Space Colony 419- 0100 Hours

Primula sat aboard her shuttle as it began to near the large space station she would be visiting. Built directly into an asteroid, the colony had a large amount of minerals available for trade and was attempting to haggle with her about supplying them with adequate food after a slight shortage due to increased pirate attacks in the area.

She of course had her escort for this, two of the RX starfighters were accompanying her, and she took a moment to look at the one off her right wing while she stared out the window. The trip had been rather boring but thankfully short and she was more than ready to stretch her legs. She flipped her datapad open and began to scroll through the names of the ambassadors from the colony she would be meeting again when the lights in the shuttle suddenly switched from white to red. She paused and looked up at her assistant who shared her look of confusion.

Pilot, is everything alright?

She called out as she approached the cabin door. Before she could get an answer however the ship rocked hard and she was forced to brace herself against the door to keep from falling down.

Pirates ma'am! Were going to ask you to sit down and keep yourself strapped in please!

Well, she knew one day shed get attacked but she didn't think it's be today. She quickly made her way back to her seat and retrieved her datapad from the ground, not sure what she was going to do with it, but at least she had something to hold onto. Her assistant did the same and fastened her seat belt, although the terror in her eyes was much more noticeable.

Alright, don't worry Jess. I'm sure those pilots I hired are going to handle this just fine. Were going to be fine.

She had a feeling she was more trying to convince herself of those words than her assistant but at least she was trying. She nervously looked back out the window to see a small freighter making its way towards them, and to her disbelief, was getting closer all the time. The two fighters broke formation and sped towards the would be attackers. All she could do was wait and pray they did their jobs.

Lucian had been visiting the space station to have his ship re-fuelled while he tested the waters to see how the space station was coping during these trying times when he heard a commotion. Still dressed in his flight suit rather than his Jedi armour or robes, no one paid Lucian any kind of attention as he made his way to the console so that he could see what was going on outside.

As soon as it became clear that pirates were attacking a diplomatic shuttle, Lucian was on his way back to his ship, slamming on his helmet as he did so.

It didn't matter to him that the person in trouble was a senator or someone similar - all that mattered to him was that someone was under attack by pirates. They could have been Sith for all Lucian cared. He refused to allowed people to be bullied by people like the scum-sucking pirates of the Galaxy.

Flinging himself into the cockpit of his fighter, he powered up the ship even as he ignored the pleas from the locals for him to stay inside the space station... the pirates wouldn't get too close to the station because of it's auto defences but the shuttle wasn't there yet so it needed to be protected!

Launching the starfighter from the hanger, Lucian angled it on an interception course for the Uglies approaching the shuttle. He opened up coms with the shuttle,

"Diplomatic shuttle, this is Jedi Knight Lucian Volante, providing support."

As he gripped the controls her provided some advice,

"Recommend you head for the station as it's defences should be adequate to protect you. Out."

Primula held on as the pilots did their best to dodge the incoming fire from the starfighters attacking them. All she could do was pray the shields held out a bit longer till they were close enough to the station. Even then however, she wasn't entirely sure they'd be safe.

She felt a wash of relief over her however as she heard a voice come over the comms. Apparently she had a massive stroke of luck, despite the bad luck that was being attacked by pirates that is. A Jedi was in the area, and was coming to help. While growing up she had heard stories about the Jedi but had only ever seen one to be honest. She looked out the viewport again and saw the three ships closing in on her and her shuttle.

Just a second later however, she saw the Jedi approaching from the other side, heading straight for them. Well at the very least, it was now a fair fight, she thought to herself. With the jedi and her two escort fighters they would have a much better chance of defeating the pirates, at least she thought so anyways. She then realized she may have recognized the voice, but quickly shook her head dismissing the idea.

I mean, what are the chances that Lucian would be here. That's just silly.

Lucian had to admit that the enemy fighters were... well they were hardly going to make good good opponents if he was honest but that was fine by him. They were up against himself and two escort fighters and they still hadn't peeled off to try and take him out while he was isolated either.

These pilots weren't very good were they?

He wasn't going to complain - he just opened fire, letting loose a volley of shots that strafed along the sides of two of the three ships, seriously damaging one of them and doing so mild damage on the other... right up until the escort fighters capitalised on how distracted the attackers were and added heaps of damage onto the mildly damaged one, gave the third fighter damage of it's own and finished the job an destroyed the one he had all but crippled.

"My compliments to your choice of pilots!" he called over the coms, "They seem very proficient... Corellians?"

He was just passing time, relaxing even as he got the least damaged of the ships to chase him rather than fire on the shuttle.

