choice. However, a thought pierced his mind. What if this is a test? he thought to himself, still looking blankly at the Jedi Knight who was now back in his meditative stance. The Jedi is trying to test me, see if I'd be a worthy Jedi. Well, I'll find a way to prove it to him. he continued to think. He knew this wookiee was testing him, to see if he would be worthy of being apprenticed to Raleigh.

Tarn gritted his teeth, sighing. He continued to stare at the Wookiee. "I do not fully trust your judgement, Knight Holphee. You have not even witnessed my training. How can you know my potential?" He spoke tersely, emphasizing the first word of each sentence. He knew he was but a Padawan, and this was a Jedi Knight, but he desired some way to prove to the man that he was capable. Tarn looked to his brother for some form of aid in his defense.

The wookiee only looked at the boy as he continued going on. Obviously the Padawan had misinterpreted his remark. Although the Padawan could become a great Jedi one day, he simply now is untrained in the Jedi ways. "Padawan Tarn, you merely misinterprete what I say. Although you seem relatively capable in physique it is your emotions that lack in training. Your display of anger just now have only worsened your cause, but training with Master Raleigh will help you with such things." Although the Jedi are taught that emotions can lead to the Dark Side, Minion was an avid believer of the good it could bring. Displays of joy and such things were often great things. Though the things that follow behind are the problem, but with time you could learn to control those and hide them away.

The Jedi Knight rose from his sitting position as he noticed a figure in the doorway outside of the room. It seemed that they were not alone.

Tarn recoiled, he wasn't expecting such a calm response. His sudden outburst had hardly phased the older Jedi; it gave the Wookiee the chance to offer some insight into what he meant. Tarn thought about the Wookiee's words about his emotions. Feeling slightly ashamed, the Feeorin's eyes drifted towards the ground, then darted left, then back towards the Wookiee.

"What is Master Raleigh like?"

Tarn wasn't sure why he had asked the question; it simply came out of his mouth. His curiosity had simply gotten the better of him. He had never left his planet, let alone heard of these members of the Order. Tarn assumed Raleigh was vastly more powerful and wiser than he was; this was shown by the fact that Raleigh had become a Jedi Master. He was determined to train as hard as he could; pushing his body beyond its limits were something he managed easily. His mind, however, was of a different material. The Feeorin knew he would have to break his habits and form new mentalities as he underwent his training with the Jedi, and he wasn't sure how easily he could manage this.

Tarn continued to stand there, unaware of the figure behind him.

Syl awkwardly stared at the Wookiee before him, slightly biting back the subliminal insult. He grumbled a bit and continued, seeing as though Jedi ways are more...structured, than what he was used to.

"With all due respect.. Knight Holphee? I am capable of undergoing any physical and mental trial you set before me, for I am a strong Feeorin, and one thing we do not do is give up in the face of adversity."

The words rolled off his tongue with a strong sense of pride behind them, hoping to be a stoic role model for Tarn who is also present in the room. The Feeorin shoots a quick glance at his younger brother and then returned his gaze to the Wookiee. He continues on, answering his previous and seemingly condescending question.

"There is not much to me, I have lived for 225 standard years and have only known a life of piracy, violence, and brotherhood...All I have come with is a humble request to be your padawan so that I may become more."

Syl said the words slowly, swallowing a bit of his pride. As honest as the response was, it was painful. He did not have not had much of a life outside of knowing how to kill and how to be strong. He has truly come in search for more, only this time, it is with Tarn that he set out on this great journey with. Syl shakes away the demeaning thoughts and look back up at the Wookiee, curious as to how he would take his honest, yet saddening answer.

Minion looked at Tarn as he displayed signs of shame hinted at the young Feeorin, "Do not be ashamed Padawan Tarn, we all make mistakes, it is learning from them that marks the greatness of ones self." The answer the Jedi Knight had given Tarn was one he was told a long time ago by his old master, Jedi Knight Raleigh. Looking back on his teaching he wished to apply them to both of these young Jedi like Raleigh would.

The strange question asked had struck the curiosity of the Wookiee. "Jedi Knight Raleigh is a strong and wise man. He shapes his Padawan's into true warriors with the blade and strengthens their ties with the Force. He is a very brave man on top of all this and will show you many wonders through the Force." The Wookiee knew this would get Tarn excited so he expected more questions from him.

The older of the two, Syl, showed pride into his race. A great thing but he would have to make sure that this did not go unchecked, "Pride is a very powerful emotion that had lead to the downfall of man great Jedi. For the sake of yourself and everyone around you let that not become a habit, Syl." Adding his name to add a more personal approach to the comment he had made.

"I accept your request, my Padawan." He bowed to his new student and smirked a little as he did so.
