Assault on the Power Generator

To provide Sil and Faresha their opportunity to escape, an assault on the facility will be made by two dapper members of the Sith Brotherhood. Unawares of the war council's bigger plans for this system, their focus is on providing enough of a distraction to keep the full force of the garrisoned Jedi knights away from the prisoners that are trying to escape. Because of the importance of this mission in regards to rescueing the prisoners and destroying the facility, the Warlord of the Sacred Band of Ziost will personnally lead the assault. Although the rescue is essential in the minds of the strike team, the war council is more calculating and sees crippling the Jedi force and relative destruction of the holding facility as a mission success.

Cloaked by the absence of daylight and guided by the soft glow of Garel's two moons an Icarus-class Star Courier had landed a few miles off in the mountains north of the prison facility. It was the only way they had been able to land on this desert world without giving the facility any reason to be alarmed, and while it would've meant a hike for two days under barer circumstances the Courier thankfully carried two speeders in its hold. In those, they set off just before dawn and were confident they'd catch the Jedi sufficiently off guard to rescue their fellows of the Brotherhood.

Heading for the power generator outside the walls were two brothers the warlord preferred to name abominations. One look at created Hades and his four massive arms makes it clear why his fellow Massassi would call him such. Despite the degenorative tone there was a reason for his presence here today, as this creature, created by alchemy, had bested the Sith Lord that had created him and freed dozens of his victims of the Massassi caste and thus the Warlord's own family. For whatever reason, the savior of the Massassi was paired with the scion of the Tabashk, the powerful sorceror Uhrsek was a Kissai whose disdain for the Massassi knew very few equals. Perhaps it was a test, for the monster to work alongside the alchemist, and the Kissai to accept the the monstrous Massassi as an equal.

Whatever the reason, they needed to destroy that generator and kill its guards if they wanted the prisoners to escape.

The days seemed longer when one was assigned to boring guard duties. Kwanli was due for his turn at the newly constructed Garel Prison. Apparently the leaders in all their wisdom had thought an older Jedi with good experience could take one of the first shifts. Needless to say the Wookiee wasn't thrilled to be in such a desolate place for a prolonged period. Some day soon another would come to replace him but for now he was in charge of the generator bunker; not even inside the prison itself where the guards are underground in a nice cool facility. There were others assigned with him who had the unfortunate task of working for an upset Wookiee.

Most of his fellow guards were Antarian Rangers who had semi-permanent postings here. They seemed more content to have a comfortable job watching monitors and looking out the windows. A Jedi like Kwanli was more of a warrior happier when he was productive and doing true good for the Galaxy. The Sith dying was his version of a good deed, but he wasn't doing that here. As the day dragged on the Jedi Knight meditated with his legs crossed right in front of the entrance to the generator room. Trying to calm his mind and go inward was always a challenge when his mind wanted to go to battle.

Vera Rosh had been prisoner of the Sith for months. Through that time, she had lived in what she considered terrible living conditions, and was treated even worse. Torture, interrogations, and mental manipulation. When she had returned, just a few weeks ago, she had to investigate the Jedi holding facilities, to ensure that such harsh regulations were not enforced.

Believing that proper treatment of prisoners was critical, she had taken a brief tour of the facility, and had found herself volunteering to stand guard of the Sith prisoners for some time. For now, she was assigned with a fellow Jedi; a Wookiee named Kwanli. Truth be told, Vera knew Kwanli, she had previously been assigned with the Jedi on Geonosis on a different mission.

She considered the Wookiee a friend, and gave her a friendly smile as the multicolored Togrutan leaned against a wall. On her person were two weapons: her lightsaber pike, and a borrowed heavy blaster pistol. She believed that, should worse come to worse, rudimentary knowledge of it would be handy.

A curious quirk of fate it seems, to be paired with a Massassi, thought Uhrsek with intrigue; he shouldn't be mistaken, he had respect for the Massassi...it was the persecution complex that often sickened him so. Though some remained enslaved, the majority overall were free...what more could they complain about? They were warriors; if they wanted something, then they ought to take it for theirs was the Blood Price. Yet he sat there on his speeder bike, remaining silent as the vehicle sped forth. His braid billowing in the wind, the Kissai kept himself focused on the task at hand. Yet still, he could not help but think of the thoughts at his peculiar partnership with the Massassi; whoever decided on this was either well and truly oblivious to the history between the Sith castes...or perhaps established it as a form of twisted joke; after all, few things are more amusing than watching the Sith Castes

Either way, the ones who made such a decision on such reasonings will be rather disappointed at this; Uhrsek truly cared little about the past. His family had benefited from the conquest of the Sith people, as the Kings of old had done so in the past; it was no different even though it was under the thumbs of outsiders...was that what bothered them so?

