DESCRIPTION​

Autoblaster cannons were a type of vehicle mounted blaster weapon that were used in the galaxy in ancient times. During the war with the Empire, this technology was approached again, and then reintroduced to the battle field with updates.

• Replaces a laser cannon mount of any type (light, medium, heavy) with an autoblaster cannon.
• This replacement can be done up to four times.
• An autoblaster cannon mount fires blaster cannon fire at a very high rate-of-fire, even faster than light laser cannons although with dubious accuracy. Individual bolts are not as damaging due to lower power behind the bolts.
• This makes autoblaster cannons effective against lightly protected snub-fighters, they have a hard time penetrating the shields and hull plating of hardened targets such as freighters, shuttles, capital ships, and others of similar size.
• Overall, damage per second is equivalent to a light laser cannon.
• Compatible with ground vehicles in addition to star ships.
• On starships, two fixed-foward autoblaster cannons can be added in exchange for -10 MGLT. (This can only be taken once).
• Neither of this modification can be mounted on capital ships or other ships of similar size.

Today in the New Century, although the technology is refined as it can get, it is still looked down upon by most shipwrights as antiquated, almost never becoming standard armament on a ship class. Although people outlaws, scavengers often make do with what they can get and will use these weapons. Experienced pilots that well familiar with their use can get the most out of them, being able to decimate waves of fighters in theory.
