Biography
Azara was not destined for greatness. She was never told of all that may lie before her. As a child her only tales of wonder came from the stories of her people's past. Baldr, Thorite, Alemanii, great clans filled with warriors, scientists, and explorers seeking to make a name for themselves throughout the ages. Though she kept it in her heart, Azara always dreamed she might take on the name Freya and return her people to their glory.
When it came time to take her trial, Azara was instructed to go to the mountains and retrieve a sacred stone marked with her name in the old tongue. As she left the relative warmth of the village, the young Deucalian soon learned it was a fool's errand. So instead of going up to the mountains and her certain death, she went down into the snow.
Digging a hidden shelter she soon hit bedrock. With that rock she carved from memory the symbol for her name. Within two days she returned, far faster than any other had done. Azara confessed to what she did and while the Elders didn't feel it fulfilled the letter of the trial, it certainly kept to their spirit. So for her cleverness and penchant for digging, she was dubbed "The Fox"
A life glorifying the Deucalians seemed to be Azara's destiny, but nothing changes a sure thing quite like love. On an isolated journey to the outer rim to a backwards world called Dantooine she met a sweet boy named Jack. As these things go she got pregnant and gave birth to twins they named Kyra and Tyr.
Jack wanted to raise them on Dantooine. Azara disagreed. Needless to say someone was outfoxed and soon enough Tyr and Kyra were being raised by the same tales Azara once cherished. Homesick and thinking they were ready, the Baldr took them to Ando Prime for their trial.
They hadn't lived a life on the ice as she. They held hoes and plowed fields. Their hands held bows with curiosity rather than experience. Still Tyr wanted to make his mother proud so he headed off on his own trial.
He never returned.
To escape her husbands wroth, Azara stays on the move. No matter how the winds howled, she could always dig deep and find the bedrock. She would carve her destiny from the depth. She would survive as a fox did. Even if it meant biting off a limb for just one day more.