The speeder bike whined under the great mass that was Hades. Normal speeder bikes were too small for Hades to properly sit on, but even with the special accommodations made to the bike he was riding, he was surprised the repulsors didn't just give out. He was oblivious to the thoughts going on inside his brother's mind. Having been born of sith alchemy and not even being a full-blooded Massassi, he was not aware of whatever feuds existed between the ancient Massassi and Kissai castes. The two of them were both Sith. Not the Sith who for millennium had been at war with the Jidai, but the Sith who had once laid claim to their homeworlds of Korriban and Moraband.

The horizon sky was beginning to turn a shade of red as they neared the facility housing the power generators. It would seem that the assault would begin at first light. When light met darkness. Just as the Tsis met Jidai.

It wasn't the sound of speeder bikes the alerted Kwanli first. His meditations brought him a greater sense of his surroundings and he could feel the enemy incoming before anything else. It would be hard to say for sure if their intentions were poor, but the Wookiee Jedi knew better than to ignore a feeling. He ran to a bunker window and looked out towards where he had felt beings incoming. Movement on the horizon was rare, but not necessarily a cause for alarm. Dust kicked up as two speeders seemed to be approaching. Possibly locals coming to delivery supplies, ask for help, or something of the like.

That beast, wait, there is no mistaking him.

Flashbacks momentarily flashed through Kwanli's mind as he remembered just a few weeks earlier he had met the large creature on Geonosis that was now heading towards them. The Sith had been trying to hunt Acklay and they had crossed paths. Back then it had simply been tense words and weapons pointed at each other. Now it would be different. This was an attack on a Jedi world that he would defend with more than words. As the two started coming into range, the Wookiee steadied his bowcaster and focused his sights in on the big creature. A big target was usually easier to hit. As soon as he felt the range was adequate, Kwanli fired a single shot aimed for center of mass.

"We have enemies incoming!" he roared right before he let off the shot.

Vera blinked as her companion fired a shot, exclaiming that enemy intruders were attacking. Standing up, she grabbed her pistol from her belt, running to a window next to the Wookiee. Looking outside, she fired several shots at the two speederbikes, none of them accurate. Still, there was a chance, however small, that one might hit the Sith or their vehicles.

Pulling her pistol back into the room, she grabbed her lightsaber pike, taking a deep breath. She had only gotten a brief glance at the two, but she recognized one of them. She had met the large figure on Geonosis, and they had negotiated a temporary truce to prevent an all out battle. This time... This time there wouldn't be a truce.

They still had a few moments before the speeders would arrive. That was enough time. Looking about the room, her eyes stuck on the closed door. Behind it was the generators that powered the facility. Luckily, there were backup generators, so even if the Sith managed to knock out the main generators, the important systems inside the prison would continue to function.

Still, if the generator fell, so did many light systems, and turrets and doors. She had a feeling this wasn't an isolated attack. All they had to do was keep the Sith out, drive them back, maybe kill them if it came down to it. If they did so, escape or rescue would be much harder for however many other Sith were at the main facility.

The round bunker surrounding the room would have to provide enough protection. They had an advantage, defending a zone was typically easier than trying to push an attack. Besides, getting to the generator itself would be extremely difficult with two Jedi on their backs.

"You ready Kwanli? They'll be here any moment."

As they neared the building housing the power generators, Hades felt a presence, no, presences that he had felt before. The two had been there on Geonosis when he had been sent to hunt an acklay. However, he didn't know if these presences were the Wookiee, the Togrutan, or the Trandoshan. He heard a roar and then a bright spot appear in his vision. He leaned to the right, the speeder more than willing to follow his mass, and the blaster bolt zipped past him. Alright, so one of them was the Wookiee. A few more blaster bolts came from the building, but none of them came close to hitting Hades.

He maneuvered the speeder around the bunker, aiming to come in on the opposite side of the guards who had been shooting at him. He drifted around the corner of the building, now on the side that he wanted to be on. A guard with a blaster rifle stood next to the door, and upon seeing Hades lifted the rifle, aiming at him. Hades pushed the button set into the right throttle and the blaster cannon on the front of his speeder opened fire. The guard was blasted off his feet, hitting the ground, dead. He dismounted the bike and grabbed the bag of thermal detonators attached to the side of his bike. The power generators would make a nice explosion, and if any Jedi got in his way... well they'd make a nice explosion too.

As his shot was avoided, Kwanli quickly adjusted his aim and fired one shot at the other speeder pilot wherever they had ended up. The beast was rounding the building to try to get inside quickly. Once he knew the beast wouldn't be in range he jumped down and ran across to the entrance of the bunker. He advantage was in not needing to go around just through so he got there just in time to watch the Antarian Ranger out front get blasted. A quick roar from the Wookiee announced himself to the familiar Sith warrior as he leveled his bowcaster towards him threateningly.