To say Primula was relieved was an understatement. She watched as the Jedi opened fire on the three fighters, hitting two of them and crippling them both. That's was all before her own fighters came in and capitalized on the moment and staffed the fighters, destroying one and ripping a wing off of the other. The two ships would be smart to back off now, but she wasn't going to take any chances, especially with her pilots lives on the line every second of the dog fight.

Pilot, keep making for that station. And go ahead and tell our Jedi protector thank you, and the pilots are in fact Parmarthens. Go ahead and call them back as well if they think it advantageous, otherwise have them rendezvous with us at the station.

Right away ma'am!

Lucian was able to turn his fighter on a dime and as such he was more than capable of shredding the damaged fighter he had chased away from the shuttle. It barely took a burst from his cannons before it was just so much space debris.

He could see on the scanners that the two escort fighters were doing their best to stop his tail from blowing him up in the void but it seemed that they weren't able to get a good bead on him. The ship was rather beaten up but nothing that would stop it from firing at Lucian even though it looked like the thing could barely fly.

Using some spins to the right, he managed to avoid what would have been an almost direct hit, but it did wreck up his ship pretty bad. It was listing to one side with damage on the wing affecting the flight... awkward.

Primula watched out the viewport as the fighters nicked the remaining pirate but the ship still fired on the Jedi who managed to dodge the worst of the laser fire but was still grazed on his wing. She could tell because his smooth flying suddenly changed and became a bit stiffer.

Well she wasn't going to let the man that saved her get shot down. She quickly ran to the front of the ship and hit the button to open the door.

Turn us around, give me the controls to the cannons. Now!

She almost shouted at the pilot and sat herself in the gunners position. She lined up the sights of the targeting system as the pilot spun around and leveled them up with the remaining pirate. She fired three quick bursts into the ship, one missing completely, the other grazing it's wing sending it into a spin, before the last shot hit dead center and destroyed the craft.

Well, I suppose that settles that. Now can we hurry along to that station? I really really need a latte. Like now.

Lucian was a damn good pilot and even with his starfighter damaged he knew that he would still be able to turn this fight around - he was not a quitter and with the Force as his ally he felt confident that he could end the battle himself. He was not, however, arrogant enough to believe that he was the ONLY person who could end the battle so when he noticed that the shuttle was angling itself for an attack run, he hummed in approval.

Instead of doing a move to try and give him some room to lock onto the fighter behind him, he instead did something that often counted as suicide in a dogfight; he flew in a straight line.

This presented the fighter behind him with a target that was too tempting to ignore... so he focused all of his efforts on shooting down Lucian and thus ignored the danger he was it. Spinning his fighter to the right, he managed to avoid the fighter's fire and it never got a chance to re-target as it was already destroyed by the shuttle.

"A latte?" he asked as he brought his fighter back in to land, "Well it is customary to buy a woman a cup of caf when she saves your life in some circles..."

Again, his life wasn't really in danger... but he had gotten out of that easy because of her. Landing his fighter, he unlocked the cockpit and climbed down from the ship with his fully enclosed flight helmet still firmly in place,

"Senator Peyvand... we meet again."

She'd never been so glad to step foot in a space station in her life. She breathed in the artificial air and did her best to calm her nerves while her assistant went to retrieve her latte and she awaited whomever it was she was supposed to be speaking to to arrive.

She had thought she had recognized the voice over the comms, and had been correct as the Jedi removed his helmet and his golden hair fell past his shoulders.

Master Volante. Or I'm sorry, Knight Volante. How very good it is to see you again! Thank you for being there for me! I seem to be the popular senator to try and kill these days, or so it would appear. Itd be nice to have a Jedi escorting me back to Taanab you know? We might have some mechanics who can assist with repairing your ship? Do you think it could make the flight? I'm sorry, where are my manners, barraging you with questions like this.

It was always amusing to Lucian that people always greeted Jedi as if they were Masters. He was far from being a Jedi Master and he knew it so he wouldn't ever claim the title like that. He pulled his helmet free and, as he did so, shook out his hair to let it fall almost as perfectly as if he had never even been wearing a helmet at all.

Naturally it was a use of the Force that he hadn't mentioned to the other Jedi around.

Tucking his helmet under his arm, he waved off her thanks with a polite smile,

"It is a pleasure to see you again but please - no thanks are needed." he assured her before he chuckled a little bit, looking back at his ship, "The engineers here are Galactic-class I assure you... they'll have my ship ready to fly before I've even finished my first coffee."

Turning back to Primula, Lucian handed his helmet to a nearby engineer before stripping out of his flight suit... revealing his Jedi robes underneath. He handed the flight suit over with his thanks and offered Primula his arm for her to take,

"I will be very happy to escort you back home." he assured her before adding, "But it would be remiss of me to not first escort you to the caf you so crave. Shall we?"
