A man's blaster shot into the air while he held a woman tight around the neck. Alais was among a sea of faces in the cantina it was happening in. Instead of causing a scene, she'd gotten down and under a table like most of the crowd. Obviously this was some sort of robbery or gang war in this area. The woman the thug was holding was a hostage. One of the ladies of the night, or a server or something, Alais guessed. She hadn't watched the entire scene unfold, she'd only sensed danger and acted when the crowd started to panic.
She was on a business trip so she was wearing a dress instead of armor, although beneath it were her weapons. If push came to shove, she'd draw them, but until then she was just another civilian in the eyes of the people here. She wasn't interested in getting caught up in whatever this was because it was so far away from home. Anything she did here to make a name wouldn't last, because she had no nearby network to maintain it.
She watched as someone came up with their arms in the air, though she had a sneaking suspicion he was up to something. And then there were shots fired and Alais decided it was time to sneak her way out of here before things got even more heated. She crawled under the tables towards an exit until she saw someone come through it. Another thug with weapons. This was not an ideal situation.