"Leave now or I will be forced to kill you this time, Sith!" he bellowed in Shyriwook not caring if the Sith actually understood him.

Immediately after speaking the Wookiee Jedi fired a shot aimed for the chest once more. The beast didn't seem armed to defend himself and had a bag in his hand. He doubted a shot would kill such a large being but it would certainly hurt enough to turn him away or disable him. If this failed he was ready to either use the force or summon his lightsaber from his belt after a quick drop of the bowcaster. Never again would he allow the Sith out of his sight alive.

Vera's several shots had mostly made their mark. Several hit the speeder that Uhrsek was riding, causing it to fumble and crash to the ground, rider and all. Then moments later, she witnessed the shot from her Wookiee companion fling itself towards the downed Sith. Unless he was able to survive the shot, and make it to the shedhouse, his companion would be left to fend for himself.

After watching this occur, Vera turned towards where the other Sith had gone. Standing next to her companion, her eyes looked over the dead body, then scanned their opponent thoroughly. His hands held no weapons, but instead he held an odd bag, something that she simply felt was off. Whatever was in the bag was not good.

She ignited her blade, holding it in front of her as she built up focus, concentrating in preparation for whatever the Sith might dish out.

Realising the blaster shots were coming for his own speeder faster than he could faster than he could anticipate, Uhrsek saw a chance for useful mayhem on his part. Weaving around the first, more considerably powerful shot, he would let the momentum of the shots knock him off of the vehicle, his armour will have served its purpose in ensuring that he had only suffered the kinetic impacts, whilst the speeder was aimed for where it was going to land. Utilising this as a distraction, the Kissai would then make his way to where his quarry had went. After all, if his opponent believed that he was dead, then he would have a very useful tool indeed, if they were to focus on his fellow Sith. Landing flat on his back with as much a silenced "oomph" he could muster; he also knew his armour was out for the count. He would then swiftly rise to his feet and begin the next phase.

As he approached, the Red Sith would then begin to soak his khopesh and his concealed wristblades in the phials of neurotoxins at his belt. Screaming fanatics weren't the only ones who had their tricks.

The Wookiee Jedi emerged from the bunker with its bowcaster raised, and let out a roar. The walking carpet pulled the trigger on his bowcaster and a bolt fired right for Hades. Hades thrust one of his lower arms out, reaching outward with the Force, grabbing for the bolt. The red light ceased to grow larger in his eyes, for now the bolt sat suspended in mid-air, buzzing with energy as it sought to continue on its path, but couldn't. Hades grabbed the two lightsabers off his belt with his top hands, and ignited the blades, ready to defend himself against any other shots. He stepped to the side, out of the way of the bolt the Wookiee had fired and it resumed its flight, zipping off into the distance.

"It's rare that I ever meet the same Jedi twice, but to meet two Jedi twice. Now that is intriguing. The last time we met we avoid conflict and came to an arrangement that satisfied both of our goals." Hades shifted into a defensive position. With Urshek seemingly missing, it would not be wise to charge into a fight. "This time however, I doubt that we can come to such an arrangement."

In truth Kwanli was not surprised his shot didn't take down the target. That would have made life too easy. It was obviously the fight would take at least a bit more effort than that. As the beast reached down to grab his lightsabers, the Wookiee did the same by swinging the bowcaster over his back with his left hand while summoning the lightsaber to his hand with the right. A green blade snapped to life and hummed quietly as it hung towards the ground in front of him. Two Jedi versus one Sith was tolerable odds, even if he was a giant monster. The force had been building up in the warrior and he refused to give the Sith a chance to do any damage here. Furthermore, he knew there was a chance the other Sith was still mobile so the quicker they got rid of one the easier this day would be.

"I agree," he roared, his temper held just below the surface.

Without further word, the Wookiee raised his left arm quickly and pulled at Hades with the force. As he did so, he raised his lightsaber into a simple thrust forward. The combination of a pull and thrust would hopefully catch the beast off-guard enough to run him through and end this fight early. Reasonably the beast would have strained himself a bit to stop the bolt and might not be ready to resist the force pull. He kept his feet planted on the ground and simply made the thrust with his arm pushing forward. If all went as planned, the force would do the rest of the work.

Vera watched as her companion attempted to pull the enemy with the force. As he did so, she stepped forward, holding her lightsaber like a spear, thrusting the blade towards the lower belly of the Sith. If he was pulled forward, and did nothing to block her attack, he would be impaled. If he was not pulled forward, she would step forward with her attack, thrusting the blade forward.

Due to how she was positioned, she would be out of his reach, and would have enough time to pull back and defend from any attacks he may use against her.

