NAME: Ava Kharaith
FACTION: N/A
RANK: N/A
SPECIES: Energy Vampire
AGE: 20
GENDER: Female
HEIGHT: 5'9"
WEIGHT: 115 lbs.
EYES: Black
HAIR: Midnight blue
SKIN: Grayish blue
CREDITS: 1,000
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: A glyph from the ancient language of long dead civilization tattooed on her forehead. Ava found it while reading a holobook and learned that it was the only glyph in that particular language to have never been successfully translated. Since Ava was often unable to even understand herself at the time of her life that she got it, she felt like the concept of an unsolvable puzzle defined her well and also found it markedly fascinating.
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

STRENGTH - †††††††††† :
Despite what her twiggy build would suggest, Ava is considerably stronger than the average humanoid. She can't punch a hole through a reinforced durasteel door or snap a person's neck with the flick of her wrist, but she can throw a lightly armored soldier across the room, for instance.

DEXTERITY - †††††††††† :
Just like her strength, Ava's supernatural speed, reflexes and agility are inherent traits of her species. She can move with the grace and efficiency of a natural born predator, which is technically what she is, after all.

CONSTITUTION - †††††††††† :
Ava's health and general wellbeing depend heavily on how well fed she is at any given time. If she recently drained a powerful being such as a Force user, then she's going to benefit from somewhat heightened vitality for a while. Inversely, the if Ava is starving, then she's going to grow increasingly weak and fragile.

INTELLIGENCE - †††††††††† :
She's pretty sharp and has a good capacity for learning, though she's certainly not any sort of genius or prodigy. Having spent much of her childhood in the company of holobooks rather than hanging out with her peers, Ava is also pretty well-read and has good amounts of general knowledge. She hasn't benefited from any higher education, though, preferring to pursue other interests instead.

WISDOM - †††††††††† :
She isn't much wiser than the average young adult. She's just as prone as anyone else in her age bracket to make bad choices or react irrationally. When she does make mistakes, Ava does at least try to learn and avoid repeating them (which isn't to say that she always succeeds in doing so).

CHARISMA - †††††††††† :
Being quite introverted and shy, she's not the person who's going to walk into a room and win everybody over with her breathtaking charm. In fact, she can be downright awkward in most social situations, especially when dealing with strangers. When in the company of those that she considers to be her friends, Ava is much more at ease and convivial.

LIGHTSABER/SWORD FORMS:

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
-Very sharp and durable claws which can be retracted at will.
-Feeds off of other living creatures by biting them and sapping their energy through the blood. Feeding also greatly increases Ava's ability to heal and speeds up the process.
-Alternatively, she can infuse her own energy into somebody else to temporarily grant them her healing power. Doing so takes a huge toll on her own health.
-[ST]Can slowly drain living organisms from a distance without any need for physical contact.[/ST]*
-[ST]Can turn other creatures into zombies under her control by draining them.[/ST]*

*Ava has permanently lost these abilities.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Apart from the obvious advantages of being very strong and fast, Ava has also been gifted with a creative mind. It helps her see things that others might miss and come up with unorthodox solutions to problems sometimes.

Her constant need to keep herself fed with the energy of others is certainly her greatest weakness. She wouldn't even be able to survive if she got isolated away from other lifeforms for an extended amount of time. She also lacks much practical knowledge and experience about the real world beyond the little area which she lived in.

PERSONALITY:
Generally quite introverted and timid, Ava is unlikely to be the one who makes the first move towards somebody else. She often feels nervous or awkward in social situations, especially when she's forced to be around a lot of people in a relatively small space. She doesn't always know what to say, how to react and when it's appropriate or not to laugh, nor is she particularly apt at picking up on social cues.

Although she may come off as being cold or stuck up due to her reluctance to interact, that couldn't be much further than the truth. Ava is extremely compassionate and empathetic towards others, and one would be hard-pressed to find a sweeter or more loving friend. She's actually quite bubbly and fun when in the company of those that are close to her, it's just that not too many people get to that point with her.

