DESCRIPTION
The AZ-7 was a product Merr-Sonn crafters believed to be ahead of its time. Unfortunately, they were right. When the light repeater was created, there was little demand for what it provided. The weapon attempted to perform as a medium repeater in a lighter weight class, as weapon that could hold suppressing fire on a position with impressive output of bolts. However, these bolts were weaker, as well as less accurate, compared to military grade medium repeaters. Additionally, the weapon had an issue with overheating due to its extreme fire rate and experimental dispersion technology. It didn't make the cut for most planetary defense forces or other militaries, and was above the needs of the typical individual. This led to a steep drop in price and production, but became a distinct opportunity for the Five Syndicates. Pseudo-military weaponry at reduced price, and a design and fire rate that could put fear into the hearts of those on the receiving end? The weapon was impractical compared to military standards, but for the needs of enforcers in cartels, and at a steal of a price, many syndicates bought in bulk. This pervaded the weapon throughout the criminal underworld, with extras being purchasable at reasonable rates. It's easy enough to get your hands on one, if you know the right kind of wrong people, despite the weapon having long since been cut from production.LEGALITY
The weapon will be illegal in most regulated areas without a permit. Being a repeated puts it automatically on many restricted lists, and given its reputation for Cartel use, the AZ-7 won't be catching any legal breaks.INTENT
I drew the weapon with my character and liked the design enough to put some lore to it. I'd also be happy to add some slight perks and heavy negatives along the lines of inaccuracy and overheat chance for increased rate of fire. But I don't know how much need for balancing there is on a weapon that won't see pvp due to it's repeater restrictions.RESTRICTIONS
As a repeater, this weapon carries the appropriate restrictions of one. Do not use in PvP.