Maintaining his stealthy approach, Uhrsek entered where the Jedi and his fellow Red Sith were fighting. With light feet, he moved in a manner that would be trickier to notice among the din of battle; in time he would find his companion fighting the two Jedi alone, and his predicament did not seem very good. Yet with their concentration so placed, they would not notice the Kissai's approach. To begin this course of action, he would propel himself into the air and plant his khopesh into the wall, easing himself into an ambush position from up high. With the wristblades of his free hand, he began to ease himself up the wall until found a place with which to lay his feet upon.

Once he had found this purchase, he clung tightly to the wall; not out of fear of falling and injuring himself, but so as not to ruin his plan of ambush. Sensing the presence of the two Jedi, he would levy himself across the ledge, clinging tightly to the lengthy alcove within the wall...until he found the right position from which to spring his plan into action.

The Force pulled at Hades, attempting to send him flying onto the tips of the two lightsabers held out before him. And instead of resisting the pull, he let it bring him closer to his opponents. As he was pulled he rotated his body so his right side was facing the Wookiee, and used the reach that his long arms provided him to swing downward at the two lightsabers, attempting to knock them towards the ground. Still under the influence of the Force Pull, Hades threw his shoulder into the Wookiee, aiming for both of them to end up on the ground. On the ground he would kick out at the Togrutan Jedi.

Just as Kwanli had hoped, the large beast came right at him to use the momentum for a strong attack. It was exactly what the Wookiee Jedi had been planning to happen. Two hundred years of lightsaber fencing had taught him that a powerful charge was a death sentence many amateur fighters used. Some relied on skill while others got by on brute strength. This was a classic example of a yielding counter. As Hades swung down hard on his blade, Kwanli let his blade be pushed down, but his wrist loosened so that as it went down it also went out to the side and escaped the swing without being disarmed or locked up. As he did this, Kwanli stepped forward and to the right deep to avoid the tackle, getting himself out of direct line of attack. As he planted his foot to step off to the side, he allowed the momentum from Hade's strong swing to power a full circle with the blade loosely held in Kwanli's hand. Now that Kwanli was to the side and out of harms way with a controlled, quick, and powerful swing he allowed his lightsaber to do the natural movement of slamming down right into Hade's neck or upper chest/shoulder depending on how deep he cut. Should it go uninterrupted the blade would decapitate the beast who was now off balance, charging ahead, and his blades going into the ground with force. It would take a miracle for the beast to get out of this one.

To further protect himself and ensure he struck his enemy, the Wookiee's free left hand kept close to his body as he extended his palm upwards and tried to hold him in place with force stasis. The easy movement of the lightsaber allowed him to be accurate while also focusing on the force. Hades was truly powering his own downfall. By no means was Kwanli weak physically, and he could easily apply his own power to finish the blow if something slowed him.

As she saw the kick heading for her, she took a step back, spinning her lightsaber to change her grip, before swinging the blade at the leg that had tried to connect to her. If it connected, it would completely severe his leg from the knee down. To avoid it, he would have to stop the kick and pull it out of the range of her blade. She kept her eyes open for any other attacks, and for any other sign of the Sith they had already dealt with.

Sensing that the time was right, the Kissai noble chose it to be the right time to make his move. Uhrsek swiftly leaped off the top of his perch landing swiftly and silently. Reaching out to the Force, he drew upon every nuance of his anger and hatred; the Jedi had tried to kill him, now he was determined to make the overzealous hypocrites pay the ultimate price. With a thrust of his hands, the Force coalesced into an immense gout of arcane fire that howled is it went down the doorway, going straight towards his targets. Such was his control of the fire, he would be able to stop it hitting his Sith compatriot. Still, he braced himself for any counter-offensive.

The Wookiee sidestepped his tackle, and Hades passed by. With the influence of the Force Pull now gone, gravity took over and the Sith abomination began falling towards the ground. As he did, he pulled his left lightsaber, that he hadn't used to knock down his opponents lightsaber, and pulled it up into a diagonal slant across his body, covering his head down to the middle of his torso. The Wookiee's blade struck his own and forced it down. Hades could feel his own blade burning the flesh on his face. Normally, almost no opponent could so easily beat his blade down, but in his exhausted state from using the Force it was hard enough to keep the blade back from slicing his head off. Hades felt the air get slightly warmer, as if he were near a fire. He doubted the Jedi were behind it, so that left only his missing partner, the Kissai. Hoping to keep at least the Wookiee distracted, he moved his legs, but not to kick or get himself up, instead he moved to wrap his legs around the Wookiee's sword arm, trapping it.

If he managed to trap the arm, with his right lightsaber he would then attempt to slice the Wookiee's hand from its arm. If the Wookiee moved his arm out of the way before Hades could trap, he would use the momentum of his legs to pick himself up and land in a defensive stance. One lightsaber close to his body and the other at medium range.