Even though she may be quite mousy most of the time, Ava isn't a pushover and she knows what she wants. She'll avoid direct conflict in favor of diplomacy whenever possible, but she'll definitely stand up for herself when she feels required to do so. She's pretty good at hiding her emotions and keeping them contained within herself, but they actually motivate most of her actions despite the fact that it may not seem that way a lot of the time.

She's typically a very positive girl, but recent events have imposed a much more dejected outlook on life upon her. Every facet of her personality has been affected, causing Ava to become even more distant and sequestered than usual. She's lost her drive to pursue her passion and even begun resenting her very own existence, so she's currently in a very dark place that won't be easy to climb out of.

BIOGRAPHY:
It was obvious from a young age that Ava wasn't quite like most children, even when not taking the fact that her species was quite rare into account. She was nice, smart and pretty but she never seemed to have many friends despite having all of the tools necessary to be one of the more popular kids in school. She had trouble connecting with others for some reason. Whether it was because she was afraid of being rejected, because she felt guilty about constantly draining a tiny fraction of their energy every day or because she simply couldn't muster up the motivation necessary to form meaningful relationships with them, not even Ava really knew.

She didn't give it much thought either, being content to just keep to herself most of the time. Instead of social interaction, she occupied her time with schoolwork, movies, music, reading and drawing. Her parents were naturally a bit concerned, but they didn't want to pressure Ava into doing things against her will, so they let her be for the most part. She was well behaved and got good grades, and they were pretty sure that she'd grow out of her more solitary phase eventually so they weren't too worried.

Ava's behavior didn't change too much as she entered her teenage years, although her feelings about her own situation did - and quite drastically. She began to grow very unhappy, but she kept those feelings bottled up inside, making it difficult for anyone to pick up on it since they barely even noticed her to begin with. That was the worst part of it. It wasn't even as if the other kids bullied her or picked on her or anything else like that; they just ignored her. She was just written off as that weird chick who drew or read by herself in the corner of the room.

It was her own fault and she knew it which made the whole thing even more upsetting because there was nobody else to blame but herself. At least that revelation did end up making Ava push herself to become more open and sociable. It certainly didn't happen over night, but over the next few years she did gradually crawl out from within her bubble to join everybody else in the real world. While she may not have started running for committees or joining all sorts of clubs, Ava's circle of friends did expand from none at all to a few, and that was enough to keep her happy.

During her last year of school she even found herself a boyfriend who was nothing short of perfect in her eyes - something which her old self wouldn't even have thought possible. His name was Ryan. After graduating, they moved in together in one of Coruscant's more artistically inclined districts. Ryan was a talented musician capable of doing amazing things with multiple instruments, so it suited both of them. They weren't exactly living luxuriously as they had to survive off of low paying jobs while working on their respective hobbies which they hoped to eventually turn into their careers, but they were happy together.

In fact, Ava had never been happier in her entire life; not even close. Sadly, it wasn't long until fate decided to intervene. While they were on their way towards Ava's first ever exposition in a small, local art gallery, their taxi pilot somehow lost control of his airspeeder. All that she could remember was the sight of blinding headlights followed by the sound of metal twisting and breaking as their taxi collided with another similarly sized craft.

Ava's eyes lazily opened up a short while later, but she was still far from being fully conscious. The taxi had landed on a narrow passageway connecting two buildings which explained why she was still alive. The other airspeeder's passengers hadn't been so lucky, falling several kilometers to their inevitable deaths.

But Ava was still alive, her life hanging on by a fragile thread. She felt cold and she was hardly able to breathe, feeling an excruciating jolt of pain every time she tried. Her vision was too blurry and dark to actually see it, but Ava pretty much knew that something had impaled her through the chest. Her eyelids drooped back down and she passed out again, certain that she would be entering her eternal sleep.

