DESCRIPTION​

The first major product of an up-and-coming arms manufacturer on the planet Bacrana making good use of funds provided by the Defense Secretary's militarization initiative, the BA-20 is the kind of durable and reliable weapon needed to police the wild places in the Outer Rim. With a frame of polished durasteel and solid grip, this pistol can survive quite a lot of dust and punishment. The grip plating comes normally in duraplast or, for special orders, wood with custom engravings.

Upon its acceptance into the ISC armoury, both President Emryc Thorne and Defense Secretary Carrick were gifted custom-gripped models with engraved initials in the style of a signet ring.

Advertised with a detachable macroscope, more common are simpler electronic sights or even ironsights to save space, weight, and cost. On the left side is a closed heat sink that vents waste gas between each shot, using the weapons own byproducts as a cooling medium. An ambidextrous lever on the pack intake drops the power/gas pack from its place if moved to a fully downwards position while pressing the thumb lever above the grip, making reloading both easy and preventing accidental ammo drops. The small black lever behind the switch changes between three settings: Safe, lethal, and stun.

While intentionally not designed for outright modification, it's capable enough on its own to fire shot after shot without overheating so long as semi-regular maintenance is kept up. However, there are add-on kits that turn the weapon into a full-sized carbine capable enough to be used by military personnel and ISC Rangers. Its slim frame without a top-mounted sight allows for excellent concealability should it be needed.

LEGALITY​

Legal. Ownership of blaster pistols is not restricted in most of the Galaxy. However, openly carrying such a weapon in public might be on more "civilized" worlds. On less civilized worlds, it still might draw unwanted scrutiny.