Much to Ava's own surprise, she did end up waking up again with a sudden jump as she emerged from a disturbing nightmare. She grimaced in pain and clutched at her chest which still hurt like hell every time she tried to draw a breath, but that was still a notable improvement over not being able to breathe at all. Her back propped up against a wall, Ava slowly worked up the courage to open her eyes before looking down to assess the damage. It was hard to make anything out through her blood soaked clothing, so she unzipped her jacket and rolled her shirt up far enough that she could see the wound.

The hole which should have been there was already closed and scabbing which didn't really make any sense. Glancing around in search of answers, the only thing that Ava could figure out was that she was in an alley somewhere down in the undercity. The why and the how didn't matter right at that moment, she just needed to find Ryan. Ava could smell him from where she was so he had to be close.

She painstakingly pushed herself up to her feet, grunting in pain loudly as she fought through it. Heading in the direction that she believed her lover's scent to be coming from, Ava used the wall to support herself while dragging her feet forward as quickly as she could manage in her highly weakened state. "Ryan..?" she called his name out tentatively, afraid that she wouldn't get the response that she was praying for.

About fifty feet or so down the alley, she passed by a metallic portion of the wall which had a semi-reflective surface. Freezing on the spot, Ava turned to face it and used her sleeve to wipe away the layer of grime covering it, thinking that she'd seen something that was off. Much to her own dismay, she ended up confirming that she'd seen correctly the first time.

Her lips, her chin...practically the entire bottom half of her face and even her neck were covered in dark, dried blood. Ava's black eyes widened as she stared in stupefaction and brought her trembling fingers up in front of her mouth. "No..No.." she mumbled to herself in horrified disbelief as flashbacks of her nightmare came back to her.

Ava saw herself sitting in the crashed taxi, unconscious with a metal bar sticking out of her chest. Someone was crawling over towards her. "No, I wouldn't...I couldn't!" she said with conviction as if she was trying to convince her reflection. Next, she could only remember the part in her dream where she bit somebody on the side of the neck, but it was impossible to make out her victim's face. It had to be something else, there had to be some other explanation. Ava had never bitten anyone in her entire life, ever.

She closed her eyes and pressed her fingers against her lips, tears beginning to run down her cheeks as soon as she was touched the blood. Every fiber of her being wanted to believe that she was wrong and she prayed to whatever higher power that may have existed to make it so, but deep down she already knew. When the last part of Ava's dream came back to her, it was an image of herself - fresh blood dripping from her chin as sh dropped Ryan's lifeless body to the ground.

It hardly even looked like Ava even though it was unmistakably her. This wasn't the meek and quiet Ava but a savage and feral shadow of her, one which had never seen the light of day before. Finally, she remembered why she'd tried to keep people at a distance all those years ago. She was just an innocent kid but somehow she knew what she was, or at least what she could become: a monster.

She should have trusted her first instincts but instead she was selfish and greedy. She wanted friends, wanted for people to like her; wanted for somebody to love her. Be careful what you wish for, of all the proverbs to come back and bite her in the ass, it had to be the most banal and cliché of all.

Ava could feel her heart and mind breaking simultaneously as the realization of what she'd done continued to sink in. The pain was indescribable, far worse than anything she could have ever fathomed. The price to pay for lusting after something that she wasn't meant to have. Unable to bare it, Ava slammed her fist right into her own barely closed wound, making herself howl in pain as she doubled over. She didn't stop though, not even after she'd fallen to her knees and opened the wound up again so that it was bleeding.

She just kept wailing into the night as she martyrized herself in the hopes that she could mask her real suffering by hurting herself physically, but it made no real difference. Something snapped inside of Ava's head while she was writhing on the ground in that alley. The psychotic break that she was experiencing released the beast within which she'd been unknowingly suppressing for so long. Her self control and moral compass disappeared to some hidden recess of her mind and she forgot how to feed without the use of her fangs.

It would be weeks and a long body count before Ava could even begin to relearn how to live while controlling her urges enough so that she didn't drink people dry. Whether or not she'd ever be able to learn to live with herself after everything she'd done, she wasn't sure.
